I'm grateful for Brokeback making it into round 2 so it gets my single vote here even though I love several others in this group.

AHoV is an almost perfect thriller. Great acting, tight direction, escalating scenarios, mounting tension. Superb film by Cronenberg.

Taken was such a fun fast paced movie. Maybe me realize how awesome Liam is.

I always thought that Brokeback Mountain was one of those movies that everyone loved and I just didn't get. Like when it first came out everyone was saying it was this great movie that you just HAD to watch.

I thought it was OK but nothing special. Although I did vote for it.

Dumb question alert:

I rewound it a few times but could never tell: what the hell was the final line of Brokeback Mountain?

Brings up just what a great actor we lost with Ledger. The words literally have to fight their way out of his mouth in some scenes because he is so repressed.

Like the one youtuber comment said it was as close as he could ever bring himself to saying he loved him.

I saw that. Makes sense, felt very real (as did the whole movie).

Now that I think about it:

I only voted for 3 in this group, but not Brokeback Mountain. I'd like to add a vote for that if I can. Solid movie.

How I react when a fantastic film like Into The Wild is in last yet a middling action flick like Taken has more than twice as many votes.

 Well I actually didn't outright hate it although some reviewers are putting it on their worst movie ever list now. That's going a bit far because I've seen all of what MST3K and Rifftrax has to offer but mainly I am angry because Brokeback was a better film and deserved the win, imho. :) 2005 was a very contentious year. I know mae would have liked to see Munich win, I think.... I would have been happy with that winning over Crash too. Sorry Ricky!

I'm a Crash fan too, but yes I think Munich was by far the best film of that year.

My current Top 5 of 2005:

Munich
Caché
Brokeback Mountain
The New World
Everything is Illuminated

Everything is Illuminated is another one that I ran out of time for nominating.

Careful with that. Merlin once called me anti-semitic and essentially called me Hitler because I made a similar comment.

Then he has the balls to block me.

Wait, you're not Hitler? I only befriended you because I totally thought you were Hitler!
