I searched and searched, thought we had a thread for this. Feel free to merge if anyone knows where it is.

Comedy Central is saying we have all new episodes premiering tonight.

new if you didn't get the Bender's Big Score DVD, because that is what they are showing tonight. it's one feature length movie, and if you love Futurama and haven't seen it, watch it, tonight. Not new to all of us, but VERY funny, and very tied in to other Futurama episodes.

it is very exciting. the prospect of new futurama is one of my favorite things to consider. of all of my fav shows that have been cancelled, it was the hardest to deal with. to have it back, especially in straight-to-dvd movie form is so very cool.

that's why i love dvd. any episode i want, any time i want. i do miss having a random episode i love come on, but then again, i love every episode of futurama. they didn't do enough to start making bad ones. when you take some of the best writers [david cohen, ken keeler, bill odenkirk] and artists [rich moore!!] from the simpsons' staff and have them create a new show, you get brilliance like futurama.

futurama rules!!! [in case nobody could tell from my av/sig that i love the show].

My alltime favorite episodes are the one with the universal boxes (universe a and 2), and the one about Star Trek...

Daghain
03-24-2008, 01:34 PM
I used to put it on in the bedroom and fall asleep to it - I'd seen them so many times I could just listen to the dialog and see the whole thing in my head. :)

LadyHitchhiker
03-24-2008, 01:37 PM
I've watched them with closed-captioning so much and without that when I turn the sound down and watch the words I can hear their voices in my head...

both of those are great liz! the trek cast is so funny, especially walter koenig.

i also love the ones with the Nibblonians and the Brains. i lovethe one with Leela going to Planet Eternium, and ESPECIALLY the one with Fry going with Nibbler ["The Why of Fry" it's my favorite of them all]. also the ones with Dan Castellaneta as the Robot Devil and anything with the Harlem Globetrotters.

I can't remember the exact quote, but it went something like this:

Fry: Look it's Uranus!
Professor: Oh, they changed the name a long time ago because of all the jokes.
Fry: What did they change it to?
Professor: Urectum

**Priceless!!

They're all being released on DVD first. Which is awesome because watching Futurama on Comedy Central isn't the same as when it was on Adult Swim. Maybe it's the bumps I miss, but it's just weird.

Anyone know if "Benders big score" is available in Britain? On the simpsons movie, just before the movie when all the adverts (commercials) are playing it mentions it, but doesn't mention a date or anything...

The fourth Futurama DVD movie, Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder, was released this week. I watched it for the first time tonight. It was extremely funny. With no guarantees of further movies or new episodes, this very well could be the end of the line for our beloved Planet Express crew. That saddens me.

I enjoyed the last movie quite a bit...not as much as Bender's Big Score, but more than Beast With a Billion Backs and Bender's Game, definitely.

It was a good, open-ended type of ending, which makes me happy.(There's always a chance they can come back to it.)

I still think that I liked the series finale just a bit more, though. (The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings...the singing, story, and ending was just phenomenal.)

The movies(in order of awesomeness), IMO, goes:
Bender's Big Score
Into The Wild Green Yonder
Bender's Game
Beast With A Billion Backs

How did everyone else rate them??

LadyHitchhiker

3 Bender's Game

That's astounding...now I have to make a Wal-Mart trip to see if mine has them that cheap.

valtr0n
03-02-2009, 06:59 AM
I know, $15! $10 cheaper than the new movies sell for. Weird, eh?

They're listed on Walmart.com at $30+ each, but another friend of mine who lives a few states away said his had them for $15 each too. They're not on clearance, but I do think they're trying to get rid of existing stock. They took them out of the TV/Collections section and put them on an endcap. When they're gone, I'd say they're gone.

LadyHitchhiker
03-02-2009, 07:37 AM
Wow! I actually got season 3 of Futurama once for $12 at wal-mart because they mismarked it but it was already marked it so I got it for the cheap price!

Best show ever.

"When you have lift like this, you don't have to know anything."

and the ever classic,

"Bite my shiny metal ass."

While I do agree that Futurama is brilliant I am reticent to buy the features at full price. ($25-ish Can) Our version of Comedy Central has aired all of them within days of the dvd release date too. I'm thinking that would undermine the sales. This property is getting the shaft from several sides.

Ok people, get ready to be happy...

Bender's back, baby! New Futurama episodes are in our future

Have you grown tired of bad TV news? And by bad TV news, I mean bad news about television shows. Bad "TV news" is redundant.

Well, get ready for some good news. No wait, get ready for some great news. No, great doesn't really describe it. Here is some grantasticularly wondergasmiclicious news! (And my 12th grade English teacher said I'd never amount to anything as a writer.)

Comedy Central has ordered all brand new episodes of Futurama, and the show has officially gone back into production.

An insider told Collider.com that the network has given the series an order for 13 additional episodes to air now that the network has run through all of the series' original episodes and the four full-length DVD movies. This news has sparked rumors that production has officially started again on the series and casting is underway.

It's not just good news for Futurama fans, even though the fans are slipping into grinning comas and twitching with joy over the news. And who can blame them? It's one of the few comedy series that just seems to get better and better the longer its run gets. It's the bizarro According to Jim.

It's also good news to every show that has been cancelled before its time. Matt Groening, David X. Cohen and company have proved that no show can truly die just because a single-minded network doesn't have the patience to let it develop and expand. Their dedication to the show and its fans is truly astounding, and if new episodes do make it to Comedy Central's doorstep, disappointed fanboys across the universe will have one less thing in life to be disappointed about.

i, for one, will not watch two seconds of it.

'Futurama' voice actors cut fresh deal with Fox

Categories: News, Television
Five members of the original cast of the Fox animated series Futurama are returning for the series’ reboot, thanks to a deal just sealed with 20th Century Fox TV. Variety is reporting that Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, Billy West, and John DiMaggio will continue to provide their character voices for 26 new episodes of the animated Matt Groening sci-fi comedy, which will start airing on Comedy Central in 2010. Word of the deal comes less than a month after Fox put out a casting call for replacement actors. In a joint statement issued tonight, Groening and co-producer David X. Cohen said: “We are thrilled to have our incredible cast back. The call has already gone out to the animators to put the mouths back on the characters.”

I suppose you'll never see that "We want more money" attitude with Family Guy or South Park as the writers on those shows do most of the voices themselves.
