Sigh.....well..... I HAD gotten a hold of a 1st edition of the Uncut Stand in about as good of shape as you ever find it in.... for $25.00!!!! But unfortunately the "collector" seller that sent it, sent it completely unwrapped, in a single layer padded envelope that was way too big for the book. So it arrived like this. So I not only get to deal with returning the book and then trying to find another great copy of it, but now there is this copy that WAS a beautiful copy that is now just a reading copy. Sigh. :(

@TCCBodhi Sellers are so awful sometimes. When I sell things periodically on ebay, my listing say I will ship in boxes unless specified. Whether a 5 dollar or 300 dollar book, it is always shipped in a box. The horror stories people can tell about improper shipping and handling?! Sorry for your loss, so to speak.

I'm very pleased with the mail today!

Here is Stephen King's very first piece of published "national" non-fiction (obviously his "King's Garbage Truck" columns came first from college), a letter he wrote to TV Guide, published in July 1969 regarding TV violence. He would have been 21 when this was published. A beautiful copy!

This is one I got a couple days ago. It's not a "usual" proof, but it's the proof of the paperback cover of Cujo:

Good luck! Perhaps it will fit the envelope better, and won't be so endangered because of the heavy weight. We're working it out. He at least recognizes that there isn't a point in sending it back. He seemed apologetic. Hopefully the REALLY rare/old ones he had either got shipped more carefully or avoid the fate of this book. EDIT: He just refunded back the entire amount, no hassle. I WOULD buy from them again, I would just clarify shipping (as I will do with ALL sellers at this point) before buying.

Mainly just sad that there is one less Fine or Near Fine copy of The Stand out there than there was a week ago.

Kay McCauley was Kirby's sister and they worked together to represent King early in his career.

Steve often referred to her as "Kaybird". One of the inscriptions on the set was to "Kaybird".

It is widely speculated that King took a liking to Kay early on...the progression as to the personalization of the inscriptions would support this view.

It took me a while, but here is my most recent:

UK Bazaar of Bad Dreams front:

And the back:

http://i469.photobucket.com/albums/rr60/johnhanic/UK%20Bazaar%20of%20Bad%20Dreams%20ARC%20back_zps6h loidjh.jpg (http://s469.photobucket.com/user/johnhanic/media/UK%20Bazaar%20of%20Bad%20Dreams%20ARC%20back_zps6h loidjh.jpg.html)

This is numbered. It also had the "EMBARGOED HODDER & STOUGHTON" on each page.

This gives me 130 US proofs and 49 UK ones. I also have numerous proofs of anthologies, books about King, etc.

According to the book, there was also a small print run of 100 numbered copies that are also "paraphés par les éditeurs". Whatever that means (literally : with 'initials' of the publishers?, but I dont think that this is it).

And a funny trivia : the book was apparently printed.... in my hometown !

Cordial Jim

Those both show a full number line, so they are true first printings. both also have "From the Author of The Dead Zone and Cujo" on the cover, so they are the scarcer variant. I've never seen the black one before. I've heard that the true first printings were part of a boxed set with The Dead Zone. I wonder if these also were part of the boxed set.

John

I have a 7th printing Black Firestarter that says "From the Author of Cujo and Different Seasons" at the top. You would think that with (at least) seven printings this thing wouldn't be that hard to find, but I've only come across one in my travels... and it's sitting on my shelf.

It translates to "initialed by the editors".

Yes, that's the translation... but didnt know if that's what being meant.
I asked a friend of mine that has a lot of knowledge about the french book industry, and basically yes : it's basically or the initials or a mark by the publisher.

Just came home from my Meeting with jae lee and just have to say that he is a fantastic fellow! Was very blessed that he found his way to Europe and took the chance for a quick chat and some nice add ones. I really have to admit that I'm totally hooked to his style and hope he will join the comic once again.

Beside some signed comics he made me a stunning young Roland in my UK S/L what (as far as I know) makes it the only remarqued 1/200 out there. He still is on a bigger piece for me, but was unfortunately not able to finish it yet , so there is still more to come :)

If you ever have the chance to meet him, take it! Was a real pleasure!

I just got my CD Carrie art portfolio (#359) a few minutes ago. My usual time to get the mail is about 11am. It arrived at 6:45pm. I guess a lot of carriers missed work today and the USPS had to call in some extra help.

