Hi. I'm sarah aka haras aka harasarah aka maerlyn :D I'm 32 years old and a happily married mother of 2. I live just outside Sacramento, California. I grew up mostly in Kansas City, Ks but moved around a lot through the years. I love to travel, relax, read, play with my kids, and visit with family and friends. In high school I was a huge Cure fan wearing rotation Cure shirts and converse high tops to school each day. When I was a junior in high school I discovered The Beastie Boys and never looked back. I met my hubby when I was 19 and a year and a half later we were married. Since we got married so young, we waited five years to have kids.

I started reading King when I was 14 or 15 years old. My first book was Carrie. I read his stuff here and there but never dared reading The Dark Tower until I knew there was an end in sight. I HATE waiting. It stresses me out. Anyhoo, Stephen King was reviewing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix when he announced that he was finishing The Dark Tower. I stared with The Gunslinger and plowed right through it. I had to wait *gasp* a couple of months for Wolves of the Calla. I found others online who shared my passion, my love, my obsession with Roland and the rest is internet history….

Hi Maerlyn,

Hi alinda!!!

There are many beautiful natural places in California,
which ones have you visited, is there a favorite?

I haven't visited as much as I would like. Our kids are just getting to the point where we can leave them for a few days. Last month we went to Widsor (just outside Napa) for five days and it was wonderful. I would say that our favorite spot is Carmel, Ca.

Which do you prefer, a quiet night in, or a night on the town?

oh a quiet night in for sure.

How much schooling have you had after high school?

I've had about a total of two years of college. I just usually take classes here and there at the local community college from the city we happen to be living at.

What do you do for a living, or do you stay with your children ?

I'm a stay at home mom and I own a teddy bear stuffing business.

What is the best place you have traveled to? Why?

Paris. I went in 1998 with my family and my Dad busted our asses all over the city and we saw some pretty neat stuff.

Also, on our second anniversary we went to Vancouver, BC. It is still one of the best trips in memory.

Hi Sarah!

Hi Patrick!

When you hit Pizza My Heart, what's your favorite slice?

whatever has black olives on it. I haven't eaten there in a year! :O

What is your favorite wine?

Rombauer Chardonnay

Where did you meet your husband?

at college
Who gets up with the kids most days?

It seems like we are all up at the same time these days. But Dean my six year old gets himself up and such.

Are you considering having more kids?

What clubs were you part of in HS (if any)?

The club of I'm going to smoke more weed than you club.
Is there any celebrity you can't stand?

pretty much most of them. but one that stands out is jessicaparis

Will your children share your love of novels?
I read to them everyday and they see me reading alone. I hope they pick it up themselves.

Yeah, when they start getting up on their own and making their own cereal, it makes your weekend mornings much more relaxing.

How is your business different from Build-A-Bear?
Do you go to the party (vs. the party going to their stores)?

next time we come to the bay, I'll look you up. we can all meet for pizza or something. mmmmm

I just emailed my hubby the wine link and told him to pick up a bottle on his way home. I'll let you know what I think.

My teddy bear business is very low key. I do hand stuffing your own teddy bear parties in your home vs going to a store and using a machine. I either deliver it to your home or I do free shipping.

I mostly just do it around the Sacramento area because I only just advertise in Sacramento Parent magazine. I'll probably expand all this in a year or so once all the kids are in school

What was the last concert you went to?

Green Day in *gasp* 2005. I did have tickets to The White Stripes concert last fall but they canceled their tour a week before the show. I was seriously traumatized.

What was the last major sporting event you went to?

I used to go to baseball games all the time. But I think the last time was The Mariners in Seattle ages ago.

Which series are you planning on reading next?

I'm going to hopefully start reading A Song of Ice and Fire this year. I own A Game of Thrones but haven't been able to get past page 30. I just need to buckle down and getter done.

Hi Sarah :)

I wanted to start off by saying that since I joined the site you have always been super cool and super sweet to me, so thanks for that!

awww! Thanks :)
Now on with the questions...

Do you play any instruments?

I took guitar lessons for two years and totally suck. I also took piano lessons for three years and totally suck. so um no, i don't play anything.

If so, how long have you played?

see above. :P

If not, which one would you most like to learn to play? Why?

I seriously wish I was musically inclined but alas, I am not and have finally seen the light.

If you could learn to play one specific song, what would it be?

I think at one time I could play Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd but honestly I can rap a bit but that is as far as it goes.

If you could see any musician/band (past or present) in concert, who would it be?

The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beastie Boys on the Check Your Head Tour, The White Stripes

Do you have a favorite concert venue?

Well, I hear that The Gorge in Washington is supposed to be the best. My hubby saw Radiohead there about five years ago and he said it was the best ever. I really wanted to go there a couple of years ago when The Beastie Boys did the Sasquatch Tour.

One of my favorite concerts was in 1992 when Pearl Jam did a free concert in KU. Oh eddie vedar

That's all I have for now. Thanks for the time.

and darkers, I think we are starting the planning stages of a London trip that would take place in two summers. :excited:
And thus I begin the first item on my To Do List. :D

You are right to enjoy your 3-year old while she's at home. Our youngest just started kindergarten and it's still a shock.

Did your husband pick up that bottle of wine?

Our local BevMo was out. Can you believe that? But at least it is there and we know where we can find the stock. I'll keep you posted.

Maer that's ace!!!! With the kids or just you and Jay?
Whoa...if anyone cool is playing around that time we should totally go see them - there are so many awesome venues in London

Yeah for sure. NO KIDS NO WAY! I'm not hauling children to London. Jay's parents will probably come and stay at our house when we go. It is all in the early stages but it looks like September or October of 2010 is what we are thinking. We all gotta hook up.

If you owned an elephant, what would you name it?

Marley for sure! I mean is there really any other name for a pet these days?

Apart from Vegas, what event are you most looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to going to Toronto next summer. I gotta get my passport renewed first. It expired :(

I am getting way better at cooking. I mostly only cook Mexican. I am perfecting my salsa recipe at the moment. I keep going down to my local taco shop and asking the girl there what I'm doing wrong. Basically less is more.

I try and cook all sorts of basic stuff but mostly I just do American and Mexican.

Howdy maerlyn-

Hi ya!

(1) Do you lust for Johnny Depp?

probably not lust but yeah, I wouldn't mind getting a bit dirty with Johnny Depp. :fairy:

(2) Who would you most like to spy on if you were invisible?

hmmm. I'm sure there is someone but no ones jumping to mind.

(3) Did you love or hate the ending to the Dark Tower (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=1281)?

At first I loved it. It was such a crazy ride and when it was over I was really happy with it. Since then, my joy has calmed down a bit and I wish that Roland wasn't in a loop. That he could get to the tower and have it be his "happily ever after". But I don't live in la la land so I've just got to suck it up and deal with what King gave us. I still love the whole story obsessively.

(4) As you were reading the DT, did you guess the ending beforehand?

No. I also stayed out of all the theory rooms ant tdt.net so I wouldn't get any ideas. I tried not to think how it would end so I could be surprised...and I was.

(5) Are you gonna gamble in Vegas, and if so, what game attracts you?

Yeah, I'll probably play black jack. Daggers and I want to teach Fever how to play poker. That'll be fun. You want in on the game?

The shortest way to happiness for myself is choosing to live your life like you've always wanted. Also, by surrounding myself with people whom I love and love me in return. Family and friends are so important to me.

Here cough syrups with codeine generally require a prescription. Pharmacies can sell them without a prescription, but usually won't due to "abuse". There are also prescription cough syrups with Dilaudid and similar drugs that work rather well. There are other drugs which can substitute a pennicillin drug also.
