Not a lot, from what we can tell. A full set of the magazine is very hard to come by. Those who have them don't seem to want to part with them!

I do. Have been thinking about putting it up on Ebay, but I'd rather sell here. I was planning to put it up for BIN $80. Brand new, mint. I can PM pictures. I'll sell for face value of $75 plus actual shipping cost if done by PayPal gift.

I hadn't yet paid much attention to my signed Publisher's Copy of Justin Cronin's The Twelve. I've never read The Passage either, but figured I eventually would and then I'd have a great copy of The Twelve waiting for me.

I instead just passed it off to one of the members here (needed $ for other purchases) and in packing it up, I noticed what a truly beautiful quality book that is! Cemetery Dance just turns everything they touch into Smyth sewn gold!

Okay, okay that was fair, I suppose. However I did it and the water was very freaking cold. My shoe size not withstanding. LOL Can I get an "Amen"??? LOL I want to see you folks' version!!! More for the HF or ALS!!

Rumor has it that our "Fearless Leader" is a real "Wussy" and will not live up to the challenge. While I continue to have faith in him I'm not sure that will last if he doesn't "Step up"!!!

It's been a few weeks, but I wanted to take a second to share how awesome Brian and CD are. I bought one of the SK grab bags. When my first shipment arrived, everything inside--dust jackets, poster, uncut artwork sheet--were all damaged. (I don't know what UPS did with my tube, but DAMN!) I emailed Brian, per his instructions and between him and Mindy, I received a second set of items in perfect shape. Packed so well, in fact, that I couldn't get the things out of the tube. When I am consistently receiving bad customer service from just about everywhere, it's nice to deal with people who truly care about their customers being happy.

Anyway, I had been meaning to share, so there it is. Now...when in the hell are we going to get the next wave of grab bag packages?!

May I second this as well. CD is my favorite when it comes to quality and service. When I got my Dark Man (yes it was late but... some here know that story) it was pretty damaged. It did a lot of traveling though for many reasons. The black smudging I could not seem to remove, the numbered sheet was a little damaged as well as the case. I told Brian (NOT looking for anything but some more ideas on how to remove the smudging as the slight damage wasnt really a deal breaker) and no question it was replaced and fixed. It is now on route. Thanks again CD for being a great company and giving a care about the customers. Cheers:)

HA! :) Soon! We lost Dan's helper in the warehouse just as three new books arrived and we are so behind on shipping. We could just bang the next round of shipments out the door if we weren't concerned about packing them really carefully, but we are concerned, so we just need a good block of time where we can go slow and take our time. Soon, though! :)

The Limited Editions of World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide are done, we're just waiting on the binder to finish up the Lettered Edition and send us our approval copies, so we can approve the shipment. They're about three weeks behind schedule on those. (Dan is still catching up on everything else that has landed on his plate, so even if the Limited Editions were sitting back there, they wouldn't be shipping, which is why they're waiting at the printer for the other editions to be completed.)

I've seen a lot of her amazing art whilst visiting this site and I truly think that she would be great doing the artwork in one of the forthcoming Stephen King books, especially something like The Stand.

Since a few weeks, I was wondering what was the very first collaboration between King and CD? And how did that happen?
Maybe CD could share some of the story on the blog or something? :)

The first CD King novel was "From a Buick 8" (Gift, Limited and Lettered) in Oct, 2002. I think the first publication would have been in Issue #14 of the CD magazine (Road Virus Heads North).

I'd also be interested in the history of how this came about, but CD's web page lists all of their published King works (http://www.cemeterydance.com/page/CDP/CTGY/KING) and dates of publication.

Love it! I just re-upped.

You get early access, often with an extra discount, for most everything offered by CD.

You get special offers first and some offers that never make it to the general public. Again often with discounts.

If you like to purchase what CD offers then it is well worth it.

That's a valid point. Although I think that it would have been worth it last year even so.

I joined last year for the sole fact that if SK has a new release, you would not have to fight the line, i am not sure if CDCC collectors get advance notice on signed/limiteds but it was worth a chance. Needless to say, they did not issue any SK S/L last year! You get tons of emails, + first notice on other book but as StroppyGoblin said, i only collect KIng, I did not get my $$ worth last year.

Hey Brian... question for you. Will you be doing all 6 Artist books in the same CD fashion? Meaning traycase'd like the other s/l's we have seen for King OR will you be mixing this up a bit? Perhaps a Coffin shaped box for Salem's? maybe a cross style head stone for a pet... in Pet Semetary? Or a a clock shaped box with the hands at midnight for Night Shift... and maybe... for The Stand... who knows??? I am sure there are a million ideas. My overall fav books produced are yours BUT the best (my absolute favs) are the ones thought outside the box.. like Regulators to name one. I think you can knock this out of the park and thought it would be nice to have a set that is so different from anything else out there. Any thoughts given to this Brian?

