I believe he means as a "HF Charity" auction. Maitz gets a certain price for the print, but he did a unique "Remarque" and signed it as well. So the value will be determined by auction bids. It is a damn cool pic and "doodle"!!!! Did I get that right, Jerome?

Slight delay in posting auction. Sorry. I don't think (some of) the pics I took are optimal, and I need to measure the print itself. The print may be (likely is) different than the size listed for the original piece in the lower corner, and I don't want confusion. Do we not like brentkpg? Is he being confused with Brennan284 (or whatever the number is after the name) I have bought and sold a lot of books with him and I would certainly trust him. I think the sig is good, book is not good, and the price is way over the top, but if you look at his ebay store, most of his books are very over priced. If you contact him though he will normally work with and get to a more reasonable price.

Similar items for Parts 1 and 2 can be had for much less through Betts Bookstore. They are included in the remnants of Chris Cavalier's "Super Collection." I once saw these at John McLaughlin's Book Sail in California. I suppose they eventually got cleaned up but at the time they were dusty and dirty and in a box that was equally dusty and dirty. I know they are rare (possibly unique) but they just didn't hold much appeal for me. I still look at the listing at Betts website from time to time and wonder if I should just go ahead and buy them but, so far, I have not pulled the trigger. I definitely wouldn't pay what Bloody Rare is asking.

I recognize that username and do not recall any red flags or concerns about him/her. Pretty sure they are legit. The picture with the bookshelves is impressive, isn't it? Seems to have a paucity of decent first edition copies of 'SALEM'S LOT but, otherwise his collection looks pretty solid. I wonder if the photo is current? I think it might be an old one.

Don't listen to me cos I know nothing, but I want to take a stab as I'm trying to learn about his signatures.

This doesn't look right to me. Can't say what exactly, just it doesn't seem to have the same overall look as ones I know are legit.

Guess that would have helped...looks like a copy of Bachman books, Colorado kid signed by chadbourne (that's a real chadbourne sig since it was bought from bad moon books), and a few photographs of king.

Interesting how quick the turn around from Betts to eBay. I will say after looking at this cover I really wish IT 25th Anniv. was a raw cover for the lettered it would of had so much more pop in my opinion.

Really, if King donated 4 signed books to the library sale and this guy got two of them?? Sounds suspicious to me!!!!

What would be suspicious about someone either a) bidding high enough to win the 2 books or b) paying what ever the sale wanted for them? Now if this was a raffle it might be a bit more suspicious but I have been to raffles (for charity especially) where there was 1-2 people that just went over board with the ticket buying and won almost everything.

But if this were a silent auction - it all depends upon who else was there to bid and what they wanted to pay. I have been to my fair share of these and you can get great deals. One of the last ones had a lot of 7 bottles of wine (I live about 30 minutes outside of Napa - so every auction has wine, alas no Stephen King books). I opened the bid $100 - no one else bid the rest of the night - so I walked away with 7 bottles that retailed for $65 each (and actually worth that much - these were really nice reds - '05 cabs - great year for cabs and wine in general). So without being at the charity event we will never know. Although I did send the seller a question - so we will see what the response is.

I agree. The Jaunt was reprinted in the December, 1981 issue of Gallery. ($50 for that issue of Twilight Zone seems way too high, by the way.)

Veryfinebooks are trying to flog a Lettered FDNS they got from Betts for $1550. They are now asking $2500. Ha Ha. Good luck with that.

This particular book (M), has been sold twice by Betts. The first time for $1600, the second for $1550.

Yep...I do not know who his "core" customers are, but he buys a ton of stuff from me (a top 5 customer in volume) and then marks up 75%+ on most items. He tells me he sells them...I want THOSE customers too!
