Well Gosford Park doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell, shame it's sooooooo great!.

I've seen Slumdog Millionaire twice and really loved it the first time but the second time, my enjoyment dwindled quite a bit. Not sure of the staying power for this one especially since Who wants to be a Millionaire is officially cancelled now. Although, I'm not sure about in other parts of the world, if it still airs or not.

Still pisses me off that Slumdog won the Oscar when TDK was the best film that year and wasn't even nominated. One of the best of that decade, in fact.

Unsurprisingly, The Mist is second only to The Dark Knight. Cue Still Servant in three... two...

My only vote goes to Gosford Park which I'm worried won't even make it on :( It's such a great movie too.

I was just going to ask how on earth is The Mist in second place  Are there other King adaptations that were nominated.

...One!

The Mist is clearly a front runner. I really enjoyed that one, especially the ending. I remember sitting in the theater just shocked. That said, there are tons of better films in the decade.

Yup, 1408 is the other one.

Oh god. Is Mist going to be the Shawshank of this tournament? Please say it ain't so!

It's not :( But at least we know how great it is! :) Maggie Smith is hysterical in it.

Yes we do :D And I'm just going to assume most here haven't seen it because it's such a gem of a film.

I don't think so. It will probably be in the 20-30 slot.

Even though I nominated it, think it only has a 50% chance of making it to the round of 32, and only a 5% chance beyond that.

I’m pretty surprised at how well Taken is doing.

Honestly I think the first Taken is pretty good. It's the sequels where it really dropped the ball. I'm surprised The Bourne Identity isn't doing better though. Then again while the first one of those is good, I think the second one is just all around better.

Yeah I am surprised Supremacy wasn't nominated.

I thought about it, but I nominated Bourne Identity, and thought others would pick up the other movies. All 3 LOTR movies were in before I even knew the nomination process started so I thought people wouldn't be shy about nominating more from a series. In general I nominated several movies from series, but limited myself to only 1 each with the hope others would nominate others (I nominated a movie in the following series, not all seconded: Bourne, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Shrek, Ice Age, Resident Evil, Underworld). Was really surprised only one Bourne and Harry Potter movies were nominated. Not surprised by the others though. With the exception of Harry Potter, I went with the first movie in the series, as that is usually the best.

Just seeing the title The Dark Knight makes me want to watch it again. Exceptional film.

I hope you have a damn good reason for not voting for The Dark Knight.

Like you suffered some amnesia freak accident and forgot you watched it.

Right? Right?

 I knew it didn't need my help. I might vote for it in later rounds.
