I assume Bob owns one or more copies as well.

There aren't that many collectors interested in mass-market paperbacks so the fact that not many members here own a copy isn't strange in itself. But it is really weird that all copies for sale out there are later printings. All other Signet PBs are super common. I guess we'll never know.

New acquisition : a magazine that i've been hunting for a few years despite the fact that I had photocopies (the reason why it is listed in Justin Brooks' bibliography), and recently happened to find (like a few other things).

>>> This is a 'FRENCH' magazine (released by a french company) that IS in ENGLISH, and INCLUDES Stephen King's THE BOOGEYMAN, therefore in english !

Rest assured 5+ years from now a "new" collector will be frantic to obtain one.
Even then they will be available at a reasonable price.

Exactly!!! Put this with a TMSG and list it on eBay for $500 in five years!!! LOL

I still think our shenanigans a while back were directly responsible for the market up tick for TMSG!!! LOL

Holy Shit! That just reminded me! I have an extra HF item that was sent to me months ago from a contact at Hodder. I had put it away and forgot all about it.

This is the item, I can either put it on eBay or we can do a 'sealed bid' auction here and save on some ebay Fees. Highest bid sent to me before the end of next week wins, I will cover postage anywhere in the world. I'll also include the envelope it was sent in (it does have my address on it though). What does everyone prefer?

http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/ad223/stroppygoblin/hodder_zpstw0el3ke.png (http://s938.photobucket.com/user/stroppygoblin/media/hodder_zpstw0el3ke.png.html)

So, a blind auction and we pay, Jerome here in the states correct? If so I am in!!! Sealed bids as in "PM's"?

Edit: What exactly is the "Revival" item?

As far as I know the afterword was in every sequential edition thereafter. I just checked my Stephen King Library edition & U.K. 1984 movie tie-in edition & they have no afterword.
Has it EVER been printed in a U.K. book or a U.S.A. hardcover?

A few years back, I discovered a french author, Maxime Chattam, who was on stage in Paris with King at the saturday event (I discovered about that author a couple f years prior to that).
Because I like collecting books (why wouldnt I be here otherwise), I like hunting essays and everything written by an author.

Last year or so, I heard about a book for which he wrote an introduction (a very small printing as it was for an antology, published by a city council). I previously managed to get photocopies & photos from the copy availalbe at the national library, but today I recieved a copy I found a couple of days ago !

So, here it is : a very fine copy. Low printing I guess although I dont know how many were printed.

http://club-stephenking.fr/img/Collecting/chattam/et-dans-ce-temps-une-vie-bascule--chattam.JPG

Also recently found out that excerpts of 2 of his books were released as printed version by the publisher, and managed to get some.

As I found my MW signed DT 1 in 2014, i startet to think about a secondary set of Dark Tower books.
One that is not dedicated to Sai King as a writer, but to the artists that have created the fantastic
books and gave them this unique and special look!

I thought about continuing the "Artist Edition" that have been published from DT5 and up, but in this special case,
i wanted something more unique and thought about a set, that is remarqued by each of the artists.

Until a couple of days ago, i was sure hat i would be the only fanatic who has such an idea, but then Webstar
poped out of the nowhere with his fantastic Artist Edition Set, and i only can pull off my hat
proceeding nearly 6 months faster then me!

Great work Pal, i am very happy to see that there are more guys out there who think about new compilations!

// ==

In my case i concider the set not complete yet,
but I am very proud of the new members of the family and crazy happy that i made it up to 7/9 what i
never thought a couple of months ago!

A lot of guys here in the forum where willing to help and to find the books all over the net!
So i say thanks, and give you a short preview on what i hope to complete sooner or later:

poped out of the nowhere with his fantastic Artist Edition Set, and i only can pull off my hat
proceeding nearly 6 months faster then me!

Great work Pal, i am very happy to see that there are more guys out there who think about new compilations!

Theli, thanks;) It is the same afterword, no doubt. I guess I got confused since the info in Justin Brooks' bibliography lists the 81 paperback as the one that first carried the afterword. Now I need to hunt down the 80 paperback. And Bruce, sorry for questioning your King knowledge...that was not the intention. Merlin did warn me after all;D

Yea, that was a lucky shot honestly. Even if its not 100% matching, the "wolve" was enough for me to grab this one as i had the chance.

Not all yet, thats why they are not displayed at the moment

I have I , IV and VII from Tomas and i think i will either just take the rest from him, or work out something special with Jeff or maybe Dick.
No idea at the moment - have to think about that.

But great to know that he has the measurements, thanks!

The other day I've seen a set of magazines being sold for 20€ (a set of 95 magazines), I contacted the seller asking if could buy just one. Wasnt keen of it, so I bought a whole year of magazine, for 10€.
It included a very rare french item, with an abridged version of CARRIE. I previously had one of those and got it signed when King was in Paris.

May have some other awesome deals comin in :)

It's funny or sometimes you look for an item for years and would be willing to spend a lot of money for it. And then, all of sudden, you manage to get several copies in a very short amount of time (and then you would not see any for a long time).
I managed to get a second copy of this magazine !

Here is a picture of the copy I got signed when King was in France.

http://club-stephenking.fr/img/NEWS/FRANCE/signing/IMG_3220.JPG

Since I got 2 new copies, cheaply, i'll give one away to a french collector and friend of mine. And will probably try to sell the second one (npt for the price I got it for). Or will maybe keep it, so that i will be able to display the one with the signature.
Any thoughts on that?

