Took me 6 months to get me a copy from Iran, but it has arrived; 'Stephen King Uncollected Stories' in Farsi.
Now I need to find someone who can tell me which stories are in there. 'Jhonathan and the Witches' should be one of them.

No. It was published by an Iranian publisher. Though it's safe to say it is unauthorized.

I was entering a stack of new items I've picked up in the last few weeks and I looked at my database total.
4005---I have surpassed 4000 Stephen King items! It's taken almost 30 years and of course many $$$$$,
but as a completest it's been a joy. Of course, tomorrow is another day and there is always something new!

Yes, you are right. Magazines, newspapers, comics are about half. King books, limiteds, signed copies and early rares are another 800+, anthologies and books with king fiction and non-fiction
another 700+, Movie ephemera, scripts, DVD's and promo items make up the remainder.

Typically, I haven't been one to announce my new items or accomplishments simply because I just
don't have as much time to spend on here as I'd like but...

Kerry, Over 4000 now… WOW! It does not surprise me though as the last time I viewed your collection, each and every item was one more fabulous piece. As much as others would like to see it, I cannot imagine trying to post pics of the whole lot. You have been a great mentor, source of information and a major influence in seeing my wallet remains thin over the years. You were the start of my addiction as you invited me to go to a signing with you so I could get one of your precious items signed for you.
If you recall it was my idea to take a long lunch the day prior to the signing and go make our required purchase in advance so we would know where the store was and not have to wait on signing day. My good luck or decline into poverty and the depravity of collecting King started when we found Mr King had been to Dunn & Dunn bookstore that morning and randomly signed numerous various books.
My collection started that day with 7 newly signed books at retail cost. It all spiraled out of control after that fateful day.
I thank you and should remind you I have a couple additions to your list (which never got mailed) coming your way .
And one more point…] I still get a kick when I find a rare item that you do not possess especially when I add it to my collection. :Ball Kick:

I really liked the book, although I know some have issues with the length. The movie, on the other hand, well, was lacking!

No. That is the pagination, and story order, in the version of it I have. That's why it doesn't match. It's also why I didn't originally include it.

No doubt your translator had the least trouble with the numbers.

Niels

Jerome, thanks for the translation!

Does she confirm it's in Farsi? I have difficulty to determine if Farsi and Persian are 2 different languages. Could be that someone from Iran says 'Farsi' and one from the US 'Persian', to the same language. (Like 'Deutsch' and 'German')

So I had Michael Whelan do a remarque for me from a scene in the Dark Tower #7. There are a ton of scenes I love but this one was the end of the Dark Man, the baddest bad ass throughout King's work. I thought it fitting. He did my vision justice for sure!!! Enjoy:)

Hey Dan - that IT proof is really interesting! I also have one of the CD 25th anniversary IT proofs that's similarly labeled as an "Advance Uncorrected Proof", but mine has the art on the front cover that was eventually printed on the DJ. It is, if I remember correctly, 1 of 20 advance bound proofs CD created, of which about 10 were distributed in grab bags. Numbers may not be exact, but pretty close to info Brian posted a few months back.

So, I'm wondering about this very different looking proof that has the same designation of "Advance Uncorrected Proof", but appears to be quite different otherwise. I'd now guess from looking at yours that I have an Advance Reader Copy while you have an actual uncorrected proof that was produced solely for internal purposes. It's very interesting and something I didn't know existed in a bound state!

I absolutely love my IT ARC and consider it to be one of the most valuable I own (although that's just speculation as we've yet to see one on the open market - to my knowledge). But I sepculate partly because of it's massive size, partly it's rarity (~1 of 20), and partly because of my appreciation of the story itself.

But we clearly have different "Advance Uncorrected Proofs" and I'd really love to hear more about what exactly you have there and how you obtained it.

Thanks!

The IT Proof Dan has posted is what I would consider the more rare version. It is the internal office proof. I have bothe the inter office & the review Orbik art. The inter office copies are used during production so copies that are left in Fine condition are very limited to my understanding. John or Brian might have better info though.
The Orbik cover is still a very rare item & looks great!

The french translation of MR MERCEDES will be released on wednesday, and today I recieved the book in two status (the final version and a proof).

I must admit that I am a bit surprised by this proof, printed in january, since I know that the author that was on stage with King in Paris got a proof of the same book by christmas, therefore printed in december. This is the second time that it seem to me that there are two status of french proof.
The other time was a few months ago when someone shared with me a picture of a french proof of JOYLAND that was different from mine as had (what seemed to be a random picture) on it, which, at first I thought was for hiding contact details...

http://club-stephenking.fr/img/collection-herbertwest/mr-mercedes--french--proof.jpg

NB: the books are of the same size. It doesnt look that way, but it is just an illusion. However, the height of the book is different, despite the same number of pages. I guess that the final version has a thicker paper...

Took me 6 months to get me a copy from Iran, but it has arrived; 'Stephen King Uncollected Stories' in Farsi.
Now I need to find someone who can tell me which stories are in there. 'Jhonathan and the Witches' should be one of them.

http://i61.tinypic.com/2u9n49e.jpg http://i59.tinypic.com/m79fte.jpg
One of the ladies doing the translation gave me her translation today. I should see the other lady tomorrow. Both are Afghani, so they are not actually Persian (Iranian), thus this dialect is not their native Farsi. Neither one is familiar with Stephen King.