They're going to be a matching set, so what you see with CARRIE is what the rest will look like in terms of production values and style. But I do have one idea in particular I'd love to pitch that would require very different production materials and a style of case that has never been used for any SK book before. It's also the sort of project that could only work if he was signing, though. We'll see...!

I know some collectors won't agree with me because art is subjective, obviously, but the artwork for 'SALEM'S LOT is close to my favorite artwork we've gotten for a Stephen King special edition. It's going to be a very good looking book.

Hi Brian,

Are you able to tell us who the artist for Salem's Lot is?

We're holding off officially announcing his involvement until closer to the book's "official" announcement. We debated whether we should show the CARRIE customers these sneak peeks, but it seemed like a really fun way to say thanks for their support of what we're trying to do with the Doubleday Years. But this is an artist we've never worked with before, but we definitely want to work with him again!

I agree... I LOVE the S/L Salems I have now but I felt that the artwork did not seem to have much to do with the book other than being dark toned. I LOVE the artwork however in that book and the presentation is spot on. Really pumped to see what CD pulls off here. I am most pumped for that and the Stand I think...

Dan is up to his neck in Mr. Mercedes slipcases now:

http://www.cemeterydance.com/images/misc/MrMercedesSlipcasesShipping.jpg

We selected a slightly reflective and textured material for the case and then we used a metallic sliver foil for the hot foil stamping to mimic the embossing on the dust jacket, so this one is really tough for an amateur like me to photograph well, but I think our collectors will be very pleased when they see it in person:

For anyone who is interested, we found about a dozen of our DUMA KEY slipcases while organizing the warehouse:

http://www.cemeterydance.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/X_CASES034.jpg

Just the slipcases, NO BOOKS, but they fit the Scribner hardcover.

I put the product page back on the site here while supplies last:

For those of you who ordered our Stephen King Grab Bag a while back, the second shipment should be going out in the next few days. I finally had a chance to finish organizing the production shelves, and I did my very best to try to find something for each person who made a special request. I can't guarantee I was able to, but I tried. Dan is still swamped in the warehouse, but these will start going out ASAP.

A couple of UPS orders actually made it out the door today, but Mindy has left for the day, so tracking won't be sent until tomorrow. The USPS orders are being packed, but the post office won't pick them up until Wednesday or Thursday. Are there any news about The Dark Tower Companion and Stephen King's The Dark Tower: The Complete Concordance? Can we see these books this year?

Here are the latest updates!

The Dark Tower Companion by Bev Vincent:
The book has been proofread, the signature sheets are signed, and it will be sent to the printer later this year and published in early 2015. Please note that our edition has several more updates and material not available in other versions of the book.

Stephen King's The Dark Tower: The Complete Concordance (Revised & Updated!) by Robin Furth:
The book is completely proofread and as soon as the signature sheets are back from the author, we'll send this one to the printer. We expect it'll be published in the first half of 2015.

Hey, for those of you who are expecting a Stephen King Grab Bag shipment this week, do NOT look at the shipping confirmation email IF you want the contents to be a surprise when they arrive. I had to make notes on all of the orders as I sorted through the items I had when I was trying to get each of you at least one item I thought you'd like from the suggestions you sent me. So the items I finally ended up with for you might be listed IN the email and will ruin the surprise -- if you want to be surprised. ;) Sorry if I couldn't get you something you wanted, but I did try my best!

[Killing Ghost's] creepy and wayward nature reminded me of David Wong's "John Dies at the End", and made me wonder if CD has ever heard of that book, the soon-to-be-released movie based on it, or the upcoming sequel, "This Book is Full of Spiders". I'd love to see a deluxe/illustrated version of those.
I recommended that book to CD back in February, 2012. I'll be expecting my commission check (either from CD or David Wong) in the mail.

From the P&J thread (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?377-Your-New-Pride-and-Joy!&p=875855&viewfull=1#post875855)

My Cemetery Dance Grab Bag came in yesterday. Overall, I would say I'm pretty happy with the selection since I do not own any of the items.

The two signed limited editions are of writers whose work I'm not familiar with: Gideon's Corpse by Preston/Child and Indian Summer by the late Rick Hautala.

The unsigned editions are right up my alley with Screamplays contributions by two of my all-time favorite collectible authors King and Laymon and of course the SK Movie Trivia book.

The publications have contributions by King, Hill, Rocky Wood, Ketchum, Garton, and many others.

The Lettered Edition (PC) is Pork Pie Hat by Peter Straub

With my $50 gift certificate, I'll be ordering Bev's new chapbook (signed), and The Loveliest Dead S/L by Ray Garton.

Obviously, most of these are worth well under CD's asking price, but I think I at least broke even.

image 2 (http://s68.photobucket.com/user/bookking/media/books/IMG_5357.jpg.html)My grab bag was identical, including the lettered Pork Pie Hat. It's okay to be jealous of my collection...

