I will start with this one. It came to me in a flash and within 90 seconds it was on paper....

Faded

Faded is my memory of her
Like the sides of an old abandoned barn
She is running, playing
In sunlight, her hair so fine

Shadows creep along the hall
growing, as I fail to recall
Why she had to take her leave
while I can no longer dream

If, through to the end I
make a stand, again
It would be to know that she
may have a memory of me

That my love has no bounds
as I wither away in the ground
That she had no pain or doubt
Through her life without

Knowing that I gave her a beginning
if not a life, not in spite
but free to be all that she
can and will be

In the end it is just a memory
of her running in the sun
her hair so free, smiling
dancing with the wind

At her back I linger,
like the wind, pushing her
as I was once with her,
a guide and a light...

She smiled, and I was free
a memory touched
a memory
a memory
Fading....
Faded....

Thank you both....

They say to write about what you know, this is an ode to my daughter whom I have not been able to see for 5 years..... She is now 7, and was only 2 the last time...

I said I would not share this info, but I think Ka may be working now having me relate such a painful thing, only here, where in a very very short time, feels like home...

The poem is therapy...and as honest as I have ever been

it makes me very sad. sadder even to know for whom it was written. i am sorry for your loss, but pleased to know that you are able to write about it with such grace.

Poetry is such a beautiful thing. Writing is the only thing that connects us all. :)

I tried my and at pure horror poetry. Here (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showpost.php?p=174897&postcount=61)

I had one positive comment and I wondered, even though I write "dark" poetry, if I was "out of my element" with it.
