Stardust is probably one people have been sleeping on. It's great!

Glad to see Mystic River on top. I rewatched it recently for the first time in forever. It's so goddamn good. Should've won best picture. Fucking Return of the King.

Weird, that with this many votes in the 1st round that no one has voted for Gangster #1. I would expect every movie to get at least 2 votes in the first round.

I think I'll watch The Prestige tonight. I've had long enough....

I didn't much care for The Prestige at all. Good director. Great cast. But it was just kind of meh for me. I've never understood why it's so universally praised. It wasn't a bad movie by any stretch, it was fine, but utterly forgettable for me. I didn't like Interstellar, but it left more of an impression on me than The Prestige.

I like Prestige. Not my favorite Nolan, but it's a fine enough yarn.

I love The Prestige. Besides being a great story, it was the film that introduced me to both Christopher Nolan and Christopher Priest (the author of the book). I really need to re-watch it. I probably haven't seen it since 2007.

I'm the same way Matt. I saw it and thought it was ok but nothing spectacular. Maybe I should try to watch it again.

I liked The Prestige, especially the fist 2/3rds, but had a problem with how it all came out. It would be like going to a Penn and Teller show and finding out at the end that there was no "trick" other than "no, we really can do magic." That's a cheat.

I like the end. It makes it all the more twisted. It's not my favorite Nolan movie, but it is my favorite of these 8, though to be fair of the 8 here I've only seen The Prestige, Donnie Darko, Collateral, and Elf.

This is the first one I'm going to have to sleep on. Gangster No. 1 is the only film I haven't seen. I enjoy all the others. I may have to be strategic here.

Also, Stardust is a surprisingly good film. Worth the watch for DeNiro's part alone.

I could be wrong but I think this might be our first nominee to not get any votes in these tournaments...

What an unfortunate honor

Yeah, you would think that the nominator and seconder (that doesn't feel like a real word) would have voted on it at the very least.

Has anyone else not voted for a film they nominated/seconded in the first round?

I can't personally think of any polls offhand, but I suppose it would be possible if there are more than six picks that you had a hand in in a single poll?

Yeah, you would think that the nominator and seconder (that doesn't feel like a real word) would have voted on it at the very least.

I would like to hear from these people, not that they were obligated to vote for this, but just to satisfy my curiosity.

I seconded Gangster No. 1 and would have definitely voted for it in this poll, but unfortunately I have been away on business and missed the opportunity to do so...
