ha! ;)

I hope folks dig these books -- they've been a lot of fun to put together and some of the artwork is really unique!

Did anyone else see that lettered DT Concordance go for $100 on eBay today? Makes me sad because I'm not the one who got it (Thanks, Comcast, for knocking my Internet out this weekend!)

That's what the market is, particularly on a 3-day (US) holiday weekend.

It's a moot point anyway, because I was trying to sell some books in order to support a bidding war. But, the books didn't sell, and my Internet was down, so you got it at the opening bid (Congrats!). My other plan was to use CDSAVE50 to get it for $250 direct from cemeterydance if the bidding got crazy, but that didn't happen either.

For sure.
The only thing is, when will the next two volumes be published?
I believe I've seen the third book in my local bookstore, so the series is complete, but I won't start reading before I've got my set of LR books.
Sometime 2014??

Both are being designed this spring, and Troy is working on all of the artwork, so it's really going to be more about "when can everyone sign the sheets" than anything else! I'll send out a note when the schedule seems firm. :)

Might see if any pop up on the secondary market. I'm about a third of the way through the final book and love the series so far.

What color is the portfolio? Is it the same color as the "Gift Edition" or is it a little more on the red side?
I would love to have seen it in black with silver lettering or red with silver lettering. Just my opinion.

Crazy Question: Will the Lettered SOD Volumes fit in the Limited SOD Traycases?

Just curious. For display purposes, it may be easier to put the Lettered in the Limited Tray cases. They will fit better on the shelf!

Not knocking the Lettered Cases AT ALL. Just looking at all display options....

I actually have NO idea. The Lettered Editions were all bound by hand, with different boards than the Limited Edition, but that doesn't mean they didn't end up being the same size!

11/22/63 traycases are still on schedule for this spring.

Full Dark, No Stars and It Lettered Editions should be done this year. They're not in the same queue with the other Lettered Editions because they're being made by the person who handles all of our King Lettered Editions (and only the King Lettered Editions because of his expense :) ).

Yes it is. This was a "Dinged/Returned/Imperfect" book grab bag we sold earlier this year. It was $49 for at least 7 books worth a certain dollar amount (can't remember what that was). The Fourth Coming Grab Bag, was essentially pre-ordering a number of un-announced books which you will receive as they come out.

I'm still waiting on the slipcases for 11/22/63 to arrive.
Have they been sent out yet?

My slipcase came yesterday.

Cool!!! So they are "In Process"!!! You got a US SC. right? I'm waiting on a UK slipcase, since I put my signed copy in a snazzy "Dolso" wooden case that is just "remarkable"!!!

To answer you both. Yes, I'm pretty sure I posted a pic of the case in my "Collection thread", and I think the cases are going for $125 a piece if I recall. Though I believe the price fluctuates relative to the amount of coins you request. Best to ask Dick directly, but there's a ballpark figure for ya!!!!

Artwork and signature sheets are all done, and the portfolio itself is rolling with our SK slipcase/traycase people, so by the end of the month is still the target date. These will all need to be collated and assembled by hand, so it will be a slow shipping process, but we'll let you know when they're here and when they start out the door!

I want to say 99.9% of the t-shirt orders will have shipped as of today. I hope everyone likes them.
So who is the unlucky 1/1,000 person that has to wait?

I think there's a small handful of people who still owe shipping or something for their orders.

In the bottom right corner of each post you should see beside where it says reply with quote a quote symbol in a quote bubble with a plus sign beside it. Click that + sign on each post you want to quote excluding the last one you wish to quote. On the last post click the reply with quote link. You can do this with (in theory at least) as many posts as you wish to quote. After you click the reply with quote you'll be taken to where you actually reply to each post. Then just post as normal.

Thanks Jerome!

Yea you probably shouldn't post fake explanations. As truthfully I pretty much considered your fake explanation cheating, well not exactly cheating, but outside the spirit of the contest. I replied to your mail with some options, since you offered for a different prize since you beat the system for my contest.

In the same email, I recommended that he hold onto "The Strain" for a different contest, and said I would be cool with receiving something "less awesome". Everything has arrived for the IT Artwork Portfolios. All 500 sets sold out prepublication, so there are a lot of orders to handle. The orders are being printed/prepared while the signature sheets are numbered. The art prints still need to be collated with the sig sheets, etc, and shipping these will be a slow process due to the labor intensive process involved, so please be patient. Here are a few photos of the arrival if you're interested:

Shipping is coming along pretty well on the art portfolios. We have packed about 130 today. Some of those will leave with UPS today, the rest will ship with the USPS in the morning. Dave'll be here packing by himself tomorrow, but he expects to get at least another 100 out the door with UPS tomorrow. Just a heads up, that if you requested a specific number or ordered multiple copies, your's probably will not start shipping till late Monday, early Tuesday.