Mine came today and was almost the same list. Looks like I don’t make it into the PPH club. I ended up with The Buffalo Hunter Lettered Edition (PC), which I am pretty happy about. Nothing against PPH, it's just that I have been wanting a copy of TBH.

The trade publisher is holder of the rights for almost any book that is previously published and they are the ones we license the rights from. Occasionally, they have specific requests such as no additional artwork, etc.

Brian, would you happen to know the production numbers for these "new" Full Dark No Stars Limited and Gift edition cover art proofs? We'd like to add the numbers to the Proofs pages if possible.

There were 20 review copies of FDNS with the Gift Edition cover and 20 review copies with the Limited Edition cover. The content is the same otherwise. Also, there are 20 review copies of IT featuring the Orbik cover artwork, some of which went into the Grab Bag.

For those who are interested in this sort of information, these were never distributed to reviewers or booksellers. For FDNS, we realized our edition was going to sell out long before a review could be written. For IT we decided after the review copies were printed that a big trade paperback wasn't the best representation of a $125 book. Essentially, we worried that it wouldn't really impress the recipient.

Just a little behind the scenes information for those who are interested in such matters.

Those will vary wildly. For each round of proofreading, the pages might be sent to anywhere from one to three proofreaders at the same time. We don't always keep all of the corrected copies, but we do like to keep at least one clean set of each pass for future reference. We've had books go through 6 or even 7 rounds of proofreading for various reasons.

Yes, I think so! If you haven't, send me an email at brianfreeman@cemeterydance.com and I'll look into it for you. All of these had to be entered manually, so it's entirely possible your order is on hold and needs processed.

Just got my SK grab bag, second shipment, Very Cool! and also got the Duma Key slipcase, having a lovely Cemetery Dance kind of morning!

Congrats Tommy. Sounds like we've ordered all the some stuff! Which proofs did you get?

Thanks Jon! Sorry been out all day and just saw that you asked, I got the unbound inter-office proof copy of Secretary of Dreams Vol. 1 and it has 1st written on it, not sure what that means and for the review copy I received, I got Secretary of Dreams Vol. 2, do you know which ones you have yet Jon?

Great Tommy! I should be getting Doctor Sleep interoffice unbound proof and Billy Blockade proof. Hopefully, they will arrive early next week. Can't wait.

Very Nice! Congrats to you and everyone else who got this really cool SK grab bag!

Hey Brian, could you tell me what the number written on the side of my SOD v2 proof means, it is 8246, I'm sure it is significant of something specific, also about the unbound interoffice proofs, are there roughly the same number of copies of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd proofs that went out?

For the SOD 2 review copies, we numbered them before sending them out to reviewers and booksellers years ago. There weren't actually 8246, of course. :) We started at some random number because we didn't want the numbering to mean anything to the recipient. It was just a little experiment. We wanted to see which specific copies ended up on eBay as "new and unread," just for our future reference.

For the unbound interoffice proofs, the numbers are wildly different from book to book. Some books actually ended up with 6 or 7 rounds, for example. Some books only needed 4 rounds. There are multiple copies per round, too. Those counts in each round vary, too. It's pretty much a matter of how the project is going, where we are in the time frame of production, and how many staff members or outside proofreaders are available at the time.

Special alert for those of you who have been having trouble checking out with PayPal after redeeming a coupon or Gift Certificate!

It is possible this has finally been fixed. Right now, there are TWO PayPal options on the checkout page. I was able to get a combination of coupons and Gift Certificates and PayPal to work without issue by selected the FIRST PayPal in the list.

I have more testing to do, but it if seems to continue to work, we will switch all of our PayPal processing over to that first method and delete the other method that wasn't always working right with coupons and certs.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns about an order, send Mindy or me an email. Thank you for your patience!

It was the access to offers like this--and the early notice of new releases--that encouraged me to re-up in the Collectors Club for another year.

Hey Brian - what do you guys have to do with these? I know there are rules, laws even (right?), that dictate what has to happen with books as they're remaindered, covers torn off, etc. But I don't know much more than the fact that such rules exist and that publishers and sellers must follow. Can you enlighten a little?

With this much damage, the publisher will be pulping the book via some method of recycling, whatever they've deemed the best for them.

We so rarely see this level of damage with our own books that I can't recall what we do with them when this happens to us. We recycle them somehow, I think.

Most of our damage is so minimal that we feel comfortable putting the books in a "dinged" Grab Bag where we say they're not like "new" but they're still readable! This one doesn't quite pass that test. ;)

Tactical. I like that. I would love to have been listening in when the recipients were informed that they wouldn't be receiving future Proofs/ARCs, just to hear the stumbling mumbling responses. Priceless.

EDIT: I picked up SOD 2 #14320 on eBay, but it's been a long while ... couple of years ago.
