My first tends to persist or recur.

My second is Absent.

My third is a bride's accessory.

I am a potential disaster.

"Absent": no? missed?
"Bride's Accessory": ring? groom?

Jon

Ah but there is another "Bride's Accessory"

And it is key to this riddle.

Jean

maid?

also, how about "no" or "missed" for "absent"?

Jon
08-23-2008, 03:20 AM
"Absent" No...try another word.

Jean
08-23-2008, 03:35 AM
is "maid" wrong, too?

"train"?

Jean
08-23-2008, 03:45 AM
also, is it important that Absent starts with a capital "A"?

absent: missing, leave, away

bride's accessory: headpiece, tiara, garter, barrette, necklace, clutch

Jean

I think we got all bride's trinkets, let's try thininking around the corner? Brideswell, Brideshill?

what's the special name for the thing a bride packs all her stuff in - a trousseau? also, what about a dowry? or her maidenhead? (not really an accessory i know but it was the second thing that popped into my head after trousseau)

as for the fourth - what about an accident?

gsvec

runaway train?

The Lady of Shadows

that would work if the fourth were all three together. i can totally see it.

::waits impatiently for answer to be revealed::

Thinking maybe the 4th is a recap. Hoping so, anyway

once you posted i saw it that way as well. so we'll just be wrong together if you're wrong. :)

or we'll gang up on him and tell him that he's wrong. :P

runaway train?

I don't know about "run," but the rest of it sounds right to me.

gsvec

like there's a "run" on a product or something is what I was thinking

The Lady of Shadows

"my first tends to persist or recur"

see i was thinking like a runny nose so i thought run fit.
i didn't even think run on a product but that's even better (just think Wii or XBox).

Jean

runaway train?
sounds like it must be it, only I have already asked Jon about "train"... he didn't answer, so maybe it is correct, and he just didn't see it

Jon

runaway train?

This is the answer I sought.

I was unfair to Jean. I was with my injured nephew and could not answer that "Train" was correct and the the capitol "A" in absent was a mistake on my part. Also I was unfair to Mistress as I did not confirm "away" was the word for absent.

Sorry all...family first.

A goose for all who have ever visited riddles at DT.com or DT.net...they didn't even have to post!

(God, how am I to pay for these geese??)