No way to know, unfortunately, because the books are coming off the dinged shelf, which contains copies of anything we've published or sold (in the case of books from other publishers -- we have some nice Gauntlet stuff there right now!) in the last 2 years, plus any returns that come in during the next seven weeks! We still get returns on books from 2010, which is way outside the terms with the distributors, but what can you do, right? :)

Brian? Any updates for The Exorcist Anniversary edition?

Latest update from about three weeks ago:

http://www.lonelyroadbooks.com/news.html

"The book is designed and being proofread now. We're still right on track for a summer publication date.

As I mentioned last time, originally I planned on having 6 color artwork plates in this special edition, but Caniglia went overboard and turned in 13 (!) color pieces, so I'm breaking the budget and adding all of them to the book.

In addition, Mr. Blatty has provided an introduction and an afterword that won't be appearing in any other edition, so those have been added to the Lonely Road Books special edition as an unannounced bonus.

Finally, there is also a special unannounced bonus for the Lettered Edition customers: because Caniglia turned in so much extra artwork, there will be entirely different artwork on the Lettered Edition's dust jacket."

http://www.lonelyroadbooks.com/news.html

Sorry. Didn't mean to seem impatient or redundant, just anxiously anticipating this tome!!!! Next to King I think Blatty is my favorite Horror writer!!!!

I won't look. I'm weird because I do not want to see the books I've ordered until I very carefully tear open the box and see the book emerge from the bubble wrap and styrofoam popcorn balls. For the same reason I won't watch movie trailers. I like to be surprised!

Hi,

Any idea when this is going to be completed?

Cemetery Dance magazine #62: The William Peter Blatty Special Issue?

Cheers, Dave

It should ship this summer!

Thanks, looking forward to reading this. Kicking myself for not ordering the anniversary edition!

Floating Dragon: The 30th Anniversary Special Limited Edition
by Peter Straub
Oversized Signed & Numbered Deluxe Limited Edition
A Huge 700 Page Special Edition!

"A deliciously imaginative story of hauntings and monsters."
— San Francisco Chronicle

Hi Folks!

We're very pleased to announce our new beautiful deluxe special edition of Floating Dragon: The 30th Anniversary Special Limited Edition by Peter Straub, which is already selling extremely quickly thanks to the strong response from our Peter Straub collectors!

About the Book:
The terrors afflicting the sleepy town of Hampstead, Connecticut, were beyond imagination.

Sparrows dropping dead from the trees like rotten fruit, disfiguring diseases spreading like wildfire, inexplicable murders and child drownings shattering the lives of the citizens—never can such a list of horrors have afflicted one town.

But the evil madness had a long history.

A catastrophe had struck Hampstead every thirty years since its foundation 300 years before — yet only Graham Williams, a writer and descendant of one of the original founders, had looked into the 'black summers' and their mysterious origins.

When he discovers that descendants of the three other original settlers are back living in the town, he knows it will be the blackest summer yet...

I've tried Straub. Really have. Floating Dragon, Ghost Story, Koko, as well as The Talisman (ugh). None of those did anything for me. The only Straub-associated book I've enjoyed was Black House, which I loved. (I credit King!)

Well, I don't know anything about the CDCC, but people who paid $59 for the "Forthcoming Grab Bag" will receive this book, plus three others. That's a pretty sweet deal.

Thanks for posting the link! The term "dinged" is probably a little strong for MOST of these copies -- the worst ones have a bump to the corner of the slipcase -- but to make things easy, we're just calling them all dinged. :) If someone still needs a copy and orders one of these, I think you'll be very pleased!

As someone who has ordered and received one of these "dinged" copies from CD, I can 100% recommend getting one if you haven't already. Mine had no dings at all that I could identify. Well it didn't until an earthquake knocked it off the shelf and split the slipcase apart in sections.....

Anyway - get one from CD if you need one!

I might buy this limited...don't know yet.

But I will say that "Floating Dragon" absolutely terrified me when I read it in the '80s...probably the scariest book I had ever read up until that time, even more then "Pet Sematery."

As readers probably remember - "I'm lonely...I'm afraid."

I can attest to this as well! I ordered a "dinged" copy of Knowing Darkness and was able to use a 50% off CDCC coupon at the time it was offered and got it for $75! It arrived still in the original shrink wrap and from what I can tell... near perfect condition!

Thanks for the Knowing Darkness orders! These will be a little slow to ship because we have to finish shipping the trade hardcover of The Wind Through the Keyhole (started today so people will get their orders next week around the publication date) and then The Dropper and Killing Ghost. Plus, even though the books are being sold as "dinged," Dan still wants to pack them really well to prevent additional issues in transit and Knowing Darkness is slow to pack anyways because of the size and weight. But we'll let you know when we start the shipping process!

