Once Allie did something that gave her back her maidenhood - that's what Roland thought.
What did she do?

Daghain
09-27-2007, 11:05 AM
Covered her face with her hands?

Letti
09-27-2007, 11:12 AM
Covered her face with her hands?

Girl, you rock.

Daghain
09-27-2007, 12:40 PM
Thanks. :D

How many years was Mia originally promised with her son?

Matt
09-27-2007, 12:41 PM
7 years

Daghain
09-27-2007, 01:07 PM
You got it! Feather is yours. :D

Matt
09-28-2007, 05:56 AM
Cool. :nana:

Okay...

What was the route that the Wolves used to transport kids to and from Fedic?

Darkthoughts
09-28-2007, 06:14 AM
Thunderclap/Fedic?

Matt
09-28-2007, 06:47 AM
I was hoping how it was done could be spelled out. The track and everything.

This is mostly because I never quite understood how they did it.

chuxter
09-28-2007, 07:08 AM
The Thunderclap/Fedic door was one way. They could exit the door and ride there and get the children but going back they had to meet and go back via train.

"They go to the Calla side of Thunderclap by door and come back to Fedic by train"

DT6 pg 248

Matt
09-28-2007, 07:13 AM
Wonderful--thanks Chuxter

You have the feather my man

What is the one state in the Union that someone can't pronounce correctly? Who is this, and how does this person pronounce the state?

Bumping the question -

What is the one state in the Union that someone can't pronounce correctly? Who is this, and how does this person pronounce the state?

Wuducynn
10-02-2007, 10:13 AM
Hint time - It has to do with where someone was supposed to go but never did.

Letti

This post gives a lot of hope to all of us.

That is so not helpful.

Wuducynn
10-02-2007, 10:52 AM
Well last night I told you it was in DT7 right? Well who in that book was supposed to go somewhere and never did? Originally he was supposed to go and then those who were sending him, were REAL happy that he didn't go.

Wuducynn
10-02-2007, 10:53 AM
Again the question is -

What is the one state in the Union that someone can't pronounce correctly? Who is this, and how does this person pronounce the state?

chuxter
10-02-2007, 11:36 AM
Vermont,Roland, Vermong

Wuducynn
10-02-2007, 11:37 AM
That was the hint, but Cullum was not the person who mispronounced it.

chuxter
10-02-2007, 11:52 AM
I updated my earlier post

Vermont, Roland, Vermong

Letti

CK... I must say it was a damn good question.

chuxter... you rock... *bows*

chuxter
10-02-2007, 12:45 PM
OK, I'm not sure if this falls within the rules of this area of trivia. It does come out of the DT books, but, you can't find the answer within the books anywhere. If this doesn't work for you guys I'll cry pardon and come up with another. I just like the challenge of a toughie once in a while. I will give this one clue. Once, a long time ago on TDT.net I addressed this in the forums and gave the answer then.

We've all seen this symbol
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b100/chuxter/NFOND.jpg
And can probably find exactly what it means. Now, can you tell me what font it's written in? If you have Photoshop you should be able to find it in there.

Good luck

8,000 bonus points to whoever can spell out exactly what it says.

Letti
10-02-2007, 12:50 PM
Can I find out the answer with Gimp, too?

chuxter
10-02-2007, 01:01 PM
Can I find out the answer with Gimp, too?

Maybe. If you have a lot of fonts loaded you probably can. I'm assuming Gimp is software and not a guy dressed in rubber locked in your basement.:ninja:

Daghain
10-02-2007, 01:39 PM
Looks like Hoefler Text to me.

Wuducynn
10-02-2007, 03:28 PM
Is that 8,000 extra special bonus points or just bonus points?

ZoNeSeeK
10-02-2007, 05:59 PM
fuck, its a non standard symbol font?

MonteGss
10-03-2007, 06:03 AM
I have no idea what font.

