During the second round of The Great Movie Tournament, please vote for up to four films you would like to move onto the next round. The top four films will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given film receives will determine its standing going forward.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

Eh. It's kinda skewed to be honest. SPR is a crowd pleasing WWII action bonanza and TTRL is a reflective rumination on the savage nature of man and his internal chaos. SPR shows brave, bravado soldiers running directly into gunfire and THHR shows fighting for instinctual survival, not for patriotic pride or each other. Just a primal urge to survive. People don't want to be engaged critically when watching war films, they just want to see soldiers being blown to shit.

Not surprised SPR is leading, it's just more general-audience friendly. I love both though.

Agreed. Regardless of all that, Saving Private Ryan is just a better made film by a superior director. Malick's films are not easy watches.
