Flashchat is obsolete--Being replace with new system.

Well folks, it looks like flash chat is not compatible with the changes being made, I am replacing it with something new.

For now, chat on the site is not available. I will keep you posted in this thread.

I'm going to be testing an "add on" chat room for the site today. Its hosted elsewhere because it turns out Flashchat was an open door for hackers.

Much more security and faster response, very nice little product.

It needs Java installed on your machine. Not all versions of Microfoft Windows come with it installed. If you have a white screen, this is why.

I had to download a more recent version of Java to get it to work on my home computer. Once I did that it was working fine.

I tried it from my work computer and it worked with no problems at all. It's a pretty quick little program, so I already like it better than FlashChat. Once it is integrated with the board I think it will look great!

OH MY GOD. this so totally rocks. you can float the window. there are sounds (although i strongly suggest disabling the whip before feev gets in there :lol: ). it's so much quicker than the old version. i love it. :rock:


ETA: the emoticons and sounds pop up in their own little windows and stay open how cool is that? and amanda just came in and ran away. how sad. :lol:

you know you don't need to be a member to use the chat
i opened the link in 2 different tabs,
logged in on both tabs,
and had a chat with myself.
so the chat isn't very private
then again you DO need to know the address.
but any guest can just walk in and start spamming if they read the marquee

Usually, problems with the board mean I can sign on as you and see whats up but if I have it set up right on my computer then that wouldn't help. :pullhair:

There are some security settings you could check with your browser, they should be under "internet options"

It's really weird... it tells me to download, even tho I already have Java. So, I uninstall it all and download again, shut everything down, and then it just tells me I can't connect to the server.
So be it.

I can use it just fine on my macbook. I think the version of Java at home is just old.
