CPU, yours is way too scary.
Anyway... why don't they have hair? They look even scarier and more insane without hair.

Darkthoughts

I voted Corey :P I like it because it's insane :D

Letti - you asked me this in the other thread:
How did you do it if you don't mind me asking.
I drew the picture of Mia in pencil and ink, scanned it onto the computer. Took a photo of some castle ruins and used a "neon" edit option on it and tinted it red (for the CK) cut out the Mia sketch and pasted it in, put a red tint on that too...fiddled with the contrast a bit...added the text...hey presto ;)

Mainly because realistic looking hair is insanely difficult to model correctly

The Suse model actually did have hair in the original modeling program I was using but failed to export correctly into the renderer, leaving her looking like she has a stocking cap on :P

When I first CPU's rendition , I withdrew my submission, because frankly I didn't stand a chance, it was in my opinion sooo very good. That said, I saw Lisa's and said...that's it , she's Mia. Lisa, well done, you got my vote as well. brilliant work you two!!

And did you have all of these in your head before you started to work on it?

I voted Lisa's as well, but CPU's is still creepily good. :D

And did you have all of these in your head before you started to work on it?

Not to start with. I was just going to draw a pregnant figure looking over her shoulder, stood in shadows.

Then I was just going to draw her face, with a sly sort of smile on it...then I thought - nah, she's not totally evil...she was desperate and she got duped...so I drew her as a sad looking woman and wanted the castle grounds to represent the conundrum she'd been conned into.

i voted for ya... just liked the composition and style better.

btw... i agree, hair is hard to do... it took me a while to get the hang of it... still not sure if i really do.... but i don't do it via rendering.
using photoimpact program... i airbrushed the added hair to below pic - for a friend who wanted to know what she might look like with long hair (which she never had before). the original is on the left.

I love that you didn't picture her evil.

These are both so good I honestly don't know if I can vote at all.

I'm going with Dark Thoughts's Mia. The other is great in rendering and level of detail (and it is rather scary) but the second just encapsulates her better for me.

Do I have to be the first one to point out the 800 pound gorilla in the room??

CPU's entry looks like a still shot from a really odd porn!

I voted for yours CPU as it reminds me of a Saturday night a few weeks ago at the swing klub . (It was a guy in a spider costume...it was costume night. I'll spare you further details but it was a fun night.)

This was a tough one. In the end, I went with Lisa's as I think she did a great job of capturing the sadness of Mia. I do think Corey's rendering skills are getting quite good and his piece was very impressive.

Yeah, Corey this piece is terrifyingly good, dude, you could make a living with work like this.

Congrats DARKTHOUGHTS!

Interesting, We should start a thread and tell stories of things seen and done...so Matt can ban our asses!

Psssst...Boomme, read the spoiler

(The ballerina bent over a barstool in front of "Laura Kroft the womb raider" and her husband "Indiana Bone" was the best I have ever seen.)

:orely: That's awesome for you to say. Now if that is the case Darkers,(you have 2 )
What say you send it to CPU if he doesn't have one? A submission as spooky as that one needs recognition too me thinks! (it really is creepy good ya know CPU.)
I wish someday one of my submissions could make it into towerpedia, such an honor!:)
I believe your range of talent is exceptional Lisa. From dark & lonely to jovial pirates!:pirate:
Well done, well done!:)