Hey Brian, so can we assume that any copies that aren't currently dinged will be?

Depends on whether Dan and Dave have a clumsy day. ;) These are actually all coming off a back corner of the returns/problems shelf, and some of them were just returned copies because a customer changed their mind or didn't know how the heck they were ever going to store a book this big (really -- we had two of those!). So conditions may vary and some are probably as brand new as can be, but we have to get them out of here to make room for the four new books we're dealing with (two of which are trade editions, which means a good number of retailer/distributor returns), and this seemed like a good way to do that and also give everyone a chance at a very cool book for a good price. ;)

Brian, please don't send me a returned copy. That would be a used book. I bought a new book. :D Save those used books for someone else. The returned books should actually be selling a little cheaper since you never know if the customer looked through it or not (unless the book is shrinkwrapped).

I'm hoping that'll be the case for most of these because Dan is really picky about what books he'll send out for normal orders, so I think a lot of these are in surprisingly great shape, but of course we recommend every one who orders through this deal expect some kind of dent or scratch. The Twelve actually doesn't have a slipcase because The Passage didn't have one either. I screwed that field up when I entered it and no one else noticed when we proofread the page. That said, the pricing for both editions IS still the same and will remain the same for the third book as well.

Yeah, the New York publisher moved the book from August to December to October where we're pretty sure it is staying for good. We had not announced our edition of the book previously, nor had we announced a publication date for our edition, so our edition's pub date hasn't changed. ;) Although we cannot publish before the trade edition, we're aiming to have our Limited Edition out the door within a few weeks of theirs if all goes well!

I bet there's a pretty good chance you'll be able to do that anyway depending on where you bought from. Dealer? eBay? Drop me a line via email and we'll figure it out! :)

Brian

I apologize in advance for asking this, but what is the best way to get notification of the release date and pre-order date? I'm a CDCC member and on the CD email list. Is that enough? I really, really enjoyed "The Passage" and eagerly await the next installment!!!!! Sorry, if I sound like a newbie!!!! LOL

Maybe a "pre-emptive thread" should be started? Just a thought.

CDCC is usually enough. In the case of The Twelve, we give everyone who bought The Passage from us notification and a first shot at ordering before everyone else. I would assume we'll send an a mass email out to the CDCC customers then (as we usually do), Brian would know better though as that's his department.

Yep, CDCC members will be the next group notified so they have first shot at the remaining copies. After that, we'll announce the book publicly.

In my experience, collectors ALWAYS drop off after the first book in a series, so there will definitely be some copies of The Twelve available at retail to collectors who missed out on or skipped The Passage. I'll have a better idea when we email the CDCC how many copies are left, and I'll mention that in the note for the CDCC when I write it up.

Thanks! :)

Wishing a dusty old copy of The Passage could be found and dropped in my upcoming Grab Bag :(

...and what's up with that giant alien egg-laying pod thing hanging from the ceiling in the Cemetery Dance warehouse? :D

It's viral marketing for Ridley Scott's Prometheus! ;)

Or maybe it's a packing peanut dispenser:

But I kind of wish it had something to do with Prometheus. :)

What are CDCC members? Sorry for asking a dumb question. I'm really hoping to get a copy of The Twelve as I read and loved The Passage.

We have a yearly program called the Cemetery Dance Collectors Club, which costs $99 per year.

Members are emailed special offers that aren't available to the general mailing list, such as "CDCC Only Grab Bags" and discounts on books from other publishers. Sometimes we'll only have a handful of copies of a book from another publisher, so we'll offer them to the CDCC.

Members also receive discounts on almost every new book we announce. If a discount if offered to the general mailing list, the CDCC's discount is larger.

The CDCC is notified first about all new Cemetery Dance books, usually the day before the general public. The only exception is a book that is part of a series. In those cases, we notify the customers who bought the previous book first, then the CDCC.

Members also have the option of selecting 4 or 5 items each year for "free" -- they only pay shipping. T-shirts, hats, Glenn Chadbourne Limited Edition art prints, etc.

Finally, members receive an exclusive signed Limited Edition book that is only printed for the CDCC. No copies are sold to the general public or retailers.

The CDCC 2.0 (our second year of the program) began back in August 2011 and will conclude this July. So far we have sent members 80 special offers, advance notifications, etc.

I hope this information is helpful!

I know this is horrible to consider, but I received my copy of "The Passage" from Jerome. Therefore, it would not be in "my profile" so to speak. Can Mindy add it? I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the sequel!!! Sorry for being a PITA!!!

We really can't add books to customer accounts that weren't ordered from us because we don't have a way to indicate that it's not a real sale for tax and inventory purposes, unfortunately!
