ALSO, Wife will let me buy any King book I want now...

Ah, this takes me back to a small window of time when I briefly believed that allowing (actually, "allowing" isn't really the right word, maybe "blessing" is better, since I don't actually control my wife) my better half to splurge a bit on some her-things might result in the loosening of purse strings with regard to my own dealings. I guess I'll chalk it up to the naivete of one's mid- to late-40s.

Had a great time at Boston Comic Con this past weekend. Got a chance to see Jae Lee again, and I couldn't resist adding some more of his work to my collection. These all come from separate volumes of the Dark Tower Graphic novels. I got the first one last year, while the next three are all new. I love Jae's work, especially on WTTKH. Hope you do too.

I’m surprised by how small the Fantasy & Science Fiction S/L is. I haven’t seen many lately, so I’m glad to add this to the shelves.

Chad, that's an amazing milestone for any King collector. Congratulations.

And hot damn that's a great Whelan illustration. If ever I have the opportunity to acquire or request such a thing, this is more or less exactly the kind of thing I would want. Roland gazing heroically into the distance has a resonance that only Tower junkies can appreciate.

I normally wouldn't copy a post from my collection thread, but I had to #humblebrag.

With the recent acquisition of Insomnia, I now have all the King Hodder signed limited editions:

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/930/medium/IMG_0209.JPG

I couldn't be happier about this "set". This has been the focus of my King collecting over the past year. While there are certainly nicer editions out there, these are still quite attractive, they have a pretty small limitation, and U.K. Editions are my thing. :)

Many of these titles came from members here, or through contacts made here. For those that didn't, the information on this site informed me if market values and what I should expect to pay. So thank you all.

Same here! I want her to appreciate them, and I think she wants to appreciate them (she's a book lover as well, but not a collector), but sometimes the prices are so crazy that she can't get past that part and onto the appreciation part...

I usually cover my ass by saying "Well, I could sell it right now and make the money back, or more" (which is usually but not always true). But many times I just appreciate them on my own (or with you guys).

Thank you, all. I agree, I like the way they look together.

As for how they selected what titles to make an S/L? It's a mystery. Some of these titles also have an edition with a faux sig, and other titles only have the faux sig edition.

Congratulations everyone!

More or less one year ago I purchased a 1968's playbill from the University of Maine that was signed back then by Stephen King. I contacted the seller to ask if she had more items like this one and she told me she had still a lot of stuff to check. Time went by and I got a message a couple of weeks ago. She found a 1967 playbill, again signed by several including Stephen King (this time as Steve), so I repeated the process: contacted Marsha to confirm it was a real deal. It was. I bid, won the auction (cheaper than the other playbill) and today I received the piece.

I couldn’t resist this one when i saw it. My friends have called me vinnie since forever. This is a Dead Zone inscribed at the World Fantasy Convention in 1980.
It’s exciting to me that King handled this book and then went home to continue work on the first draft of IT.

Thanks a lot! I’m far from an expert on SK signatures, but I was pretty sure this one is legit. There are two books on biblio right now that were also signed on that day, one of them a 1st The Shining. I asked the seller for a picture and they turn out to look very similar, same pen used.

Been absent from site while raising the new kid over the last 18 months. This and getting ready to buy my 2nd house has halted adding to my collection. Luckily I had an idea to have a custom case made for my #51 Gunslinger and commissioned before the great money drain.

I'll talk a little more about collaboration details on her thread, but Rachel Readman did an amazing job and finalized the case with Dick Olson. I was pretty much speechless when I saw for the first time :D

So excited to finally get this - with two new remarques or my collection. The coin is a nice touch, especially with the matching number. Very cool. Much bigger than I had imagined. Enjoy!

I received this (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stephen-King-first-edition-uncut-and-complete-excellent-codition-/163309817792?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l10137) today......I would welcome opinions on the signature and what I paid for it.

The auction pictures are pretty bad, but I would rate the book as near fine. It has a tight spine (which is sometimes hard to find on a book this big), and corners are in decent shape. It could use a new DJ, but that should not be too hard to find.

Thank you Richard.

This seems to be a tough title to find signed in a 1st edition....at least I think so.

With this book's arrival into my collection, I am down to 11 books on my signed 1st hit-list.

It would be ten, but I had to return a signed copy of IT recently (click here (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?2482-Book-Dealers-eBay-sellers-dt.org-buyers-sellers-to-Avoid-like-the-Plague&p=1127018#post1127018)).

In August I was lucky enough to win Suntup's FB competition for a large US IT print. Thanks again Suntup!

Now that I have all three IT cover prints framed, I thought it would be a kick to get my whole IT gang together to take a group picture.

http://oklahomamusic.jsn-server3.com/everyman/images/100.JPG

Prepublication IT is my passion. FLTR:

Prepublication of a chapter in Fantasy, photocopies of the manuscript as King sent it to Viking, US and UK proofs, the Viking promo pamphlet with button, the hardback first editions, the Signet promo pamphlet, the paperbacks.

so happy to have all of this stuff

Not high demand items for a lot of folks, but after MANY years of collecting...I finally own a copy of Black Magic & Music containing King's non-fiction piece, "A Novelist's Prospective on Bangor" and the illusive (to me anyways) issue of Games magazine containing a crossword written by King. It's all in the hunt they say...so it's very nice that after 20 years, these pieces just fall into my lap!
