sinstar
08-29-2008, 06:47 PM

dori
08-29-2008, 09:14 PM

BedOfRoses
08-31-2008, 08:35 AM

BedOfRoses
08-31-2008, 01:49 PM

BedOfRoses
08-31-2008, 03:01 PM
Yes, the feather is yours!

razz
08-31-2008, 03:03 PM
well two options
1. someone takes the feather now

The Lady of Shadows
08-31-2008, 09:00 PM
okay, i'm grabbing the feather. i'll be around tomorrow afternoon so if someone posts the correct answer before then i hereby grant brice or feev the power to pass the feather on (no reason just cause i picked their names out of a hat). :P

in The Stand: The Complete & Uncut Edition what book was Gus Dinsmore reading while he was dying and who was the author of the book?

sarah
09-01-2008, 03:32 PM
great question. I had to really hunt for it.

Rimfire Christmas By A Woman who lived up north in Haven

The Lady of Shadows
09-01-2008, 03:45 PM
half correct. and that woman is (come on, you know this!). :)

sarah
09-01-2008, 07:11 PM
*shrug* I read the page but didn't see a name. If someone else wants to try...

Seppe-sai
09-01-2008, 07:25 PM
She's not named in The Stand but there is an entire book about her and Haven, if that helps.

The Lady of Shadows
09-02-2008, 03:01 PM
aye seppe-sai you say true. :)

come one maer - you KNOW this. i know you do! :)

sarah
09-03-2008, 07:18 AM
well, I had to look it up. I've never read the tommyknockers but the full answer is:

Rimfire Christmas, Bobbi Anderson of The Tommyknockers.

Still, since I googled it, someone else should take the feather.

The Lady of Shadows
09-03-2008, 11:34 AM
no, you get the feather. but google? really? i'm sooooo disappointed. it's in the freaking tower connections article. :P

sarah
09-03-2008, 03:00 PM

anyways...

what was the first riddle Roland gave Blaine?

Seppe-sai
09-03-2008, 03:51 PM
Not sure of the exact wording (or even if I'm anywhere close to right) but "What has 4 legs in the morning, 2 legs in the afternoon, and 3 legs at night?"

razz
09-03-2008, 03:51 PM
when is a door not a door?

sarah
09-03-2008, 04:41 PM
Not sure of the exact wording (or even if I'm anywhere close to right) but "What has 4 legs in the morning, 2 legs in the afternoon, and 3 legs at night?"

no sorry, seppe-sai

when is a door not a door?

sorry to you too razz, that is also incorrect.

The Lady of Shadows
09-03-2008, 05:05 PM
"what's better than all the gods and worse than old man splitfoot? dead people eat it always; live people who eat it die slowly."

dori
09-03-2008, 06:50 PM
what is the difference between a grandmother and a granary?

sarah
09-04-2008, 06:34 AM
you say true, turtlesong. The feather is yours.

The Lady of Shadows
09-04-2008, 08:40 AM
::bows to maerlyn::

let's stay with the riddle theme shall we?

"you have to prime my pump and my pump primes backwards"

1. who exactly figured this riddle out?
2. how precisely was it solved?
3. how did the tet get to blaine after it was solved?

fyi - i'm looking for the details here my cullys.

dori
09-04-2008, 12:01 PM
1) mainly detta but susannah took over the reins at the end when detta faded away, but it was detta who remembered.
2)susannah realises that somewhere deep in her mind she knows the answer and gets roland to hypmotize her so she can remember. It was her father that told her there was a way of working out prime numbers by casting a net or something over them, odetta never understood this but detta did. She figures out the prime numbers and colours all the others with charcoal, susannah is about o press the numbers in order when jake remembers that you have to prime the pump backwards so she presses the prime numbers from largest to smallest.
3) The tet ran to blaine through the gate 3 people running 1 bumbler and 1 person on another's hip, and they accidently left susannah's wheelchair behind.

The Lady of Shadows
09-04-2008, 12:44 PM
nicely done dori. and you get the feather.

::hands feather over with a bow::

dori
09-04-2008, 11:07 PM

The Lady of Shadows
09-05-2008, 12:45 PM
pere callahan about black thirteen when he and jake realize it's in mia/susannah's hotel room

dori
09-05-2008, 10:58 PM

The Lady of Shadows
09-05-2008, 11:32 PM

The Lady of Shadows
09-06-2008, 02:22 PM
ETA means edited to add. and thanks for going again, somehow i knew you wouldn't mind.

The Lady of Shadows
09-07-2008, 01:24 PM
three part question:

what is the name of the store where roland (in mort) purchases more rounds for his guns?

what type of rounds does he purchase?

what are the names of the officers involved in this fiasco?

sarah
09-07-2008, 02:10 PM
Clements Guns and Sporting Goods

Winchester .45 pistol shell

Carl Delevan and George O'Mearah

The Lady of Shadows
09-07-2008, 02:23 PM

What was Jack Mort's hobby?

