with my recent rant on the Cloverfield monster, i thought i would post a poll on the King of all Movie Monsters i picked the four most well known monsters, King Kong, Godzilla, Gamera and, as much as i dislike it, the Cloverfield Sea/Space Monster Thingy (hey i said well known). by the way, if you favorite monster on this list is that stupid zilla thing that appeared in that cookie cutter remake, Godzilla does not include that thing, and for anybody who hated it as much as i did;

Godzilla--although the original Japanese version (NOT "King of the Monsters") was better. The Japanese were the only ones qualified to make a movie about a monster created by radioactivity.

Exactly the same for me. Love the original Kong and Peter Jacksons remake. The one made in the late 70s early 80s was a pile of shite.

I love the orginal King Kong. I cry every time I see King Kong fall off the empire state building. and also wish he would squish some of the assholes

as a kid i obsessed over Godzilla until i was around eight. the first videogame i ever played was a Godzilla game. the one for the SNES. i now have that on a ROM.

Well we all know great Cthulhu is so far above and beyond any of these listed that there was no place on the poll for him as he would just destroy it. In fact, adding him to the poll would probably make the thread explode.

Brice is absolutely correct. That's the only good Cthulhu movie out there (so far).

I can also wholeheartedly recommend the Solstice CDs on the website.

Its either Godzilla or the thing from Cloverfield. I'd say the thing from Cloverfield is more deadly to people but I'm not convinced that it could take Godzilla in a good old fashioned toe-to-toe. For my money, if you're going to be the "king" of monsters you have to be able to kick the crap out of the rest of the monsters. (Its a personal standard of mine)
