Not sure but because of ownership of character’s between different companies they can’t mention Hannibal at all.

Wow!! maybe I'm making too much of it, but that would seen to handicap the show severely going in, no? How much does it extend to her overall history? If you have it, can you post any articles or what not that further explain the situation? I'm really looking forward to this show. I hope they know what they're doing.

I believe CBS owns all the characters that were introduced in the novel The Silence of the Lambs. When Hannibal was on the air, NBC had access to the characters that were introduced in Red Dragon, which included Hannibal.
I'm probably wrong.

That makes sense.

Folks who enjoy this type of TV fare will also love this show from, HBO......

Well, its probably still a little early to make a call, but there's a couple things I suppose I'd like to get off my chest. First of all, the woman cast as, Clarice? I'm not buying her so far. I read the book and the film is a favorite and to the best of my recollection, Foster nailed it as, Clarice. This woman just doesn't fir the bill both in stature and personality. It may not be her fault, but the whole "PTSD" angle with, Buffalo Bill just doesn't fit (to me anyway) the role and seems to hamper this actors attempt to portray herself as, Clarice.

Starling, was a tough and intelligent agent and I just don't see her being so broken up about shooting, Bill to warrant all the PTSD flash backs. She fashioned herself after her father who was an honest and competent Sherriff. I can't seem to shake the thought of the woman in this show interviewing, Lecter and matching wits with him. Also, the writers can't seem to figure out who they want her to be. A tough, intelligent and competent agent or a female FBI agent grappling with her responsibility and past experience. One minute she seems to flash, Jodie Fosters' Clarice and the next she is a quivering woman out of her element. I keep coming back to imagining this woman going toe to toe with, Lecter and Buffalo Bill and just not seeing it.

On the other hand, I love the premise of the show so far and I am a sucker for Crime drama's and cop shows. So far the cases have been pretty fair scenario's. I guess, as I said earlier, it still a little too early to call it, but I can't seem to shake the fact that so far, Clarice was very mis-cast in this role. Time will tell I suppose.

I too intend to keep watching. Maybe she will change my opinions as the show progresses. She's not exactly "horrible" as the character, just a little "Off" to me so far, but we shall see. I was just sharing some initial thoughts and impressions after watching the latest episode. I'm not prepared to pass an overall judgement on the show as yet. The first two episodes were still rather entertaining and as I said, I LOVE them cop shows!!! LOL

i haven't watched the last one yet but so far i like it i mean it's a slow burn and it's a slow moving pace kind of show apparently but so far it's pretty good and i think it's got promise too. honestly i think she's pretty good on who's playing her i haven't seen all the movies or read the books however.
