View Full Version : Last lines....a little twist my old one. *SPOILERS about everything*

Ok folks I'm feelin that seeing how the first lines game is going well I'll throw in another to go with it... I think this needs no explainin but in case you smoked a little tonight I will explain.....It works the same exact way the first lines game does...cept one thing...yep...you guessed it...it has to be the very last line in a published King story..anything at all as long as it was published...and it has to be the story itself...not the epilogue, or authors note..or Bangor, Maine...the actual story...I think you get the idea....this is not as easy as you may think...I will do the honors of starting us off with an easy one...

"But now the hour is late, and of that is another tale, for another day."

there it is..hope it's as big a hit as the first lines...feelin brave?

I was thinking about starting this game (your original thread gave me the idea of course) but I thought nobody would dare to play it. :D Because if you haven't read all King's books you can meet a spoiler anytime.
We will see.

You bring up a very good point about spoilers.....I didn't take that into consideration...if you want to mark the title with a spoiler thingie go for it...

If you set a limit, I think it should be 24 hours since some folks have limited access time and/or cannot post from work/school. Of course, I am biased since I am one of those people. I've missed several opportunities in the first lines game for just that reason.

and you know, as long as we're changing the title (and of course by we i mean you letti my love :) ). why not add the word "on" after the word "twist" since i don't think even "bangoskank1 the great and terrible" has the nerve to call us all his "old one". he's arrogant ( :P ) but i don't think he has a death wish.

wow, could i have been anymore parenthetical in that sentence? or used any more quote marks?

Parentheses (and I speak only for myself here (although I've been known to speak for others at times)) can be great fun (and infinitely amusing) when used correctly (or incorrectly).

Oh, and if I'm an old one, I'm one of Lovecraft's Great Old Ones. Some call me "the Cthulhu lady", but I assure you that I am a lady in name only.

If you mean a copy of each book then that's not so difficult. It can be done pretty cheaply. If you got like some of the collectors here though you can just plan on spending an insane amount of money, and devoting your whole life to the hobby. ...and STILL there would be stuff missing from your collection.

Adumbros
09-11-2008, 08:50 AM
no no...not just the books. if i get back into it i'm goin whole-hog, just like i did last time. every book, every collection even containing a foreword, last word, or introduction by King, every mag featuring King. Not so much worried about getting any old issues of Rolling Stone with SK interviews or such, but to possess the entire literary spectrum would be my ultimate goal. Of course, were I ever to be half as successful at the craft as he proved to be, the idea wouldn't be so farfetched. first i have to manage to complete something and not lose it. separately, easy tasks. together, well...:pullhair:
