My copy also arrived yesterday, but I just didn't feel like scanning it then. It IS a lot bigger than I expected, but the seller just put it in a padded envelope. The top of the back left side is a little messed up--I don't know if it happened in transit or it shipped that way. For the price, it was worth it, though.

Yes, same packaging for me. One corner is bumped, so that could have happened in shipping... Otherwise, it's in good shape.

I'm curious about the small sticker on the front bottom right of the cover, where it says "Book is eligible for sale / 17 USC & 109". I wonder just what that means.

It takes years for a signature to change over time. These signature sheets were signed by Johhny Mains over a very short period of time - maybe a couple of weeks or less.

If this was a Stephen King signature we were talking about, it would be a very different story and many people would be going apeshit right about now...

If you just compare the letter ‘s’ ; all three have completely different mechanics. One goes down and to the left, one goes down then up to the left and the other goes down up to the right then to the left and finish with a loop on the right. If all three are by the same person it is the oddest thing I have seen.

No, we wouldn't be. It's very unlikely that a reputable and respected publisher would forge a signature in a signed limted book. Especially a publisher that has published signed editions for some of the bigggest names in the field: King, Bradbury, Wolfe, Powers, Hill, Gaiman etc.

I understand your frustration with PS but this is reaching. As for signatures changing, my looks very fifferent after signing it 100 times in a day.

I don't think anyone's claiming the publisher was involved. That would be malevolent and not worth any publisher's reputation.

This kind of difference really could (note I'm saying "could") be attributable to an author or artist having someone else help sign a bunch of signature sheets. The striking differences in the 3 signatures are hard to deny.

As we're seeing with "Gone Girl" those signature sheets get sent to an author/artist and sometimes don't come back for months. The publisher, out of respect or just practice, surely doesn't police the signatures once they get them back. This is just a weird case. I doubt this artist, or most others, would think about super-informed collector sites such as ours combining signature images from 3 different sheets and comparing.

This is just something be curious and speculate about. i find that interesting.

My new pride and joy today that I want to share with you, dear members, is something else: my short story (sorry, not a Kingish one) - "Yours? - featuring in the Irish magazine: "The Bear Review".
If you hit on 'READ ON' by the black bear's paw in the following link - you get it. There's also others' good fiction there.
ENJOY AMIGOS!

Not only does, Hyman Roth run molasses out of Cuba with Don Corleone, but he also writes great fiction!!! Who'd have thought? LOL

I'm a relatively new collector, the last 2 years or so, and primarily focused on signed limiteds. I've decided to focus the next year on getting very good to near fine copies of Doubleday firsts. The eBay prices seem to have been creeping up on them lately, and I have a feeling decent copies will get harder to find. Anyway, to start my mission, my new prides and joys:

Thanks! The girl was so shady! I did have to fight for it... thank goodness Doris stepped in and made the call. The certificates (and maybe a member here who won and opened the envelope can chime in) look like they are on a nice card stock with the name of the book printed on the outside of the envelope. From holding it in the direct light I see a couple of signatures I think... The book is signed itself but I cannot say if King sign these or not. I was told then by Doris that King has a library in his Florida home and offered the 20 books to help out with raising money. They were authenticated by a book dealer in Tampa to be 1st/1st's and then signed and wrapped up with the envelopes.

I have never been so excited about a book!!!! As many of you know Salems lot is my favorite title. I've been after my own personal Grail for quite some time now. This tops getting a 'Salem's Lot proof for me anyways. The Centipede Press Salems lot Deluxe edition Roman Numeral/Lettered. I had only searched for a PC unnumbered copy due to it being the most affordable, But when the opportunity arose that I had, I jumped on it. Centipede Press made XXV Roman copies, I-XV black which were available for sale & I-X red these were not for sale as they were reserved for the author. The black & PC have come up for sale since released, but the red copies supposedly have not, understandably. I could be wrong but after talking with some of the super collectors on the site it seems this may be the only RED copy among us.
Pictures don't begin to do this book justice. The leather is amazing, traycase simple but compliments it perfectly & the paper used is by far the best I've ever seen giving it the old gothic look it deserves!
The copy I recieved also came with an extra traycase(which will house my signed Betts Prototype)

Thanks everyone for the comments!!!!
Kris the story I can share are these beautiful pictures & a Lettered Firestarter is in the same ballpark. This was a private transaction & I have agreed not to disclose any information in regards to where it came from, sorry.

K... gotta ask ya this. Are you done with Salems? Or are you still going to collect them (like the new CD series for instance)? Are you still going to buy more S/L's? What now? lol

Here is my Pride & Joy # IV red

John it was my pleasure, I'm glad your happy and that I was able to help you out.
Congrats!!!!

Kris I'm still going to look for a PC & Black Roman numeral & a red numbered, CD's Edition will definetly be something I'm going to get! I'd like to get a proof as well but not often does that oppurtunity arise. It will be a little bit though as this one I saved a long time for.

I don't post my new prides and joys here very often since they're rarely King-related, but I'll make an exception this time around...I finally and at last received one of Holy Grails, this one from Centipede Press. It came out in 2014, so at least I didn't have wait too long to get it, unlike some Holy Grails that never seem to get closer to reality...

Good luck! I'm going after an S/L set, but figure that will take some time, and more money than I can spend right now, so am "settling" for first editions. So far I've managed to get a Song of Susannah S/L, which will be taking it's place on my bookshelf shortly.

You are not blind! That's the F&SF issues where the Gunslinger was published. Found the set on ebay for $150.

Nice.

You don't see many of these signed (Scribner hardback without dust jacket).

I imagine less than five members here have a signed copy.

You got it for a good price I see….I would have snagged it if I had seen it first!

Ha! thanks Rick. Yeah it is indeed the Scribner edition without DJ. I was pleased with the price. There was also a best offer option but I didn't want to risk waiting.

Good call….it is so rare, I would not have quibbled over a few bucks and risked it either.

I had King sign mine in Toronto 2013….until today, I have never seen another.

Interesting! Thanks for letting me know that. Well, at least it is in pencil so I can just erase it. Since I didn't pay too much (IMO), I'm just glad it's an authentic signature!