Yar, 'tis close enough ya trig cully. 'tis Hoefler Ornaments in all caps.

Now, what's it say?

You get the feather either way. Nice job. I thought this'd be harder than that.

Daghain
10-03-2007, 11:24 AM
I have no freaking clue what it says. I worked as a typesetter for a couple years, so I knew where to look. :D

MonteGss
10-03-2007, 12:06 PM
Why don't you post a new question Daggers? I'm sure the chuxter-man will tell us what it says when he comes back. :) He's passed you the feather!

Daghain
10-03-2007, 12:07 PM
I know, I was looking for a question.

Who read The Door Into Summer?

MonteGss
10-03-2007, 12:09 PM
Didn't Jake remembering reading that?

Daghain
10-03-2007, 12:17 PM
Very good! Feather is yours. :D

MonteGss
10-03-2007, 12:18 PM
I wonder if that is a good book. Hmmm, maybe I'll check it out on B&N.com.
I'll be back in a while with a question. :)

MonteGss
10-03-2007, 12:57 PM
Here's mine:

Where does fault always lie?

Daghain
10-03-2007, 01:13 PM
Good one!

Fault always lies with the one weak enough to lay blame. :D

MonteGss
10-03-2007, 01:21 PM
Yep!

Daghain
10-03-2007, 01:24 PM
Cool! :D

What did Roland believe was one of the few foolish statements Cort ever made?

MonteGss
10-03-2007, 01:35 PM
He thought what he said about the hawk was foolish. Though it isn't really clear which part. Cort said that the hawk would never fear Roland and that the hawk was God's gunslinger.

Daghain
10-03-2007, 01:57 PM
Yep, that the hawk was God's gunslinger.

You're up! :D

MonteGss
10-03-2007, 02:02 PM
How did Ted Brautigan let Bobby Garfield know that he had escaped the Low Men again and was safe?

There are many, many types of petals.

Darkthoughts
10-04-2007, 03:27 AM
Oh shite! I don't have a copy of hearts, that was from memory...flower petals, don't remember what sort though :(

Daghain
10-04-2007, 01:01 PM
Cool. :D

MonteGss
10-04-2007, 03:10 PM
Storyslinger or Darkthoughts should pose a question next. Whoever comes back first. :)

Darkthoughts
10-05-2007, 01:26 AM
Ta da!!

There is a certain feather that appears in WotC and Black House...what kind of feather is it?

MonteGss
10-05-2007, 03:28 AM
 Me likes that question. :)

Darkthoughts
10-05-2007, 05:13 AM
I'm trying to be more obscure :D

Wuducynn
10-05-2007, 05:20 AM
The Opoponax feather.

Darkthoughts
10-05-2007, 05:24 AM
Indeed, now you take that feather and go wild! :D

Wuducynn
10-05-2007, 05:37 AM
I'm always wild. I'll have to post a new question later on.

Wuducynn
10-05-2007, 12:14 PM
Who are the "Three Old Farts of The Apocalypse"?

Daghain
10-05-2007, 12:24 PM
Aaron Deepneau, Moses Carter, and John Cullum.

Wuducynn
10-05-2007, 12:31 PM
Yep, the Opoponax feather is yours.

Daghain
10-05-2007, 01:24 PM

Darkthoughts
10-05-2007, 02:14 PM

Daghain

Wuducynn

I think Lisa lost her feather going todash...

Darkthoughts
10-07-2007, 10:48 AM

So then: Who wears "huge, Caliph like slippers"?

Wuducynn
10-07-2007, 10:50 AM
I would call drinking all weekend a form of going todash yes. Especially if most of the drinking involved any liquid that has 80 + proof alcohol in it..

Darkthoughts
10-07-2007, 10:54 AM
I wasn't that hardcore, I just stuck to lager ;) The only alcohol I've had that strong was Jamaican rum and it was rough as a badgers arse!

