When we found out we could get one book signed I had to pick Storm of the Century. Tippy pointed out a few years ago that the paperback copy was the first printing. Not the Hard Cover. Barlowe did the same thing to me with Cycle of the Werewolf. I got the paperback signed only to find out the hardcover was the first. I tease both of them about trying to Drive me crazy!!!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. My flat signed first edition collection is complete until... Gwendy and Sleeping Beauties.

I have the green mile hardback and book one of green mile. Tippy said the same thing. So I guess I need the other 5 signed now. I do have nightmareand umneys. I have chronicles of harris Burdick and several other anthologies. Along with the first 2 startling mysteries. My signed 1st edition collection percentage is 63%

By that I mean 63% of my first editions were signed in person saved a lot of money not having to buy flat signed first editions and I know they're all authentic other flat sign fun books I have include cycle of the werewolf hardback and Colorado kid and Joyland

I have two Storm of the Century 1 hardback 1 paperback two cycle of the werewolf 1 hardback 1 paperback

It's been a long time since I posted here but since February it has been madness for me. The book was released in Argentina and in less than one month I gave more than 40 interviews, I've been featured in one of the two major Argentinean newspapers on the Sunday magazine (more than 300K readers known), along with a talk I gave at an university which has been recorded and will be broadcasted in TV. The week prior this one I had interviews on all days except Wednesday. :)

Here are some pics of the magazine and two other newspapers where I was featured:

I am very happy to have picked a set of these up with the accompanied letter. I have never seen them for sale ever. The odd time on Ebay jammed in a book perhaps... but these are pretty cool, real sigs, and mint:)

Congrats to all the recent P&J's!

I never thought I'd ever see this original in person, let alone own it. The stars must have been aligned for this to happen. It was outside of my 'budget', but it was one of those things that you simply cannot pass up, so you do what you can to make it happen.

I just picked this up from the framer, and love the framing on this. You can't see it on the picture, but the black matting is cloth with a subtle texture.

This piece was long thought to have been lost over the years, but I unearthed it about a month ago.

I just received these moments ago and they could be shown here, in the remarques thread, Dameron thread or elsewhere, but I picked Pride and Joy.

Some of you might remember (back a stretch) that I own a Charlie Choo Choo original from San Diego Comic Con....which I sent to Ned Dameron who remarqued my copy and inscribed it "To Jake "Bama" Chambers....Eddie is the Key! Ned Dameron"....VERY thrilled to own that

Now some of you have managed to get Stephen King to sign your Choo Choo copies which is tre cool I must tell you (Matt I think you have all versions signed by King - outstanding!)

So, I looked for something different and thought I'd hit up my buddy Ned Dameron again.....For a reasonable (some might debate what is "reasonable") price he has remarqued 6 more Choo Choo copies for me....three of which I am keeping so I will have 4 remarqued different versions of Charlie the Choo Choo....the remarqued 1st edition should arrive within the coming week, but I want to share pictures of my remarqued US 1st anomaly copy and my remarqued UK S/L #296 (matches one of my complete same-number DT sets....thankee sai to our leader RF for swapping numbers with me!!!) So here are two of my additional remarqued Choo Choos....the anomaly US version and the UK S/L

US 1st anomaly:

It's either a translation issue, or pure speculation.
At this time I have nothing planned regarding a special edition (s) of IT.
CD did it, and rumor has is Suntup is doing one. No need for me to try and compete with them.
I have several different ideas for other titles.

I am SO OVER THE MOON to report that I have finally completed my IT collection. I thought this was never going to happen and then by fluke (and for a fair price) IT DOES. I know have my last Grail for my collection... AND only the 2nd copy I have ever seen. A FINE UK 1st..... and a beaut of an old signature:)

Sounds like it's a good day. Congrats!

Nothing big but something special, bought a bigger package of Stephen King books one of them was this ES/IT from Heyne.
I looked inside, and surprice its misbound/printed.... several pages missing, some pages are 2 times in the book.
Very nice, one more for my misbound/misprint collection.:coo3l:

The two different cases were custom runs. I was involved in the creative process, but not the actual production of the cases. The center case was released several years ago. member Garrell did the art for it.
The other two cases have art by Ned Dameron.

The variant of the Pet Sematary soundtrack. The variant is randomly inserted; I took a chance and got lucky. Not really al that valuable, but I like vinyl and I thought it was a cool item. Listening it for the first time. Ow while reading Different Seasons.

Two weeks ago I was invited to a radio to speak about my book and Stephen King, and it was inside the book fair where I presented Todo Sobre Stephen King. On that day there were three big names presenting books: John Katzenbach, Carlos Ruiz-Zafón and Arturo Pérez-Reverte. I really admire Pérez-Reverte and love his works, but after two months where I spent it from interview to interview, I told my wife I was not attending in order to spend some time home. Well, when I was asked to do the interview, she told me to see if I could, at least, get my books signed after the event. So I finished the interview in the radio and went to the line. Last time I saw Arturo was ten years ago and I went mute in front of him. This time I was able to speak ( :D ). He was very kind last year praising my book via Twitter and his magazine (Zenda) published an awesome review, so I thanked him for that. And I got a great picture :)

