The 5th answer has you with 1/3 of the question right. Now you have to move on to the next 4 movies that have nothing to do with Musketeers.
Are you sure you understand the question? These movies were shoot as one movie.... But turned into two.

So movies 3 & 4 will have nothing to do with 5 & 6 or 1 & 2 except being turned into two movies.

Were these movies originally intended as one film then split or were they filmed in totality with the intention of splitting them?

I was thinking of Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 and the Matrix: Reloaded and Revolutions.

Were these movies originally intended as one film then split or were they filmed in totality with the intention of splitting them?

I was thinking of Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 and the Matrix: Reloaded and Revolutions.

Two out of the three were shot as one then split into two (Pissing off actors who got screw out of money on the 2nd feature.) Kill Bill & Matrix are not the other films I am looking for.

HINT
The last of the 6 movies was released in 1990.

The last two movies (#s 5 & 6) started shooting as one movie but during production switched to two movies because there was just to much story for one film. Everybody knew it was going to be two films.(That was not the fact with the first 4 films.
BIG CLUE
Films 5 & 6 are films 2 & 3 of a trilogy.

1. The Three Musketeers 1973
2. The Four Musketeers: Milady's Revenge 1974

3. ?

CLUES
1. The #3 film we are looking for had three sequels and the last one the story was credited to the star.
2. The Director of film #3 that was also be cut into film #4 was let go..... So another Director reshoot & recut film #4.
3. Thanks to DVD & BLU-RAY The original Director's cut of film #4 can now be seen.

Director Herbert L. Strock had very poor vision in one eye and consequently was unable to properly gauge how the 3-D effects were, and had to rely on others to tell him. Coincidentially, André De Toth, who directed House of Wax (1953), arguably the most famous 3-D film, only had one eye and could not see the 3-D effects at all.

holy shit, just remembered what it was!

Apt Pupil

Producer Richard Kobritz sought to adapt the novella into a film during the 1980s, but two actors he invited to play Dussander died. When filming began in 1987, a loss of financing led to production being shut down. Forty minutes of usable footage existed, but production was never revived. James Mason to play the novella's war criminal Kurt Dussander, but Mason died in July 1984 before production as a result of a heart attack. The producer also approached Richard Burton for the role, but Burton also died. By 1987, Nicol Williamson was cast as Dussander, and 17-year-old Rick Schroder was cast as Todd Bowden. In that year, Alan Bridges began direction of the film with a script co-written by Ken Wheat and his brother Jim Wheat. Ten weeks into filming, production suffered from a lack of funds from its production company Granat Releasing, and the film had to be placed on hold. Kubritz sought to revive production, but when the opportunity came a year later, Schroder had aged too considerably for the film to work. Forty minutes of usable footage was abandoned.

What person had a role in all movies of a particular film franchise--but playing a different role in each film?

This particular film franchise has more than two films, so that means, say, Michael Parks ("Earl McGraw" in Kill Bill vol. I and "Esteban Vihaio" in Kill Bill vol. 2) is not the answer.

The person I am thinking of is a female. Three movies. One of the roles was a male. Only one was a speaking part, and most folks wish it wasn't.

Sofia Coppola is the correct answer! At least the one I was looking for. Obviously, there are others.

This month I watched my Godfather trilogy DVD set. And all three Francis Ford Coppola commentaries and bonus features. That's where I learned about Sofia. She played the infant Michael in the baptism scene at the end of Part I (as Still Servant mentioned), then "immigrant girl on boat" in a scene in Part II, and then of course Mary Corleone in Part III.

Christopher Hampton's 1985 play Les Liaisons Dangereuses was a theatrical adaptation of the 18th-century French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.

Name 5 film adaptations of the play or novel. Cinema only; no TV shows.

This is very easy to look up on IMDb or Wikipedia. I'm curious who might know from film history, general knowledge, or even having seen them. (I only knew 3 of the 5). Hint: One of the films is in a language not French and not English.

Dangerous Liaisons 1988, directed by Stephen Frears and starring Glenn Close, John Malkovich, Michelle Pfeiffer and Uma Thurman (based on Hampton's play). This version uses 18th-century costumes and dazzling shots of the Île-de-France region around Paris. It was nominated for multiple Academy Awards including Best Picture.

Valmont (1989), directed by Miloš Forman and starring Annette Bening, Colin Firth and Meg Tilly.

Cruel Intentions (1999), directed by Roger Kumble and starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Selma Blair and Reese Witherspoon relocates the story to modern-day New York and is set amongst upper-class high school teens. The film had two sequels in 2000 and 2004 starring Amy Adams and Kerr Smith.

Untold Scandal (2003), directed by E J-yong and starring Lee Mi-sook, Jeon Do-yeon and Bae Yong-joon, transposes the setting to 18th-century Korea.

Dangerous Liaisons (2012), directed by Hur Jin-ho and starring Zhang Ziyi, Jang Dong-gun and Cecilia Cheung, is set in 1930s China.

That's five, so you got it. There was also the 1959 French film Les Liaisons Dangereuses, directed by Roger Vadim.

I've seen the Korean adaptation and really enjoyed it. My review below. I've spoilered it so it doesn't gum up the thread for those not interested.

(I've also got the Chinese adaptation in my Netflix queue. Looks pretty good as well).

Untold Scandal
Directed by Je-yong Lee
Starring Mi-suk Lee, Do-yeon Jeon, and Yong-jun Bae
In Korean with English subtitles
Film: 4 stars (out of 5)

“Revenge is sweetest when done secretly.”