The portfolio was in perfect shape--no bumps, etc. Looks great!

It's been a busy day here with things I can show, and other things that I can't. With Secret Santa purchases, a couple that I just couldn't resist getting myself, and seemingly a lot of Pre-Order items either coming, or coming soon, it will be a busy season. Here is what today brought.

My husband can't really keep track of what I have/don't have, or what exactly he'd be looking for even if he did know what I wanted, but he DID know that I didn't have "the one that just came out" so he came home from errands with Bazaar Of Bad Dreams (http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=856) to surprise me. He's a keeper.

Then the mail brought The Stephen King Companion (http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=855), which looks to be a great read, and is my first official purchase from Betts Books. It came with a cool photo printout of one of the Chadbourne artworks that is reproduced in the book, which I couldn't get a decent snapshot of, but you probably all know what it looks like anyway. The snapshot I DO have for you is the detail of the David Williamson autograph (http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/855/IMG_5335.JPG) so we can all work on forging it for big bucks on ebay! (Thank you, David!)

Now, as great as SK is at the short story form, I think one of his contemporaries, Raymond Carver, really was a master. I've been reading a dogeared paperback on roadtrips when we get tired of music for several decades. ABE's newsletter a few months back showed off a bunch of the Franklin Library Covers, and I saw their edition of Where I'm Calling From (http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=854) for the first time. I've been looking for a cheap copy of it since, but usually see it in the $75-$100+ range, more than I want to pay; however I found a BIN ebay auction on this Like New copy last week for less than $50 and jumped on it. Carver must have signed these just shortly before he died in 1988. I wish I knew how many of these there are, but that doesn't seem to be common knowledge on these editions. This could very likely be the best looking book in my bookcases though.

Congrats on the Carver book, TCC. I think I read in the biography of Carver that came out a few years ago that he signed over 10,000 of those tip in sheets. He knew he was dying from lung cancer at the time and struggled to get them all done. He died before the regular hard cover edition came out.

Over the past couple of months I've had the pleasure of working with a great seller to obtain some of the proofs I need for my collection. The first two of a total of five proofs arrived today. At first I had planned to continue Paul's Rare Proof Wednesday in five monthly installments and 'unveil' the proofs, starting with the most common one and ending with the scarcest one. But I don't want to wait another two or three months so here we go, in no particular order.

Neither of these, nor the other proofs I have coming are as exceptionally scarce as the things we're used to seeing from Bob and Gerald but they're far from common.

The first one is the UK IT proof. I had another copy a few years ago with a spine that was so faded it was almost white. Needless to say, this one is MUCH better!

http://www.thedarktower.org/custom/images/1448562177-ITUKproof.jpg

The second one is a proof that I never expected to find - but I did. I'll never own a Doubleday or NEL proof so this was basically my Holy Grail of the older proofs. I am super happy to have found a copy! The UK Dead Zone proof! It looks a bit washed out in this pic but it's not. Overall it's not in great condition but I don't care one bit. This one took me a LONG time to find...

Well done Michaël. I would never say that a "Dead Zone" proof is anything to not be especially proud of. I have only ever found the one and they are very difficult to find in Fine condition because of the quality of the paper that was employed at the time. I haven't seen one for sale in over a decade, so congratulations.

I was actually going to post a few new proofs and items I just acquired in London the other day, but not wanting to rain on your parade, I will hold off until 2016. I think the last time I posted a rare item, it was 5 minutes after Roseannbarr posted his first Pride & Joy and it took away from his enjoyment.

Every time I watch that film, I have to watch "There Will Be Blood" right after because they are great accompaniments. They were both filming back to back and in one Texas scene, shooting had to halt one day when a cloud of black smoke appeared on the horizon of the Coen film. It was from the set of Blood, where the oil derrick was set on fire. Both movies were both contenders for Academy Awards a couple of years later.

Good for you Simon. I remove shrink-wrap from all my books because there is absolutely no conservation value to leaving it on. They are only beneficial for dust protection, but careful storage and regular dusting will solve that problem. Some books that are wrapped too tightly can warp slipcases over time, so I remove them with one exception - Salem's Lot Gift Edition from Centipede. That was actually wrapped well and due to the type of material that was used for the cover, it keeps it looking new.

