This book arrived today , my cheapest book in a long time :)
But absolutely a big P&J for me !

''Printed in a Limited Edition of 200 copies for Stephen Jones 50th Birthday, 2003''
King contribute with a short greeting:

"DEAR STEVE

You´re turning 50? 50??!?!!? Mate, that´s hard to believe. You don´t look a day over...er... FORTY-NINE! Oh well , my mother used to tell me that nobody loves a smartass, so you´d better disregard that. Handsome is
as handsome does , and seen in that light, you do very well.
HAVE THE HAPPIEST OF HAPPY BIRTHDAYS !!
Stephen King"

And the book is inscribed to ME by Stephen Jones !!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone!

I'm still at the stage of going over periodically and gazing lovingly at The Stand S/L. Still can't quite believe I finally own a copy.

Hannes, outwith the Dark Tower series I have all the S/L by King except the two I mentioned earlier. I plan to start on the DT series in the next year or two, although I can't ever see myself owning a Gunslinger S/L anytime soon.

We Deal In Lead, I got the book on ebay around 10 days ago from an American seller. It would be quite cool if it was previously yours.

You can contact Mark Stutzman at eloqui@eloqui.com. Tell him what book you'd like to have remarqued, any specific ideas, etc. He'll send you a price quote, you send him the book, and he does the work. He is great to deal with.

The proper way to keep books is in a dark room of constant temperature. But you don't get to enjoy them that way. Just keep it well away from light and dust.

http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/4820/markham.jpg

I think it'll be really cool to have fifty-year old book associated with a TV show that was canceled 51 years ago. This is one of Lawrence Block's earliest published books (and under his own name, no less). He was 22 at the time. Two things I didn't realize:

1) They had TV tie-in novels back in 1961.
2) I had heard that that "Markham" was canceled after one season, but the show actually ran from May 1959 to September 1960. It aired a new episode almost every week, so its "one season" run actually resulted in 59 episodes (None of which were called "The Case of the Pornographic Photos").

From Dec 7 to 11, I had a stand in the local largest comic con in Argentina. One of the visitors was Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire). I talked for a while with him (he's a very kind person) and he sketched me a lot of copies (for me and two friends), and I'll be interviewing him personally very soon.

Anyway...pics. :)

What's the deal about 350 down to 150? So they reduced the limitation? Maybe because of unsold copies?

SCREEM Magazine #23. There are two cover variations. I opted for the Nicholson variant from THE SHINING. This magazine has a super article by Bev Vincent titled "Overlooking the Overlook" in which he details both Kubrick's version and King's miniseries version. Very nice. If you don't have one you should probably get one. They are on eBay or order, as I did, from the website screemag.com

As happy as I was to get the issues of Comics Review yesterday I was almost more impressed with the custom case that the seller had made for the set years ago. He explained to me that he worked closely with the case maker and used only acid free materials to protect the fanzines for years. I had only seen a photo of the spine of the case so I was surprised to see how pretty it is from the front. The seller just did a wonderful job on the case.

http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb54/carlosdetweiller/comicsreviewcase1.jpg

http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb54/carlosdetweiller/comicsreviewcase2.jpg

On the inside it is lined with what feels like velour. And there are three sliding trays (also velour lined); one for each of the three issues.

Not, just the comics, but I think combined with that exquisite case that has gotta' be one of the coolest things in your collection, Bob...and we all know that's saying a hell of a lot. Just amazing! Congratulations! And since you mentioned when you bought it that you didn't think you'd regret it even though it wasn't the best time for it I'll point out if you hadn't you would have probably regretted it EVERY day afterwards. Even ignoring the rarity that is just super cool.

Officially no but some things bother me about the situation. The owner of KWP is a good friend of FMP's owner and was very silent when questions were raised about whether Kings Way Press was in fact another incarnation of Full Moon Press. The signature sheets for the publication of Killers Diary included the name of the owner of Full Moon Press. The website for Kings Way Press was designed by the owner of Full Moon Press. Things like that. Makes me uncomfortable. Granted nothing solid but it still feels a bit hinky.

Thanks for the info connecting King's Way with Full Moon. I didn't get burned with Full Moon but I had pre-ordered a couple of their books through Camelot. Camelot doesn't require payment up front so I was OK that time. You are right to be wary of small presses but even the seemingly legit ones with a good track record can go under. Jeff Conner of Scream/Press still has some of my money on pre-ordered books after he disappeared back in the late 80's. I think Peter Schneider of Hill House Press left many customers on the hook when he went underground a few years ago. I'm sure there are many, many more. You just never know.

