All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
All work and no play--

So, we're going to have a Bool Hunt.

For those of you who haven't read Lisey's Story, a Bool Hunt is similar to a scavenger hunt. Players begin with the first Station of the Bool (the first clue), which will lead them to the second Station containing the next clue ... and so on until the final Station of the Bool.

In this online version of a Bool Hunt, the first Station of the Bool will be posted in this thread. Players will decipher the Bool given to determine the location of the next Bool.

Each Bool will be contained within a post. It may be in riddle form, disguised as a regular post, or a picture. It may be posted by me, it may be posted by another user, and it may be a post which was previously made by a regular user which I've edited. And who knows, it could be something else. There will be one Bool daily, until the conclusion of the Bool Hunt.

The objective of the Bool Hunt is to decipher each Bool and to reach the final station. Please keep note of where each station was located ... because the first person to pm me with the location of each Bool station wins the grand prize. The prize in this Bool Hunt will be a second printing variant copy of issue #1 of The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born by Marvel Comics. There will also be a second and third prize for those unlucky bastards who didn't pm me first. For the rest of you: so solly chahlie.

Good luck.

2 questions

1. Will the whole bool hunt be contained in thedarktower.org

and

2. Has the fist clue been given already?

Eddie Dean

This is Edward Cantor Dean,
hero drawn from Ka's design,
Elected to a hero's fate,
ever vexed by the wind's malign.

Now let us enter into a contest;
details are your greatest clue.
Thinly threader lands of prowess
house the knowledge you are due.

Eat up these words, digest each jot;
breathe in the truth within each tittle.
Align yourself with the straight and narrow
rod of knowledge that solves this riddle.

Ominous, this task may seem.
Never falter; you'll see the end.
Inside the topic that you deem
envelops all this passage blends.

Search these clues, believe no lies---for in a week there'll be a prize.

I assume we PM with the location of each bool all at once when the hunt is over...

Matt

I believe I have that first one just about deciphered.

**heads off into the site**

I realize I can't play but I still like to solve the riddles.

sorry, what is a a scavenger hunt? Russian bear wants to have some fun, too (bears love riddles), only has no idea what is going on

Matt

This game is kind of a hybrid of the traditional scavenger hunt.

A regular one is where you have a list of things you have to find--once found you mark them off your list and move on. Its fun with uTube

This one is a kind of combination because you mark "stations of the bool" off your list by figuring out the riddle and then finding whatever it refers to.

I know for a fact that the prize in this case is cool as hell so I hope everyone tries to play along. :grouphug:

Yes, once a player has found all seven stations of the Bool they can PM me with the location of each station.

For example:
Station 1: The Bool Hunt thread
Station 2: Somewhere in the ___ thread, hidden in ____'s post
Station 3: Posted by Roland in the ___ thread

And so on ... (Those examples aren't necessarily hints by the way.)

Jean - a scavenger hunt might not be the best example for a Bool hunt. think of it more like a treasure hunt, where there is one clue that leads you to the next clue, and then the next clue, and so on and so forth until you reach the final clue and BOOL! The end.

I haven't finished the book yet but it seems like writing and crazy go together like peas and carrots.

Love it so far.

I always though a "Bool" was a buttfuck in a pool.!!

Patrick

I pity the bool!

Jon

Don't pee in the bool!

Frunobulax
05-31-2007, 08:38 PM
Shall I add some more chlorine to the bool then??

Scott Landon
06-04-2007, 01:46 PM
You'll have to forgive me everyone. I've been busy, and as such unable to post the next Bools.

The fifth has been posted, where I can not say. The sixth will follow with a little delay.

:D

Alright, the Bool hunt is over. First person to PM me with every station of the Bool wins.

Frunobulax

Is the answer 42?

Hannah
06-06-2007, 06:37 AM
Alright, since Scott obviously made the Bool Hunt way too hard for everyone :P ... I'm going to give all regular members until tonight at midnight to PM Scott with the stations of the Bool.

If no answer is received, the contest is open to staff. :D

Matt, we thought that about Einstein, but he's still easy to cope with! Well, at least the preserved section of his brain we hooked up to that machine is....

Hannah

If there is any interest in this contest by staff, it is now open to everyone. Someone has got to get it. Sheesh.

C'mon guys, it isn't that tough. :P

Odetta

Is the answer... Jesus?

Hannah
06-14-2007, 02:04 PM
You know, I heard that Jesus hates the Dark Tower series. :(

Frunobulax
06-14-2007, 02:38 PM