Two amazing bookreading events 23.04.15 with Reinhard Kleist.
Hard, actual topic..... His new Graphic Novel about the Somali sprinter Samia Yusuf Omar, who competed in the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and died unfortunately in 2012
while crossing the mediterrenean sea to reach Europe.

Reinhard was so friendly to sign/remarque again a lot of stuff for me,

Nice, jcmanske! I agree, very cool Exorcist proof! Is that the same Marathon Man that was made into a film starring Dustin Hoffman?

Today I got a signed 1st UTD and the June '73 issue of Cavalier (hubba hubba), featuring King's "Trucks".

@jcmanske. Love the Exorcist stuff and Marathon Man. May I ask what you paid for The Exorcist book? I found my Exorcist, new!!!, for 80.00 on ebay over 3 years ago. Love it as I stare at it and never open it. Sometimes I have vivid dreams of Reagan staring at me in my room. Seriously. It freaks me out.

Also, congrats to everyone on their recent buys. I follow this thread and it beats me up seeing all the amazing things people find. Makes me jealous, but it's great to see avid horror collectors like myself appreciate good artwork. Writers are artists, are they not?

This is the Exorcist I have. This isn't a new add for me, but it was discussed so I wanted to share some pics of it. As a coin collector would say, "mint." No spine lean, marks, remainders, etc. The bottom block pages looks like a stain in the picture but it isn't. It is the pages as they look like that. Maybe a shadow of Reagan's spirit?

I bought 5 original artworks 6" by 9" from Betts Books and David even responded to a question I had about them on the Betts thread on this site. They are originals and more detailed then reading "very detailed." This is the one that I am giving to my parents, framed with black construction paper behind it, for a gift. They are into original art, and this was the nicest or cleanest or sanest one David had. My parents are not huge horror fans. This is from Roadwork from Glenn. The other 4 I will post after I finish painting the frame for them. I know these are not financially crippling, but I love linear art and landscapes as my avatar picture represents.

These were the remaining 4 original 6" by 9" artworks made by Glenn, purchased from Betts. The frame was distressed light brown, but I painted and varnished it. The pictures are a bit small left to right so I put black construction paper behind them. I need to hang it yet, but I like it because it looks like a window. The pictures from top left going right are Blaze, Dead Zone, Blockade Billy, Storm of the Century. the detail is amazing and I appreciate David for shipping them faster then I thought. As for everyone else and their new items, totally impressive and congrats!

Thanks a lot guys. As for how Blaze and Dead Zone look like they are attached.....I did that on accident. Sometimes it's funny how it works out. If there was a 3 picture frame going long ways, the Blockade Billy would be next to the Dead Zone on the right and even that looks like it's vegetation connects too it a bit.

Seems like there are a lot more living authors that did not sign vs those that did. Obviously, glad King did!

He's really good. The Name of the Rose is incredible. You'll feel as though you are actually in the monastery. There is a movie about this one with Sean Connery and Christian Slater. You should read the book first though.

My new P&J. Probably not much to most of you, but this is my first Stephen King S/L
I fear this may be a slippery slope..... (which may have to start with trying to get a copy of Vol1!)

I know...this is my first King S/L but I already collect Neil Gaiman and that has added up over the years...and I have also started on George Martin, which my wallet certainly doesn't thank me for (I am sure I can hear the credit card crying every time an email from Subterranean Press arrives in my inbox!).

The positive thing is is that King will always be collectible and with Martin the s/l I feel will be too. Gaiman I don't know much about. To me and I'm guessing most collectors, it will be an investment for rainy days, a will to family, or simply eventually selling for a profit years or decades down the road. Like I've been saying, "God forbid someone breaks in the house. Who is going to steal books?!" Besides, who needs food when you got a new S/L from King?!?! That fills the appetite does it not? It does for me! :excited:

Where can I get one of those ACRYLIC slipcases?

George Beahm had them specially made and I believe he has now sold them all. (And apart from a single prototype for the smaller non signed version) they were made to fit the larger edition.

Make your own.

Materials (from any builder's merchant)
Sheets of acrylic - 5mm or any size you want
Glue - acrylic glue.
Tools
Saw - fine blade.
Ruler - you have to measure your book

Beer - Lots. For congratulating yourself for a job well done!

If he has another one what does he ask for it? Or what were they selling for?
I am so tired of it just sitting in the box it came in.
Also does it have a little door or is it open ended? Right now I am on my cell and can't tell a lot about it.

Check out http://www.casesforcollectibles.com. They have one that will fit the slipcased edition - http://www.casesforcollectibles.com/1602.html

Not sure if they have larger ones for the traycased one, but it's worth a look.

Nice set. Stupid question here, what is a "NLr set"?

Mike

New Lieutenant's Rap Package that includes a majority of, if not all materials from the April 1999 event celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the publication of Carrie....

Small circle of friends to Stephen King were in attendance. Approximately 108 copies of NLR were given out.

Having all items including the Necklace, Envelope, Quiz and a signed TGWLTG is EXTREMELY RARE. I've even seen sets that include all of the above PLUS a table placeholder with the attendees name.

The materials consisted of a signed numbered New Lieutenant's Rap in an envelope, a peace symbol pendant on a silver chain, a four-page SK quiz and a signed copy of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. About 100 copies were distributed at the event, but many were left at the event and destroyed by the hotel staff. Between 60 and 80 copies remained.