MonteGss
10-10-2007, 12:47 PM

Wuducynn
10-10-2007, 04:09 PM
Thanks folks! But, Letti? How can a Dark Tower trivia question be way too good?

chuxter
10-12-2007, 05:37 AM
I know the 1st two answers and I think I know the last.

The first is Susan, 2nd is Cujo, 3rd is when Bryan Smith is talking to King after he was hit I think.

Wuducynn
10-12-2007, 05:50 AM

Good job Chuxter! I was looking for Smith telling King that he loved Cujo and thats what reminded Roland of what Susan would call him. But thats close enough ;)

chuxter
10-12-2007, 07:12 AM
At least how old is Walter O'Dim? I'm looking for a specific number that is mentioned in one of the books.

Wuducynn
10-12-2007, 07:17 AM
Over a thousand.

chuxter
10-12-2007, 07:20 AM
That is mentioned in the books so I should give it to you. I'm looking for another number which more specifically mentions that he is "at least XXXXXX year old"

Wuducynn
10-12-2007, 07:55 AM
Yeah, now that you mention it I remember that. This whole thing about him being a " at least a thousand years" old surprised me. It would seem that he would be A LOT older than that if he was around when the Great Old Ones built the ARC. It seems that the Great Old Ones were around 10's of thousands of years ago in Mid-World. Anyway, when I get home I'll look up that year that you mentioned.

Wuducynn
10-12-2007, 01:48 PM
1500?

chuxter

1500?

Sorry, I've been away.

[Ed McMahon] "You are correct, sir!" [/Ed McMahon]

At least 1500 years old. This is said during his, uh, encounter with Mordred.

Letti
10-15-2007, 08:41 AM

I have seen that movie. :D

Your turn, sai. :rose:

I've said before that you do.

MonteGss
10-15-2007, 07:30 PM

Daaaaaaaaaaggers!!!!! Question please!!!!!

Both.

Daghain
10-15-2007, 07:31 PM
CK...you're so good to me.

What was the significance of the Baby Forest?

Wuducynn
10-15-2007, 08:14 PM
I was not lying either..good question but I'm going to let others have a crack at it.

Daghain
10-15-2007, 08:15 PM
Awww, shucks. :D

ZoNeSeeK
10-16-2007, 07:04 PM
hrm.. does it have something to do with apprentices before taking their test of manhood?

Daghain
10-17-2007, 10:22 AM
You're on the right track, but no. :D

Wuducynn
10-17-2007, 11:22 AM
Does it have something to do with all the apprentices enjoying Roland's turgid manhood?

Daghain
10-17-2007, 11:35 AM
Ummm...no.:shoot:

Wuducynn
10-17-2007, 05:22 PM
Your little pea shooters can't hurt me.

Daghain
10-17-2007, 06:15 PM
They can if I shoot you in the right place.

Wuducynn
10-17-2007, 06:16 PM
Pff! Bullets don't hurt me..

Daghain
10-17-2007, 06:18 PM
Oh I forgot...just spoons.

Wuducynn
10-17-2007, 06:22 PM
Sharpened spoons are fun to swallow.

Daghain
10-17-2007, 06:34 PM

Going to take a crack at the question? No one else seems interested.

Wuducynn
10-17-2007, 06:36 PM
Yeah, I will. Brb with an answer.

Daghain
10-17-2007, 06:41 PM
You had to look it up? I'm disappointed.

Wuducynn
10-17-2007, 07:16 PM
:( I remember it but not the significance...sorry to have disappointed you.

Wuducynn
10-17-2007, 07:20 PM
The Baby Forest is where Roland learned to keep an exact minute (or hour and so on) in his head. Cort believed that neither clocks nor sundials could be depended on all the time so as part of their manhood training the apprentices were sent into the forest and had to return at the exact right time or they would be sent back.

Daghain
10-17-2007, 07:21 PM
Ding ding ding ding! We have a winner!

Feather is yours, CK. :D
