During the eighth round of The Great Movie Tournament, please vote for one film you would like to move onto the final. The top film will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given film receives will determine its standing going forward.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

My initial thought was to immediately click Shawshank but I'm gonna have to think on this one a bit.

I said that weeks ago. An anticlimactic end to an otherwise fantastic tournament. At least it's not Green Mile.

This should have been the final. Actually, how did these two meet here? I thought the number one after the last round would meet number four. Isn't this one versus three?

It is, it's top two against bottom two (1-3, 2-4). All positions are seeded from best to worst across each bracket, not zigzagging but going horizontally from first bracket to last. For example, if there are 24 brackets and 72 entries, then entries ranked 1-24 make up the first place in each bracket, 25-48 make up the second place, and 49-72 make up the third place. Nice and easy.

I am just use to sports brackets, I guess. You know, if there are 16 teams then one plays 16, 2 plays 15, etc. I also thought you were reseeding after each round based on the total percentage vote they each had so that the strongest always took on the weakest. No big deal.

Yes, all were ranked 1 through whatever each round based on the total vote percentage and then seeded as above. I think it's a fairer system.
