I'd love to do all the Vikings as well, but thats a BIG project! Creating the artwork for just the first 5 (and Dolan's of course) was far more time consuming than I expected, the thought of doing the next 20 Viking books is too much right now as my spare time is pretty much filled with writing the app.

I might design some more one off's later this year - I still want to do the Castle Rock Newsletter case and maybe Six Stories (which I don't have yet). An idea for a 'linked' set of slipcases for the DT trades is also in the back of my mind...

need more hours in a day....

Thanks John & Michael! After picking up these items & some past 'Salem's Lot Red Deluxe my collection has taken a hit on the size it was but it'll be easier replacing some items than wishing I had not passed up a rare item(I hope). I did not know that "double signing" is a thing nowadays ;D
But if it is i would throw in my (old-but)-new pride and joy with a double signed H.R. Giger Biomannerism

Flagg, whats the story behind yours ?
Why its double signed ?

Just for fun, or did somebody not know that s/he has a signed one, when going to a signing ;D ?
Would love to hear the story behind that book.

In my case, when i met Giger, he was so polite so sign my book.
And as it is in most cases when you had met him it was quite dark - and we thought the pen was not working.

Fortunately i had a second pen with me , and he signed again, realizing that he signed it twice hours later ;D

I've been collecting for over 5 years now and I actually enjoying selling to. For my father's church, they received as a donation 6 books. One was destroyed but the other 5 were in "good" condition. They were all true first editions from Fitzgerald and one was the Great Gatsby. I listed them for my father's church and sold Gatsby, after fees, for roughly 900. Sold 2 others for over 200, and I'm still trying to sell the other 2 for his church. So free iconic books where the money will go to a good cause.....if you believe in God. I don't judge on religion too much. Other things, well...... :)

On ebay I was watching Duma Keys with a slipcase for almost a month. If the book was a real 1st/1st in new condition I knew it was worth 10, while the slipcase was worth 20-25. The seller had it for awhile and always dropped the price every 5 days after it never sold. I finally decided to bid on it after someone else bid on it for 15....I believe. I won it for roughly 22.50 as I wanted the slipcase. I get it, it is a true 1st/1st and I noticed somebody signed it??? I asked some guy selling SK signed books on ebay and he was a really cool guy. I showed him pictures, and he stated he has dealt with Betts before and he is an avid King collector for 30 years. He stated the signature was real. I'm not flat signed guy (sorry but I don't trust them), so I put it back on ebay with a different slipcase and sold it for 250.00. Nice find....nice deal.

I've noticed people aren't too fond of buying book lots. I hear many collectors want one book and will pass on a lot because they don't want the others or will not take the time to sell off the ones they don't want. I noticed on ebay about a year ago some seller was selling the DT artist books with SKCollector slipcases and the Wind Through the Key Hole artist book too. So it was the standard 4 DT artist signed books with slipcases. 3 slipcases from SKCollector. I won the auction for roughly 350. I simply wanted one of the artist books and the 3 slipcases. I turned around and sold 2 artist books without slipcases and the WTTKH book and kept 1 artist book that I needed and the 3 slipcases. I basically got the one artist book and the 3 slipcases for almost free.
The problem is having the time to shop. If you work a lot you can't do things like this. Of course, this isn't like the one post I read where the person mentioned a Gunslinger for a dollar, but I thought I did OK. Not Gunslinger for a dollar OK, but still I was shocked at the final outcome.

It was either pure luck or pure strong strength to make it happen. All joking aside, I got lucky. But not as lucky as gunslinger for a buck! I read, I believe on SKCollector some collector years ago went to a thrift store. They asked about a BCE Carrie book in as new condition. Bought it for I think 7.00, and it was a real 1st/1st. Now that is an amazing deal too!

I bought mine for $95 and thought I had done well.

You paid 75.00 for that? I paid 74.99!
I was joking. I have a friend that pulls that shit all the time. By stating he saved a whole penny it makes your deal insignificant. I find it funny as hell though.

On a side note:) Here is my new P&J. I was not able to afford this right now but I could not pass up the deal.. it was a KILLER price. And the second I seen it... I HAD TO HAVE IT! I am sure you guys will all agree:)

Yes it is Bob.. and it look me awhile to find it. I find Whelan is always down in the corner (right mostly) but for the life on me nothing. I almost backed away from it and then I found it. See the 2nd Rock step up on the left? It is right there and quite small. The second picture shows it best.

Just got this collection of Fantasy & Science Fiction that includes all of the Gunslinger stories plus some other King stories. Since I have no 1st/1st of The Gunslinger, this will do for the short term! :) These are really in good condition, I'd say NF, with no smudges, tears, nasty address labels, or anything, so I am pleased with the books!

"The Gunslinger" (October 1978 )
"The Way Station" (April 1980)
"The Oracle and the Mountains" (February 1981)
"The Slow Mutants" (July 1981)
"The Gunslinger and the Dark Man" (November 1981)

"The Night of the Tiger" (February 1978 )
"The Ballad of the Flexible Bullet" (June 1984)
The Gunslinger story "The Bear" and "The Moving Finger" (December 1990)
"Everything's Eventual" (October/November 1997)

So I'm going through all my boxes of comics, books, and various sundries in preparation to move, and found this UK copy of Everything's Eventual that I recall I got from Bett's quite a while back. Apparently forgot about it as I just recently bought a U.S. signed copy. Getting old has it's issues! :scared: So while it's technically not new to me, I haven't posted it here before. Once I get settled in to the new house in a couple months, I hope to create a Collection thread...

Couple of new items for me today. First a signed 1st/1st of The Dark Half from a reputable dealer
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_0890.JPGhttp://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_0893.JPGhttp://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_0891.JPGhttp://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_0892.JPG

And got this lovely ARC of Bev's book on Ebay for cheap, but somehow it took the ever-efficient USPS over a week to get it from Deland, Florida to Vero Beach, Florida (130 miles), with the package going from Deland to Tulsa, OK, to Dallas, TX, to Jacksonville, FL to Vero Beach. :orely:

Oh my god, Jerome - that book is GORGEOUS. Love it. F. Paul Wilson has some AMAZINGLY gorgeous lettered editions. Black Wind is beautiful beyond description. Also, The Peabody Ozymandias Traveling Circus lettered is a work of art. I have one of only 5 Greek lettered copies.
Bob - you have two copies of Kali??? What do you need two copies for? Come on, sell one to your best friend Noah!! :excited:

A lot of years ago, before I had read any Stephen Kind or really knew who he was (I think I was about 12), I was at Mohonk Mountain House with my family when my dad asked me to run and get someone's autograph. I was visiting the family for the holiday's today and happen to stumble across these. Unfortunately the years at my parent's haven't treated the paperback too well, but they're still special to me because they're the only signatures I've actually obtained in person. If I recall correctly, the paperback was from the hotel gift shop.