Here is something I have spent a long time looking for. I'd say over 10 years. Maybe longer. It is a magazine called Mainliner and it is the magazine you would have found in the "seat pocket in front of you" on a United Airlines flight in May, 1977. Noteworthy because of an excerpt from The Shining that appears to be the entire chapter titled "Hallorann."

This should be listed in B.49 in Brooks' bibliography under the heading Section II: Short Fiction but the only current listing there is a magazine called Ramada Reflections from June, 1977. I have never owned or even seen a copy of Ramada Reflections (presumably an in-room magazine for Ramada Inn) but this copy of Mainliner is clearly dated one month earlier.

And the back cover is very nostalgic.

Thanks for posting that. I had sent that info to Justin a few years ago after discovering a copy of the magazine in the back of the Doubleday files. That copy had "file copy" written in ink on the cover and, I felt, would always need to remain with the Doubleday files. Since seeing it I have been looking for another copy to put in my core collection. I was pretty excited to finally come across one listed on eBay. Like I said earlier I have been looking for a long, long time.

I received my FK slipcase too. It's very nice. I like the texture.

The book fits it fine without a Brodart. I think a Brodart would make it a little tight.

Me too. :) I used the econo-fold Brodart. The single Mylar piece without the paper. That works fine.

The artist with the distinction of producing the first original painting for a Stephen King novel was Raymond “Ray” Feibush. He was responsible for the artwork on the U.K First Edition dust jacket of “Carrie” in 1974. He worked for New English Library (NEL) from 1969 up until 1976 and produced over 40+ cover/interior designs for their science fiction novels. For reasons unknown, he stopped doing science fiction art in the U.K. in 1976, where he returned to the U.S. His final piece was for a Putnam (New York) novel published in 1980. Sadly, he passed away in June, 1998 at the young age of 50. Paperwork obtained from the archive shows that he was paid £180.00 for producing the original acrylic painting, to which NEL had exclusive rights to reproduce for their dust jacket, and for marketing the novel in 1974. He was allowed to keep the original painting after the publisher made a copy, like all his previous creations.

In preparation for researching the design, Ray was forwarded a proof copy of the novel in December 1973. Documentation included with the proof indicated that the novel was originally priced at £2.95, with a May 9, 1974 release. Correspondence show that Ray finished the painting on January 19, 1974 and delivered it to the offices of NEL in London. It is worth mentioning that this First State proof that was issued to the artist is different in design to the Second State proof that was produced in February 1974 for marketing, printing and editors review. That state is brown in color and had a more uniform design with the remaining NEL imprints through to “The Stand”.

On February 16, 1974, per his contract, Ray received three prototype dust jackets that were to be the final design of the cover. He signed and dated them on the rear of the dust jacket cover on this day. Upon closer inspection with the final dust jacket of the First Edition, I have discovered a total of 7 differences. Most notably is the price decrease to £2.50, and the opening paragraph on the front flap. What was originally written as “Carrie White” was changed to “Carrie, Carietta White”. There are five other changes.

These three dust jackets were stored interwoven with tissue paper, sandwiched between two panes of glass, and taped shut since 1974. They were only opened yesterday to photograph, and have since been placed back in a protective environment. They are the finest examples of a dust jacket that I have ever seen. I only wish a collector had the foresight to do the same thing with Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” in 1937. Oh how the book world would appreciate that today.

These three items from the “Carrie” Artist Archive Collection have been with the previous owner, a friend of the artist, since 1976. They were part of the five items I was fortunate enough to acquire from him the other day in London. He has one of the finest collection of rare books and memorabilia that I have ever had the pleasure of viewing. His collection comprised of 63 different authors works (now 62), with two other King items previously unheard of by myself. While he doesn’t collect the full canon of each author’s library, the select pieces he does have are exemplary choices. I can share the remaining items as soon as I have them photographed.

On a personal note, while I have been searching unsuccessfully for years for concrete evidence of the actual U.K. print run of “Carrie”, the generally accepted belief is somewhere between 600 and 1000 copies. Personally, I don’t believe the number to be this high. From speaking with many collectors, book dealers and auction houses in the U.K., the NEL First Edition of “Carrie” has become an allusive copy to obtain, and very rarely appears. On the other hand, the Doubleday edition is very easy to find through many different avenues. The fact that Stephen was basically an unknown writer in 1973, I find the treatment that they awarded his first novel to be very supportive, with an original dust jacket design, as opposed to a standard bold typeface design that was common at the time.

