View Full Version : Suicide or Not?
A man was found dead in his study. He was slumped over his desk and a gun was in his hand. There was a cassette recorder on his desk. When the police entered the room and pressed the play button on the tape recorder they heard..."I can't go on. I have nothing to live for." Then there was the sound of a gunshot. How did the detective immediately know that the man had been murdered and it wasn't a suicide?

(just happen to know it... from school...)
Thanks for answering Jean. But since you know it, I'm glad you're keeping quiet. I got this one from a friend and it took me forever to answer it correctly.

I don't know it so my answer might be wrong but... if you kill yourself you cannot take the tape to the beginning - because you are dead - and the tape must go on and on... so when the policeman pressed the play button on the tape recorder he shouldn't have heard anything and he should have needed to turn back the tape to be able to listen to the last words of the victim.
Aw, I wish it could have gone on a little longer than that.
Great job answering that.
