With the exception of Freddy Got Fingered I could realistically have voted for every movie on here. Alas, I can only pick 6 of them. Damn.

I'm the only one to vote for Freddy Got Fingered! There's only one vote, not two. I don't see two votes! I'm the #1 Vote! I'm so proud. Proud. Proud. It makes me think of this classic scene!

Oh boy that means you have your homework assignment! There are seven great movies here, all worthy of watching.

I haven't seen a single movie in this group.

Gladiator and Walk the Line might be the most accessible, maybe start with one of those two.

I love The Royal Tenenbaums, definitely one of my favorite Wes Anderson movies.

Neither are subjects that really interest me. Don't care about Johnny Cash and never really been interested in any type of Gladiator movies.

Movies are often more than just what they're about, I believe. True, you always look for subjects or themes that speak to you, but watching something you might not initially be interested in opens you up to new things, or learning about things you didn't know interested you. I think that's cinema's biggest power and why I love international film so much.

I have only seen one, so I voted for that one (Gladiator), but otherwise I might not have voted for it (even though I own the DVD). I have lost respect for Russel Crowe

So true.

I have a friend that shocked me when he told me he had never seen Rocky. He said he hates sports movies. There's so much more to Rocky than just being a boxing movie. Such a basic way of looking at a film. Oh well.

You don't have to like Cash to like Walk the Line. However, have you ever given his music a chance? I don't listen to country but I have a CD with his greatest hits.

If I had not seen any of these movies, I would pick Ichi the killer to watch first. :cyclops:

True. As someone who doesn't like sports at all I like a surprising number of sports movies. That said I never really liked any of the Rocky movies as much as everyone else seems to, though that may just be because I don't care for Stallone very much.

How has your boyfriend not sat you down to watch Rocky? My mom had no choice. My dad took her to see it on their second date or something.