The Lady of Shadows
09-07-2008, 03:17 PM
did he have one other than pushing people?

sarah
09-07-2008, 04:07 PM
no. Jack Mort's hobby was pushing. The feather is yours

The Lady of Shadows
09-08-2008, 09:00 PM
what was the name of the store keeper of clement's guns and sporting goods when roland (in mort) entered it?

what made clement's guns and sporting goods special enough that officers o'mearah & delevan almost had collective apoplexy when roland accused the store keeper of robbing him.

dori
09-09-2008, 12:37 AM
fat johnny holden was the clerk and the cops were desparate to get some dirt and the store because justin clements owned it, and the cops had been after him for ages. Delevan and O'Mearah thought if they could bust him they might be able to become detectives.

The Lady of Shadows
09-09-2008, 09:20 AM
and the importance of justin clements owning the store was. . . .

dori
09-09-2008, 10:49 AM
because clements was connected to balazar and another mob boss type called ginelli, and if the fuzz could get clements they could lean on him to get to the other big gangsters.

The Lady of Shadows
09-09-2008, 10:56 AM
you get the feather. :fairy:

Cal Tower is waiting for someone to come pick up a book; who is it?

MonteGss
09-18-2008, 07:11 PM
Cal Tower is waiting for someone to come pick up a book; who is it?

I believe you are referring to when Eddie first rescued Cal from the "gentleman."

Cal is waiting for a Mr. Brice to come look at/pick up a book.
Do I speak true?

Brice
09-18-2008, 07:17 PM
You speak true. I say thank you.

...and yes, that is exactly when. I'm sure you can see why I chose this question. :D

You should give a tough one, Monte. It's been awhile.

MonteGss
09-18-2008, 07:19 PM
*cracks knuckles*
You're right, it has been a while. I'll see what I can come up with. :D

Brice

MonteGss
09-18-2008, 08:01 PM
Ok, not my best, but it will have to do because I am tired.

What are carvers? What are they a type of?

Happy Trivia!

Brice
09-18-2008, 08:03 PM
:orely: I should know this, but I can't think. :(

Daghain
09-18-2008, 09:42 PM
Monte! Monte is back! Mi amor! How are you?

Nope, I have no answer. I will have to go look.

dori
09-19-2008, 12:37 PM
type three vampires?

The Lady of Shadows
09-19-2008, 08:03 PM
carvers are five shot revolvers; hence they are a type of gun.

is that a good enough answer mr. trivia? :)

MonteGss
09-19-2008, 10:19 PM
Yes, it is. The feather is yours! :)

The Lady of Shadows
09-19-2008, 11:10 PM
would you like it back? i'm afraid i'm not much in a trivia mood right here and now. thanks. :rose:

Adumbros
09-20-2008, 09:07 AM
Carvers were also the people who ran the Tet Corporation in TDT VII, and they were a type of generational guardian

MonteGss
09-20-2008, 11:12 AM

Carvers were also the people who ran the Tet Corporation in TDT VII, and they were a type of generational guardian
Cool! Why don't you take the feather, my friend?

Adumbros
09-20-2008, 11:16 AM
:D

In Wolves of the Calla, who made a solemn vow that he did not dare uphold; what was the vow, and to whom was it made?

Daghain
09-20-2008, 01:13 PM
Ooh, that's a good one!

Is it the vow Roland made to Jake not to let him "drop" again?

MonteGss
09-21-2008, 12:13 PM
:D

In Wolves of the Calla, who made a solemn vow that he did not dare uphold; what was the vow, and to whom was it made?

Roland vowed to Callahan that he would not bring up the idea of abortion to Susannah. He didn't dare break it because Callahan threatened to raise the town against them.

(though I personally don't believe Roland gave two shits about that..)

Is this the solemn vow you speak of? Do I say true?

Daghain
09-21-2008, 04:04 PM
Oh, I think you got that one, oh trivia master. :)

Daghain
09-25-2008, 05:15 PM
*bump*

Adumbros, wherefore art thou, Adumbros? Is Sai Monte correct?

Brice
09-25-2008, 05:20 PM
1. I think Monte is right.

2. I don't think Adumbros will be around for awhile

Monte should go ahead.

Daghain
09-25-2008, 08:35 PM

i can't be the only person thinking, come on and hurry up with the queation posting! We are all waiting so do your duty now boys and girls,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,yawn

It is considered polite behavior to wait until an answer has been confirmed by the questioner before posting a new one. Please read the first post of this thread.

However, since you are extremely impatient and since I've received a PM from Brice concerning Adumbros, I will post another question. Be back as quick as I can....try not to yawn.

Wuducynn
09-26-2008, 08:43 AM
You're such a fucking peach, Monte. It sounds like you need your little skinny-bitch ass kicked from here to next Wednesday for you.