I hope you enjoy.

Thank you all for your kind words. As a member here once stated, I don’t post very often, but when I do, I try to select items that I think others may find interest in. It’s not always easy as it is getting harder and harder to find unique items after 40+ years of publishing. Still, I persevere and if and when I discover something unique, I will do my best to research the piece and share the story. Some items have a lot of back story, and some collectors know nothing further than whom they purchased it from.

The fourth item that I recently acquired is an example of such an item. While I have tried to discover who “Helen” is to Stephen, I have not been able to ascertain any further information. This is a lovely copy of “Cycle of the Werewolf” signed limited edition. When I saw the book at first, I thought it was the same edition as the one I already had in my collection. On the Title Page there is a warm, personal inscription by Stephen to a friend for New Year’s, 1983. On the limitation page, it is signed again by Stephen and Bernie Wrightson, with the designation “Authors Copy”. When I saw that it was one of four copies, I thought that was strange because I was sure my other copy was one of eight copies produced. Upon my return, I have checked my copy and it was a different edition. That one was a “Publishers Copy” and was indeed one of eight. This was a smaller limitation and whereas my other copy had only a second signature on the Title Page, this one had an inscription.

Interestingly enough, the only other “Authors Copy” I have in my collection is “The Dark Tower 2: The Drawing of the Three”. I am not certain if this designation was done for every other signed limited, but if so, I have never seen another in my travels. Most certainly, they were never offered for sale, so the probability of a recipient of Stephen’s generosity turning around and selling them is not very likely. I thought it was quite a nice find.

The last item I acquired is a UK proof that I have never seen before. I was hoping to photograph it yesterday afternoon, but the weather was beautiful and I decided to take my little man to The World’s Largest Wave Pool for his first time. All going well, we will be diving with sharks very shortly.

I hope you enjoy.

Speak of the devil, and the Shark will appear. Of course they closed the park for me. I want to shelter my boy against interacting with people for as long as possible!

No, I'm only joking. This is Thailand and for whatever reason, this is as crowded as amusement park pools get on a weekend. Probably wouldn't be the case States-side, but here there is so many options for swimming available, with countless beaches, this is how it is every week.

Hi Simon,

Yes it would have been a real pleasure to meet in person, and hopefully if I am back in December, I will try to make it happen. Congratulations, Gerald, on finding another book that I had not seen before. There are a couple of other states of Cycle of the Werewolf that I know of with the designation and limitation written in the same hand (presumably Zavisa's). Besides the eight copies designated Publisher's Copy there are another eight designated Artists Copy. I guess Wrightson had a better agent or negotiated a better deal than King as he seems to have gotten four more copies than King. And then there is an unbound text block with the pages still mostly uncut and unseparated that state they are one of five copies of the Custom Bound Edition. I guess that Zavisa had planned a more elaborate binding for these but I have never seen any that are bound.

Hi Bob,

Yes I know that there are quite a few states of "Cycle" and I only have this new one and the Publishers State. I know that Chris Cavalier had an Artists State, but that was sold before I saw it. I also saw photos of the unbound Custom Bound Edition, and like you said, it was not completed. It would have been nice to see the treatment that Christopher could have done with that, but alas it was not to be.

I have no doubt that Bernie was able to strike a better deal to get 4 more copies, because it is one of the few books that the artists involvement was as important as the authors. Same with "Creepshow". I don't think the text alone would have had the impact the illustrations did for those pieces. I also believe that Christopher was the individual that wrote the limitation page because the writing was done with a fountain pen in ink different from Stephen and Bernie. Also, the writing style is not theirs. Whoever did it, I don't think they were too familiar with a fountain pen because at least my 2 copies, there is heavy indentations at the start and finish of each stroke, which usually goes away with continued use. Personally, I love the fountain pen, but it does take a lot of practice to actually write lovely calligraphy.

Wonderful item! Thanks for sharing Gerald. And nice pic in the wave pool.

Thank you all again for your kind words. I will try to post the last item tomorrow morning from the UK collection. After that I will get to photographing a few new items I got when I returned. They were unexpected and so that makes the joy that much more elevated. Yes Paul, we had fun in the wave pool. I remember my first time in a wave pool and probably I am the only one on this board that knows what I am talking about, but I will share the story anyways.

