Hey Losties!

I'm setting up a betting pool for Season 5 in the casino, so you can start working on those theories and putting your beambucks where your mouth is :D

All bets close on the 1st February 2009.

To bet, go into the casino and select Sports Betting. (You can click on the arrow at the top of the football picks section to hide it.) Then scroll down to the Lost Predictions.

Select your bet from any/all of the event categories. You can only place one bet for each event. The casino also only allowed me a maximum of 10 outcomes - which worked out fine for most events, except the Islanders where if you check "Cindy, Zach, Emma dies" you'll win if either of them do.

The way the casino is set up, you can only really place bets on theories that have yes/no answers, which is why I chose to go with "Who dies?" predictions.

However, over the next few days, I'll post some more detailed bets in here, which you can bet on by going into detail yourselves with your own theories. I'll then pay subsequent winners from my beambucks hoarde

Ok! I've been combing through fan theories at Lostpedia and have come up with the following theories that we can bet on.

I'll ask a question or ask you to further expound on an existing theory. Choose as many or as little as you like and post in here with your answers/theories, quoting the question you're answering.

I'll pay $1000 for every theory you get right (by the end of Season 5). Any unanswered questions can be carried over to Season 6.

Be careful over how specific you get though. For instance, I think that Charlotte will turn out to be Ben's biological daughter. I think that Annie might turn out to be her mother. However, if I was betting and said "I think Charlotte is Ben and Annie's daughter." and we subsequently learn she is Ben and someone else's daughter I would not win my bet. If I simply put "I think Charlotte is Ben's daughter." I would win that bet.

Any questions - ask away :D

*How will Jack/Ben persuade Kate to return to the island?

*What is the favour Kate is doing for Sawyer?

*Why is Hurley (and presumably the rest of the Oceanic 6) lying to walt about Michael's death? (To recap, in No Place Like Home, when Walt visits Hurley he asks him why the Oceanic 6 are lying to the media about what happened on the island. Hurley tells him it's to protect the people stuck on the island. "Like my dad?" Walt asks, to which Hurley replies "Like your dad, yeah.")

*What was Alpert testing young Locke for (in Cabin Fever)? Which item should Locke have chosen?

*How did Locke die?

*Why must his body be returned to the island?

*Why must the Oceanic 6 return to the island?

*Will Ben instruct Sayid to kill Penny Widmore?

*Why does Sun wish to team up with Widmore, in what way does she need his help?

*According to quantum physics, Charlie (and Desmond) could be temporally immortal. Is this how he has been able to appear to Hurley, or is it Hurley's guilt/mental illness?

*Just what is the deal with Christian Shephard?! (Exec. producer Carlton Cuse has stated, "...in terms of (being) actually, physically, corporally in existence, he's dead.")

*Why did Christian take Claire to Jacob's cabin? Why leave Aaron behind?

*How will Ben return to the island when he is supposedly banished?

*What are the "rules" between Ben and Widmore?

*Does Ben have any power over Lostzilla? (Hinted at when Ben summons Lostzilla to attack Keamy's men.)

*Are Jacob and Lostzilla linked, how?

*Will Walt have to return to the island?

*Will Desmond have to return to the island?

*Why did the Others let Walt leave the island?

*Did Desmond lie to Charlie (in Greatest Hits) when he said he saw Claire and Aaron being rescued by a helicopter in his vision?

*Is time travel involved in moving the island?

*What is the significance of the two skeletons found in Season 2 (in the caves), some fans speculate they could be Kate and Jack/Jacob and partner/Rose and Bernard - does this have any bearing on the moving of the island, or the need for the Oceanic 6 to return?

*Why does Daniel Faraday need a constant?

*What happened to daniel and the other people in the boat when the island moved?

*Why does Daniel have such bad problems with his memory?

*How is Charlotte connected to the island?

*Why did Miles choose to stay on the island?

*Free theory bet - submit a theory not outlined above, that you believe will be resolved in Season 5.

I predict that Gilligan will stumble and fall on the Professor's coconut radio and they will never get off of the island!

I predict the bets will get high in the casino for this. ;)

The bolded stuff is to be answered/voted on in here, as it wasn't possible to pose these sorts of questions in the casino ;)

Originally, I had a Truman Show-like theory.

I thought maybe all of this was being faked and put on TV. I don't think that's plausible anymore.

I think that Eddie Dean will turn up on the island and end up having a love child with Kate and the sexy Astrailian girl. And roland will turn out to be the black mist that floats around eating people.