MonteGss
09-26-2008, 09:00 AM
You're such a fucking peach, Monte. It sounds like you need your little skinny-bitch ass kicked from here to next Wednesday for you.

 Bring it!

Ok, next question:

What should you do before crossing open water? Or, better yet, what does Roland do before crossing open water?

Happy Trivia!

Wuducynn
09-26-2008, 09:00 AM
Urinate?

MonteGss
09-26-2008, 09:04 AM

Daghain

Pete Wexler is the father of Ebbie Wexler. Pete worked as cleaner for the Maxton Elder Care Facility. Pete's passtime was torturing the residents.

woohoo!

how did ki devore mistranslate mike noonan's football advice?

I'm not sure this question pertains to any Dark Tower connector books.
Just my opinion...what does everyone else think?

Daghain
10-03-2008, 01:31 PM
I don't believe that's a connector book, either. T/S, can you tell us how this is a connector book, or give us a new question, please?

The Lady of Shadows
10-03-2008, 02:29 PM
that question is from Bag of Bones. according to sai king, and our own site, Tower Connections (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=749), Bag of Bones is a Dark Tower connector book. the answer was "don't taggle yer own quartermack!"
cry your pardon if it you didn't think it was a fair question. :couple:

so what exactly does constitute a connector book if our list is wrong?

oh, and while i find a new line someone else can go. :)

Daghain
10-03-2008, 03:05 PM
I stand corrected. No need to get bent out of shape, TS, I was just asking for a clarification. Nothing personal. We can wait for you to ask another one. :)

The Lady of Shadows
10-03-2008, 03:31 PM
it's not you guys, it's me. seriously. i'm having one of those "everything makes me cry days" again. sometimes being sick just sucks. :(

someone else can go if they want to. . . .

Daghain
10-03-2008, 03:35 PM
Allrighty then. I'll leave the feather for someone else - I don't know how much I'll be around all weekend and I don't want to leave you all hanging.

okay ladies and gentleman, brice passed the feather to me. this is from a dt connector book.

Cuthbert Heath
10-12-2008, 05:10 PM

The Lady of Shadows
10-13-2008, 12:36 PM

razz
10-13-2008, 01:32 PM
Mad Hungarian is an umbrella corporation for a series of stress solving medications. fifteen years ago they completed a drug that cures stress related illnesses. since thsi was in high demand they put a high price on it, and the govt denied their patent. the company went under in 1997

The Lady of Shadows
10-13-2008, 01:40 PM
razz.

::shakes head::

The Lady of Shadows
10-20-2008, 09:19 PM
okay, i'm bumping this so it doesn't go on as long as some of the others have (it's already been almost two weeks). as you all know i'm easily bored, so i'll give it to the weekend then give the answer. and yes, it is from a dt connector book. :D

who is the mad hungarian. what happened to him to make him feel "special"? what specific thing did he do afterwards that was a mistake and what were the consequences of that action?

The Lady of Shadows
10-23-2008, 09:22 PM
bored now.

in black house the mad hungarian is Arnold Hrabowski. the fisherman called him and told him where to find the current victim's body; he called and told his wife who had a big mouth; arnold hrabowski was suspended for it.

Daghain
10-23-2008, 09:33 PM

Daghain
10-25-2008, 11:30 AM
Geez, I forgot that was my question up there. You got it! We will use your question, and I believe the answer is "as least I jack off with my left hand".

Dude, my memory is so bad the question could be: Brice, what is your name and I'd have to hunt the answer down.

Ok, not quite that bad, but yes, I had to track it down.

MonteGss
11-12-2008, 08:47 AM
Roland says in Book 3 that there used to be many around each barony back when...usuallly only good for "amusing children and keeping the rat population down."

If that isn't the answer, I don't know where we need to look.

ladysai
11-12-2008, 01:01 PM
The only other time a 'purpose' for billybumblers was mentioned was in the scene at the Dixie Pig, when Oy gets after the grandfather fleas, and Jake or Pere thinks that this may be what bumblers were made for.
That's the only other instance I can remember.

But in fact it looks like this:
"In this memory it is always ten past two an afternoon in October of 1946, the Big War is over, Irene Daye is on the radio, at the smell is always gingerbread."

Oh damn that's a good one. I have absolutely no idea!

Mianjo

I think I just read this today...it is in Song of Susannah? They're talking to Stephen King in his kitchen. He is hypnotized and speaks just like Eddie. "Dum-a-chum, did-a-chee, not to worry, you've got the key!"

I'm paraphrasing, but I could go get the book and check.

Letti
12-07-2008, 11:07 PM
Oh, I thought it would be very easy.
Mianjo: Not a bad guess, yes when Eddie and Roland hypnotized King he spoke just like Eddie but I am looking for a moment when the one could use someone's voice. So their voice wasn't just deadly similar but the same.
