During the second round of The Great Movie Tournament, please vote for up to four films you would like to move onto the next round. The top four films will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given film receives will determine its standing going forward.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

Yeah, one is a Sci-fi film, one is not. I will go to my grave saying that.

Awesome to see The Witch doing so well after it had to go through a tied tiebreaker in Round 1.

Gravity is great, but it's no Arrival.

That's a curious comparison... those are two very, very different films.

I guess I connect them in my mind because at the time that Gravity was released, it was touted as an amazing science fiction film because of its “technical accuracy”. I watched it, and then saw Arrival not much later, and so the question of which was the better science-fiction film was very much on my mind.

(Gravity is fun, incidentally, but I wouldn’t call it particularly technically accurate. Regardless of that aspect, I think Arrival is the stronger science-fiction film.)
