Due to the incredible generosity of our little community - and the joint efforts of 2 of our upstanding members (they don't want to be named so I shall of course respect their wishes) I was sent the following book absolutely free of charge.

Anyone been watching this one:

THE DARK TOWER series by Stephen King, Matching, Signed / Ltd, 10 Volumes (http://www.ebay.com/itm/281594462223?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT)

It's up to $7,800+ with a few minutes to go. Reserve hasn't been met. I didn't expect bidding to go that high since it doesn't have LSOE and TWTTK... Unless I guess, one of the bidders has that # in those volumes...If not, will be challenging to find them...

I thought this was the same seller as it was also #445, but alas it was not.

Dark Tower - The Gunslinger Signed / Limited #445 - Audio - Stephen King ($180 BIN) (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dark-Tower-The-Gunslinger-Signed-Limited-445-Audio-Stephen-King-/301532018145?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4634b575e1&rmvSB=true)

That would have been a rare combination to have.

Huge thanks to killjoy 72 (rep points deserved) for giving me the S/L Gunslinger Audio tape he recently purchased so that I could have it as part of my matching no. 445 Dark Tower S/L set. Also, a shout out to supersam for putting us together. You guys are great!!!

Ah, but if we provided too many advance readers copies, those might actually become the real book instead of just advance copies! ;)

In all seriousness, Bev's terrific book will be out in hardcover later this year. He was kind enough to update it a bit for us, too!

Just picked up my very first S/L. told myself if I was gonna go might as well go big go I got IT#36 with portfolio #113. Pretty stoked, it's A LOT bigger than expected. Now as I recoup the money from that purchase I guess I have to decide if I will stick with Gift editions or move to S/L. :excited:

What a night!
Yesterday, late by night I "discovered" another story I wrote (not horror) in an Irish magazine. You can read it, as well the other stories, here:

http://www.thebear-review.com/#!yours/c1qpd

C'mon guys, gohit, zelig, frik, merlin1958, and everyone in the forum, are invited to take a look. Don't be shy or too considerate – am waiting for your feedback, even the most destructive criticism! I can swallow everything. Lol.

P.S. – It's based on a true event: when I was 5 year old I went missing on the beach (in the story I'm in a desert) and police have been looking for me. The Israel Radio announced of my missing.
3 young Arabs found me, bought me chocolate and called the police who returned me back to my weeping mother. She thought I had drowned. My poor ma.

I now finally have a copy of "The Crate" in my King collection. Found this one at a Friends of the Library. It's not the first hardback release of "The Crate" (that was the Arbor House Treasury of Horror and the Supernatural, 1980). It's an abridged version of the second hardback release: Great Tales of Horror & the Supernatural, 1981. King did the introduction. This abridged version was released in 1985. So excited to finally have a copy of this story. Now watch, it will be released in The Bazaar of Bad Dreams. ;)

Hi Paul, thanks :)

I *think* the blue one is also from CD. The font on the spine is identical to the two black ones I have (slipcase and traycase) however it is slightly smaller than the black slipcase. It also does not have any blocking or the dome 'swirl' on the front like the black one.

The only other picture I can find is below, which links to CD's web site. This looks like a blue one to me as well. Maybe Brian will chip in and let us know?

I'm pretty sure we only produced one slipcase for Under the Dome, but it's been a while. Producing two doesn't sound like something we would do, though. We tend to produce one run for the aftermarket slipcases and then we're done. I know for sure the case should have front and spine stamping, and the case I just checked here in my collection is black. But it does look blue in that old photo. Weird...

Brian

Wait, we did make two slipcases! I forgot about the version of the book that came with the playing cards!

http://www.cemeterydance.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/_domecases.gif

I'm surprised we didn't do front stamping on both of them, though.

so matching books to slipcases it would be:

Blue Slipcase - Trade Edition
Black Slipcase - Limited edition with Cards
Black Tray Case - Signed Limited

Correct?

As I don't have the Signed Limited, I keep trade UK in the Blue, Trade US in the Black and Limited with cards in the Tray case :)

That sounds right to me... I always thought I had the S/L edition of this, but after checking, it's the gift edition. I think because it looks identical to the S/L, for some reason I thought I had the signed edition... well, that's yet another book to buy...

Blaze is not a CD case, it came from The Overlook Connection (http://www.overlookconnection.com/catalog/blazeslipcased1sthc-p-2550.html). TBH I'm not that fond of it, but there are currently no alternatives to be had. Overlook's Slipcases are a little bit amateur and gaudy IMHO no real design work has gone into any of them. They do one for FDNS which is just awful.

So - I finally picked up a copy of Maine Review this week! So excited. Now that I have this and Maine Magazine, there are only a few items left to complete my collection. . .

If anyone has any of these available for sale or trade, please e-mail me directly at Suspiria13@aol.com:

Marshroots
Contraband #1

I do have an extra copy of Contraband #2 that I'd be willing to trade for any of the above! Thanks~

Thanks! I've tried to navigate this site in the past but it's overwhelmingly huge!

I have an enormous King collection. Was hoping to share it here but I am not allowed to post photos or to add links. :-(

I have much of the pre-Carrie stuff. Only missing the 4 items listed above and of course things like The Maine Campus which is a pipe dream for everyone.

Anyway, thank you! If you know of any leads on a Marshroots (many people on the forum seem to own one!), please let me know!

Welcome! Looking forward to see your collection!

Yesterday I received a couple of items. I finally completed the Cavalier collection plus filled some holes in the non-fiction collection. And the great thing was that I bought one X-Files magazine that mentioned King in the cover but (as far as I remember) it wasn't listed on Justin Brooks' book. Well...it did include a piece by King inside. :)

Thanks to yet another great deal with Matt (Lot Guy) I have a nice S/L copy of The Talisman to go with my S/L Black House! Now I can hope for a third book in the Jack Sawyer saga :)

I see a current EBay auction HERE (http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Talisman-Stephen-King-Peter-Straub-SIGNED-special-illustrated-edition-/291413213679?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43d994c1ef) that could end up a good deal, I suppose. Also, post in the King Books/Items Wanted forum here (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?966-King-Books-Items-Wanted) and you may get responses! Good luck!

More Joy! A flatsigned (and dated) first/first of Misery:

And an uncorrected proof of Nightmares and Dreamscapes I found for $25 in excellent condition:

Awesome sauce! I'm green with envy! =)

9/24/05 - I can't remember what it was, but I'm pretty sure that corresponds to some NYC event? I vaguely remember a buzz around that date.

Was that the issue date for TDT VII maybe?

As far as I know this was signed at King's appearance at the The New Yorker Festival on 9/24/2005.