I think the deal I got here was rather awesome. Was browsing ebay USA a week past on Saturday when I spotted the listing below.
I was pretty confident it was the book I thought it was when I saw it was autographed by the author and also shrinkwrapped, but I noticed the seller only shipped in the USA. I thought I'd take a chance and emailed the seller asking if he'd mind shipping to the UK. Luckily he was online and replied within a minute or two saying it was OK so I used the buy-it-now option and the book arrived this morning:

I removed it from the box, then the bubblewrap, and saw that it was indeed shrinkwrapped and that the all important gold sticker was on the cover:

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m609/kingpix/fud4.jpg

I removed the shrinkwrap:

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m609/kingpix/fud.jpg

I opened the book itself and lo and behold:

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m609/kingpix/fud2.jpg

It was, as I'd hoped, a copy of the edition of 100 copies that that Stephen King signed for The Science Fiction Book Club. I don't know exactly how much the book is worth now in the secondary market, but I'm pretty sure it's worth a bit more than the $29.99 I paid for it. A case of me being in the right place at the right time, the seller not really knowing what he was selling, and me keeping my fingers crossed for 10 ten days!!! :)

I was able to get this same book 2 or 3 months ago from my favorite bookdealer. It cost me out of pocket $60 and I was extremely grateful!!! Not counting s/l posters and portfolios I am done to 2 missing pieces in my collection

So my intention when I left the house to was to simply pick up a reading copy of Gwendy's.

Still don't have one to read.....

Well, it is nowhere near as exciting or full of adventures as the stories Lot Guy, Rosannebarr, or Tippy can come up with!!!

A local shop owner has pretty regular contact with King. Sometimes when Stephen comes in he will grab a couple copies of whatever is most recent off the shelf and sign them. Luckily I have developed enough of a history with the shop that I am on his short list of people he sets them aside for.

Of course, now that he is back in town, I will start bringing my "Lucky Day Bag" with me. It always has a couple of Stephen's and Tabitha's books in it.

I had an idea not long after I got home and after sending out an email, I have boxed Gwendy back up. She will be making a short trip back to visit Papa Richard for a little while. Then she will come home, go on the shelf and patiently wait for her new slipcase. :)

I can still put in a plug for a Haven fund here - since although my copy wasn't a 1/1 IT - it was the CD gift edition - with a slightly more lengthy inscription in a balloon - wishing my son a happy birthday and asking if he wanted a balloon - since they all float...still my all time favorite King signed book in my collection. So cannot thank RF, Merlin and all the wonderful people involved in conducting the HF each year.

Chad,

I posted in a FB group that ever since I saw your book a few years ago I've always dreamed about having a similar inscription with a balloon remarque and something about wanting a balloon or floating. Yours is the only other one I've seen like that but I'm guessing there are a handful of similar inscriptions, I just haven't seen them.

I'm very excited about my recent King acquisitions. I’d also like to sincerely thank Shibus from whom these came, and for his generous communication with me. I am forever indebted to, and grateful for, this broad King community.

The first is a very fine The Dead Zone US 1st with one of a very unique inscription dated close to publication date.

The second is a very fine Danse Macabre US 1st, dated prior to publication (according to catalogue). It is inscribed to author Robert Bloch, one of the six authors to whom the book is dedicated, and Bloch’s wife.

Being out of a job, I'm being careful to try to stay cash neutral with acquisitions....I have acquired some recent treasures (for me anyway).

1) I bought a Lettered Dark Tower Portfolio from Overlook Connection...it was to contain an original art piece by Glen Chadbourne...I got Letter "W" and I was elated to find that I got an original Chadbourne painting of Shardik...this will go nicely with the Ned Dameron remarque that I own of Shardik.

2) I acquired a 1st edition Charlie the Choo Choo signed by Stephen King.

3) I acquired a 1st edition Gwendy's Button Box flatsigned by Stephen King... I know Chris Walker scored a copy from a bookstore in Maine (he was the 1st that I know of)...This is the second unless others here have managed a copy.

This isn't a King book, but it is my very first signed 1st edition. I hope.

My wife and I were on our way to Ikea to add to our Billy collection so we thought we would hit some thrift stores on the way. After about five unsuccessful stops we pulled in to a Goodwill store. It wasn't looking too promising. I scanned the Hardcover books with not one King sighting, so just for kicks I started looking through the kids books section. On the bottom shelf I spotted this familiar sight. I picked it up and noticed right away that it already had Brodart installed. Okay, that's kind of weird. Maybe it's a library copy? When I flip open the front cover to check for a price clipped inner I see the price is still there. And the inner flap is bookmarking the title page. That's when I see it, signed and dated!!! My first thought, of course, was, "is this authentic?" It looks like other signatures I've seen before, but I have no way to tell.

This is where you guys come in :) Did I really get a signed 1st edition at Goodwill for $1.57?

I would say yes you did. :).
In 07 he generally hadn't gotten into the "doodles" that came later. And as much as I love his stuff, no one is likely to forge a sig on a book that can still be had for under $100. Plus, it just plain looks like his sig.

Well done!! Kind of a rush, wasn't it? :)

Yes, honestly I really couldn't believe what I was seeing. I didn't expect to find that. I agree, it's not like it's a signed 1st edition Carrie or anything like that. But it's a start :)