When I was growing up in New York, my parents used to take me each summer to an adventure park in Vernon, NJ called "Action Park". We used to call it "Traction Park" because you could be certain that at least once a summer you would end up in the emergency room at the local hospital. It was everything that could go wrong with an adventure park, that was actually a real place. You had lifeguards sure, but they were 14 -17 year old children that were more interested in girls and getting drunk (during their shift), to really take the job seriously. The Wave Pool there had many drownings, usually every summer. How, for the life of me, did it stay operational so long is a mystery, but it did, and it made my childhood. I was one of the lucky ones, that actually knew how to swim first. The waves were very big, and being able to swim was not a prerequisite to entering the water. The last year I was in the U.S. there was a drowning the day before I visited. I didn't know this on the day I went, but sure enough, the Wave Pool was back open for business. There were other rides, like the cement slalom cart run down the side of the mountain (guess what happens when you pull the brake on your rapidly accelerating cart, and it does nothing?).

Now, I did notice a few lifeguards at the pool yesterday, and I don't think they were sleeping, but I am not so sure as they were wearing glasses. Needless to say, my boy has his own private lifeguard and he calls him 'daddy'. I have learned the hard way that the only person you can trust when you are at adventure park, is your family.

Okay, that's my story.

Interesting story Gerald. There is a wave pool (water park) near my home in Canada. I went there when I was a kid and the waves kept sucking me out and out.. I was running out of air and passed out. Lifeguards (THANK HEAVENS) were not sleeping and got me JUST IN TIME. I coughed up water and started to breathe again... I am not very nervous of waves and have been my whole life. It can happen in an instant... I was young but it has stuck with me ever since...

You were lucky. Thank goodness, this one is not as severe as the one I grew up with, or else I would never let him in at this age. I didn't understand your expression "I am not very nervous of waves and have been my whole life." Are you saying you are not nervous, and still feel the same? Or, are you saying you were not nervous before that, but are now.

Amazing pieces, Gerald. I think your nickname should be the "King Whisperer." You have an uncanny knack (hard work) for attracting such rare and impossible to find items. Thanks for sharing with us all, as well as the back stories. Congratulations!

Kilmarnock Baths had the first wave machine in 1940. We had great times as kids getting slammed against the concrete steps at the far end. Lots of blood and gore. Those were the days. :)

Truly wonderful information Gerald as always, I'm sorry your visit to London was such a brief one, it would have been great to meet up.

Is it ok with you if I include some of the information above into the catalog?

Hi Simon,

Yes it would have been a real pleasure to meet in person, and hopefully if I am back in December, I will try to make it happen. This trip was 2 days only and with the auction, I had only the one day, and that was a real treat trying to circumnavigate the motorways from Stansted. Sure, you can use whatever information you need for the catalog.

Take care.
Gerald

Thanks Gerald, I have updated the Catalog and credited you with the information.

Gerald

I was there once as a kid with my two brother and two sisters. I remember it was a wild park and my, Dad who had been a lifeguard at Jones Beach was none too thrilled with it. He had to dive in for my little brother in the wave pool while the park life guard was otherwise occupied. After that we settled for the park in, Rye, N.Y. every once in awhile. It wasn't a water park, but it was a little tamer I suppose. Later came, Six Flags and of course, Disney.

Being a life guard at, Jones Beach was no easy feat. There were rigorous tests and such and my, Dad was 6'3" with a 54" chest. Of course that was when we were little. 5 kids and a N.Y. Telephone Co. career later that 54" went mostly to his waist!! LOL LOL Still, he had an iron right arm from years carrying a 100 pd tool box all around Manhattan. I remember one time when my Mom and him got into a heated argument. Now, my father never laid a hand on my, Mom (in fact he worshipped her) but he was a strong man. My Mom got all excited in the argument (probably defending me for some shennanigans!! LOL) and threatened to call my, Grandfather who lived a half block away. Without looking or seeming to think about the act, he reached back, grabbed the telephone and ripped it off the wall and handed it to her to make her call!! LOL LOL This was when a telephone weighed in at 10-12 pds and was securely screwed to the wall. LOL After that, when my, Dad said "come", I came!!! LOL

I recall being recruited to act as the "Go-fer" when he remounted the phone and fixed the wall. He always sent you to the garage for that "Whatucallit" that was crucial to the project, but you really had no clue as to what it actually was, resulting in many re-visits to the garage!! LOL LOL

Anyway, "Traction Park" was an apt name as I recall. LOL It was a heckuva trip from, L.I. to N.J. with no AC in the old station wagon!!! LOL Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Gerald!!

