I could care less about this pairing. Great genre faire, but best movies of 1990s? You gotta be kidding me.

Curious; which films do you feel belong here?

I came in here prepared to vote for 12 Monkeys because I thought it was the only film that had a chance to take down Shawshank. I thought T2 had more detractors. Now I'm not sure what to do.

These are all good-great films, 2 of these are in my personal top 10.

However, I feel confident making a case that T2 deserves to be here just as much as any of these.

I agree. SOME great films there. Silence would be my top contender against T2.

By all means, make the case, as I don't even see T2 being the best science fiction film of the 1990s - I'll go with The Matrix on that one.

I was going to, but honestly I've been doing it throughout this entire tournament. I'm too lazy to retype everything :)

If you look back at the knock out stages of this group though I've been singing its praises extensively.

A T2 vs Matrix semi would definitely have been interesting though.

You're our last hope, T2. Let's do this!

What a landslide! This proves that the result of the Sci-Fi Tournament was just an anomaly... a glitch in the space-time continuum that has now been thankfully, corrected.

Well, that vote was five years ago and some of the members who voted then probably aren't around anymore. I wouldn't call two-thirds a landline exactly, 36% is still an okay number.

Would have been closer but only 9 of the 12 monkeys voted properly:mad:

I didn't vote in this one and I put in the last second winning vote for Twelve Monkeys in the SciFi tournament. To be honest, I had a hard time picking last time and went the way I did because I thought T2 fit better under "action" than "scifi." With no genre qualification, I just decided it was too close in my mind.

I don't know how T2 could be any more sci fi tho? Time travel. Cyborgs. AI piloted aircraft. Laser guns. Liquid metal.

If anything it's more Sci-Fi than 12 Monkeys.