Frank,

What are the differences between the 1/100 and 1/15? Only a different numbering or something else?

All of the Transgalaxis leatherbound Stephen King books are limited to 15 or ´maybe´ 25.
I must ask someone from Transgalaxis, it´s not a publishing company, it´s a big shop specialized in Science Fiction and Fantasy.
They've produced these books because they wanted to have good-looking leatherbound Stephen King books. The costs of production were MUCH higher than the selling price, there was no ´real´ sale, they offered this books to some special customers.

Here are 4 other Transgalaxis books: ES (IT), Sie (Misery), Drei (Drawing of the Three), Langoliers.

Now it´s time to show my best new stuff from 2011. It was my main goal to become an German Stephen King
book REMARQUED from the Coverartist. It was not so easy, most of the newer SK Books in Germany are ... ugly or the Covers are ´pc´ generated or the artist is dead.

When i look in my shelves i finaly found ´some´ amazing German bookcovers... i contact the Coverartist and asked him if some Remarques are ´possible´. He was very friedly and surprised, i was the first person ever that asked for Remarques... We talked a lot... I start to search for ´perfect condition books´ it was not so easy, this SK books are 30 years old but finaly i found some NICE books and.... i become AMAZING Remarques:cool2:

CUJO REMARQUED AND SIGNED from Cover Artist GERHARD AXMANN

Mr Axmann created the covers for this 5 book Stephen King series.
https://fotoalbum.web.de/gast/stockerlone/Stephen_King_and_Friends/printImage?imageId=168092223&imageType=image

After I received the Remarqued and signed books, i asked whether it would be possible to get more remarques for other collectors (tdt:biggrin:) and Mr Axmann says:
No problem, but it would be good if i can inform him before someone contacted him, he is realy bussy and he don´t wanna be ´overfloated´ from ´remarque-orders´ .

If anyone is interested in an German Remarqued book from Mr. Axmann .... pls PM me !!!

Audrey is the best.

I love your Crimson King painting Dark One it is fantastic, if my Roland X was not available I would have purchased the CK absolutely fantastic

I can't see the detail but I think Audrey said yours was being framed with the new frame they had just found (skulls and roses) is that right?

DarkOne
12-23-2011, 10:25 PM
Yes it is the skull and roses frame! Looks fantastic! Audrey also said something about Stephen King having the companion piece to this one with the same frame!!!! I sent her an email to find out more details and
if thats true, my god thats one heck of a bonus!!!!

I got something from my Brother in Law, which I think is pretty cool and collectible, but I am not exactly sure what it is. My B-I-L is a graphic artist and teacher and knows folks in the entertainment Biz. He got this from a friend before Thanksgiving, but neglected to send it to me until Christmas. He's not into King or anything, but knows I am. The thing itself makes no mention as to what it is and the only hints are that the discs (4 in total) are titled "Screener's" and "Press Materials" with a contact email and tel no. for someone at A&E networks It appears to be some sort of advance promo item, but I would sure appreciate any help from folks here to actually ID it. Obviously, it is not quite as intricate as some I have seen posted here, but it certainly was produced in advance of the Network Debut and quite handsomely I might add.

Any and all help appreciated!!!!

This is the insert inside the phonograph Bag of Bones promo. So what you have is just part of the set you are missing the 10"by 10" by 4 1/2" phonograph that it goes in.The entire promo has sold for over $300 (someone payed that & did not get the discs) & as low as $189. You say that you have 4 discs yet you only picture 3 and the one I have only has 3 so I assume that this is a typo on your part.

Yes, I have a "Screener Pt1 & 2" and a "Press materials" DVD. Sorry for the error. So you're saying it is actually a sort of "part" of the original "Advance Viewer Copy" that like say, Mulleins, got with the whole phonograph package?

I just picked this one up - Book of the Dead S/L. I was getting tired of SK's modern signature. Wanted one of his older ones. I like the way the limitation page is not "everyone sign on the line." Kind of looks like a yearbook page:

Why can't they put in like 4 sig. pages so it would look nicer instead looking so crowded?
Or is it just me?
To me the S/L of Knowing Darkness has the best looking sig. pages of any book.