The final item I was lucky enough to obtain recently is the Hodder & Stoughton proof copy of “Pet Sematary”. For years I was under the impression that this proof was never completed in time by Hodder because of a delay in receiving the manuscript from Doubleday in New York. I received this information first-hand from a former Hodder employee that was familiar with Stephen’s works. I took this as golden, but obviously I was wrong.

While I am fairly certain that no review copies made it out in time for the usual suspects that were accustomed to receiving them in advance for their newspaper columns, at least one, if not more, were completed for in-house use.

The original manuscript was used for this proof, as the typeset does not match the font for the first edition. Upon comparison with the First State Doubleday proof, this appears to be very similar in design.

I hope you enjoy.

Yes you were there. I think that was the same lifeguard that I had when I was there. We also made the natural progression to Six Flags and that was incredible for a boy from New York City to see a fast moving ride that didn't have MTA written on the side. I think I was in Rye once, but we used to go to the Poconos where we had a little summer home and that was great. 3 months away from the sweltering heat of Manhattan was paradise. Lakes, pools, ohhhhhh.

I loved taking the old Chevrolet Caprice Station Wagon with the faux wood paneling on those trips, but our A/C was working. Maybe your Dad didn't find the Whatchamacallit, but ate it instead. They were a great candy bar.

Thank you all for your kind words. Up until one week today, I never knew that this proof existed either. While I know there are other proofs that I have never seen before, I always like to think that they may exist, because even when I get word to say otherwise, sometimes that information is incorrect.

You are right Paul. As far as I am aware, the only person that knew a 30 and 40 year old proof existed this long, was the person that has had it in their library since publication. As he doesn't use the Internet, he never knew just how special it was. I am quite sure there are others like him out there.

Take care.

Another great find, Gerald! And I did secretly hope it would be a UK Pet Sematary proof. Not because I had any inside information, but because that was the only early King book that I could think of that still didn't have a confirmed UK proof state. It looks to be in great shape!

I have always had a strong attachment to "Pet Sematary" because I had my own little 'church' incident with my little man, that for all intents and purposes, should have been his final chapter. In Ireland, my house fronts a very busy road and not wishing to go into the gory details, car vs cat doesn't exactly end well for the feline. While 2 vets said he was a lost cause, I was fortunate to find a 3rd (his 'Trinity') that said he could try to save him from visiting the pet sematary.

Needless to say, if you think spinal surgery on humans is costly, try finding a vet that will work on the cheap. Two days after ICU, 3 months of rehabilitation and 6 years later, he is as happy as ever. The tail is a distant memory now, but it only makes him more streamlined. If a cat does have nine lives, I would not venture to guess how many were spent that day. For a black & white domestic short-hair from Ireland, he has walked on Hollywood Boulevard (on a leash), bicycled across the Golden Gate bridge, swam in Phuket, stared with great intensity at a 6 ft. monitor lizard in Bangkok, and ate a mouse in Hong Kong. When I next pick up a paperback of "Pet" I will read a few passages to him at night before bed, so that he can be thankful just how lucky he is.

Gerald

PS: I have absolutely no leads on "Bachman Books". Maybe perhaps in 2025 I will post to the "Pride & Joy" thread.

Thank you all for your kind words. Before the accident, he was just a little stray that came to my house at night for some milk, food and a bit of warmth (Ireland winters are brutal). He was very resourceful to look after himself. After that ability was removed, it was my responsibility to look after him, which I gladly did. All God's children deserve the best chance at survival. If they can't look after themselves, then it's up to people to step in and help. I would do it all again. I would love if he called me "daddy".

Thank you.

No doubt! I really scrambled for those this summer. I'm REALLY going to try to take matters more directly in my hands and get my OWN book signed for the last one assuming there is a signing. It'll be cheaper and I'll be excited to see some of you fine folks!
