Hi everyone. We are very heartbroken to report that Jeanne’s (BedofRoses) mom, Gerry, died peacefully at home this morning after a year-long battle with cancer. She was 87. Many, if not all of you, were likely unaware that mom has been playing incognito (by choice) in the Dark Tower sports contests since 2009 (gersto here on the boards and windnwaves on the ESPN site). She never felt like revealing herself as Jeanne’s mom to all of you, but she has quietly enjoyed your company all these years. And yes, she has enjoyed beating many of you. :huglove: All of her life, she has been a sports fan and she has been a Stephen King fan for a long, long time, having read many of his works, including several journeys through the Dark Tower series. Mom has shared a household with us since 2014, so this last year has been difficult for us all.

Since 2009, mom has won 8 trophies, including 1st Place trophies in each of the three main contests (NFL, College Bowl, and March Madness) as well as a 1st place trophy for the 2022 NFL Post-season contest held by Garrell. A true hall of famer. She will be missed.

Bill and Jeanne

We would love to finally introduce you to gersto/windnwaves

I'm sorry for your loss.

This whole post really warmed my heart. To know that she was here and made meaningful relationships and didn't want to reveal who she was. I just found that so sweet. I wasn't familiar with her, but I wish I was.

She found joy in this site and the people here like we all have for well over a decade and that makes me happy.
