Members diligence in spotting spam posts is always appreciated and the mods are all emailed when someone alerts us to a new spammer or inappropriate post.

Could I please ask that members use the "Report as Spam" option rather than further clutter the threads with messages about the spam post? Once the spam is gone, the messages no longer make sense and it just makes things 'messy'

For those that are unaware, the option can be found here:

Thanks in advance!

Today I posted several times a reply saying SPAM so that people were noticing it was spam and ignoring them, especially not quoting it.
+ reported them

Yes, this is what I am trying to avoid. Even if you don't quote the original post, there are now lots of other off-topic posts that must be cleaned up or ignored.

If you use the "Report as Spam" option, it WILL be removed as soon as a mod can get to it. In most cases the offending member will also be banned. At the point of banning I (and some of the other mods) can search for all posts by that user and remove them at the same time. Multiple people all reporting the same post as spam is not an issue and in most cases will mean a Mod sees the problem more quickly. Using the RAS option is the quickest and cleanest option to remove these spam posts.

Really sorry! I didn’t realize there was a report spam option. I’ll be sure to do that instead going forward. I thought I was calling attention to it in a more entertaining way.

Thanks for the instruction.

Most of the time it's just automated bots.
I understand and will try to not bother mentionning "spam".
I always guessed that it would help mods SEEING a spam, while they may not see spam reports.

Maybe time to bump this, for newer members, anyway. Been a lot of spam the last few weeks.
