I loved it as well. One of the most frightening of his novels for sure.
Frightening. Profound. Eloquent. It's just classic.

Also a 5. I think it's one of his better books.

Good book. It's sad that many people think it a simple horror book and they don't notice the message.
I gave it a 4. It definitely kept me up after reading it, and Louis Creed was SUCH an IDIOT. But it wasn't the best for me. A lot of the stuff he put out around this time period were good stories, but not his best works.

Correction, you're one of two.
I have the book and plan to read it sometime (and have seen the movie), but I haven't read it yet.

 Yes! Sorry.
I really liked Jud, I thought he was an awesome character, but I don't like the story. I've read it twice, the second read was because I'd forgotten most of what happened. I just didn't like the overall feel of it.

I thought it was one of King's best horror stories, so I gave it a 5.

5. one of the very few that have received this vote from me. This is the first King I read. Around 4th grade. As soon as I finished it, I flipped back to the beginning and reread it. This is the only book that I have immediatly reread. It made a huge impression on me.
It may have been my young age, but Gage is still the scariest character that I have ever encountered. I feel that making an innocent child into something unspeakable evil is one of the most powerful weapons in a horror novelists armory. Still gives me the friggin creeps."

I have fixed it for you. If you hit "edit" at the bottom of that post now, you'll see what the syntax should look like