Untold Scandal is a lush adaptation of the novel “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” set in Chosun Dynasty Korea. I have not read the novel nor seen any of the other film adaptations (e.g., Dangerous Liaisons; Cruel Intentions), so my review is on the merits of the film itself rather than a comparison to other works.

Lady Cho is none too happy when her husband brings in 16-year-old So-ok to be his concubine. She is cute and virginal and of course Lady Cho can’t stand it. So she turns to her cousin, Sir Cho Won, and makes a devious proposition--seduce this “innocent flower” and impregnate her. The thought of presenting her husband with a pregnant concubine makes Lady Cho’s eyes sparkle. What would Cho Won get in return? What he has always wanted—to enjoy the carnal pleasures of Lady Cho.

But the idle rich are easily bored and this is hardly the test Cho Won was looking for. Seducing a naïve teenager is no challenge. A few flattering words and, well, what girl would *not* fall into bed with the dashing and charming Cho Won? He offers a counter-proposal. If he can bed the virginal Lady Chung, who belongs to a Catholic group and has made a vow of chastity, that would be a true accomplishment worthy of the reward Lady Cho offers. (Of course, being the Lothario that he is, he can’t help making eyes at So-ok as well. Just a little something on the side to keep in practice.)

Now the games begin. Cho Won finds it rough going, as Lady Chung wants nothing to do with him. She has heard of his reputation and she has no interest in anything but her Catholic service and charity work. She’s rather a plain Jane and can’t even conceive of why Cho Won would want to have anything to do with her anyway. In fact, she tells him straight out that she would rather live with the plague victims than even carry on a conversation with him. He’s certainly got his work cut out for him.

Lady Cho gets a perverse pleasure out of this game of seduction and manipulation. And she’s got her own devious games to play with the clueless So-ok.

The scheming escalates in intensity and nefariousness. Will Lady Chung crack? Will Lady Cho have to pay up on the bet? Will So-ok end up a pregnant bride? Will the Law of Unintended Consequences come back to bite Cho Won?

The challenge for the actors is to make such characters engaging enough so that the viewer isn’t completely turned off by them. Let’s face it. Cho Won is a cad of the first degree, and Lady Cho is no better. Even when it appears that Cho Won is succumbing to actual feelings of affection and love, we are not sure if it is genuine or just a part of his merciless game.

Many films can offer up good villains, but they are usually played off against protagonists who have the audience’s sympathy and interest. It is more of a task when the villains have to carry the film. I think Untold Scandal rises to the challenge admirably. The scheming cousins set about their plans with such style and panache that viewers may find themselves actually rooting for them. These are interesting characters who are surprisingly multi-dimensional (especially in the case of Cho Won).

If you like costume and period pieces, this is the movie for you. The look of the film is colorful and vibrant. This Hong Kong DVD carries a Category III rating for some nudity, eroticism, and sensuality, but it is not some silly sex romp. The characters develop, and there are some surprises along the way.

My major issue with the film was that the ending seemed sort of slapped together. Up until then we’ve been treated to a very tight and contained piece, but then things start spinning all over the place. I’m not sure if this is true to the original story or if the director felt that after 2 hours he’d better just wrap things up.

*Note*: The name translations in the subtitles are different from the character names on the IMDb and other English plot synopses I’ve read (including the one on the back of the box). For example, Lady Cho = Madam Jo. Lady Chung = Lady Suk or Sook. This review uses the names as subtitled.

also HAMMER had to make script changes so they did not infringe on the other Universal Frankenstein films that were not in Public Domain.
The only reason I jumped in right away is that my next question has to do with this very subject.

If you live in the U.S.A. or U.K. POP in your DVD or BLU-RAY & you will discover that these scenes are not in the movie nor were they in the theatrical releases (cut to get it a lower rating) FYI They are also in the Australian Blu-Ray.

ANSWER Both films were cut after their 1st theatrical release & the footage was lost..... so to restore them audio & still photos were used. (This was also done with Erich Von Stroheim's 1924 GREED.)
Just for shits & giggles can you name the full length lost feature film that was restored this way?

Wasn't there also a scene in The Clash of the Titans when the pretty young lady was getting out of a bath? I was just entering my teens in the early '80s and I tend to remember nudity when I came across it. It was pretty slim pickings at my house, as my mom and stepdad were very strict with the R-ratings. However, summers at my dad's was entirely different. He had cable, HBO, and Cinemax. Oh, yeah, Cinemax After Dark; that was a godsend for a 14 year-old!

I will continue to try to come up with the answer to your trivia. If there was PG nudity, I'm pretty sure I saw the movie at some point.

Ok, here goes. Bruce, I'm sure you'll know the movie right off, but perhaps at least one of the questions will require a bit of additional thought...

1) The below lyrics represent part of the theme song for what movie?

2) Who sang the song?

3) What three unconventional musical instruments are featured in the song?

4) What Broadway musical is the film based on?

Lyrics

Now them Yankees come along, and they'll listen to this song; and they'll quake in fear to hear that Rebel Yell.

Yee-Haw! Oh the South's gonna rise again!

...
Jeb Stuart spurred his horse, and the Yankees ran a' course;
But there wasn't any powder for his gun;
So he said to his boys, "let's make a lot a noise,
And we'll charge again and make them Yankees run."

Yee-Haw! Oh the South's gonna rise again!
