I've only been a member for a short time, but am amazed by all of your collections, and especially by your responsiveness to questions/comments made by folks on the forum. This is a pretty great resource, and I'm happy to be a part of the circle, so to speak. I thought I'd share my modest SK holdings with y'all. I am more of an accumulator than a collector; I have a few thousand other books, and I tend to wander here and there when making purchases. In other words, this collection is by no means complete, but it is where I started my journey several years ago. Reading SK always feels like home to me.

Early Doubleday editions. Real peach here is Night Shift. The others are a bit rough. And...sadly there is a BIG hole to fill. Help, anyone?? :D

A few others. Very nice first UK of IT. I LOVE The Shape Under the Sheet - what a great production, and contains a nice crossover signature of one of my other collected authors, Joe R. Lansdale.

11/22/63, signed by King at the Dallas event, sitting next to a fairly nice copy of The Bachman Books. You may ask: "Why in this order?" Well...I tend to shift books around a lot to make room for, you guessed it, more books. So the fewer books I have to move, the better. Things tend to get out of order that way. Can some of you relate??

Signed Insomnia print. Yet to be framed: Rock Bottom Remainders signed lithograph. The caricatures are kinda cool, but I mostly just like this group of signatures all together.

Wow! That sounds like a nice piece. Did you get either of them to sign it, or did you buy it that way? Pretty damn cool either way.

A few more items of interest. First, Bachman paperbacks. Missing...of course, Rage. The Long Walk, though a little worn, I did score at a pb swap store for a couple bucks.
King etc. is an interesting little freebie of excerpts from King books done by the Books etc. bookstore in London, 1998. In the Justin Brooks bibliography, A64. Contains (I believe?) a pre-pub excerpt from Bag of Bones.

A must-have DT piece. First appearance of "The Tale of Gray Dick." McSweeney's issue 10 was later printed as a paperback, but the original only went out to subscribers. Funny note, it is "Grey" in the table of contents, and "Gray" on the title page. "Gray" is the spelling throughout the story. Not terribly hard to find online, but oddly I've found 2 copies in thrift stores over the years.

Well, this one is quite special and came in the mail today. When I first started collecting books, and subsequently SK, my dear granny bought me one for my collection that just came out that year. She made sure it was a first printing. For that reason, and because I think it is an oft overlooked collection, it is one of my faves. And now, I have a fine signed first of Just After Sunset. Love the holographic cover. (Again, my apologies for the pictures. Need a new phone.) Also, thanks all for the comments! This forum is a lot of fun, and y'all are great people.

Thank you! Yes, I'm finding that to be truth. Although I love eliciting pats-on-the-back from all you pro SK collectors, I might try to wait until I have a FEW new pieces to post. Instead of everytime I buy something...so as to not be too obnoxious. :)

Hey all! Odd that it's been a year since I've posted anything in my collection thread. I'm still around, drooling over all the new acquisitions members here are able to obtain, fuming over the NRB drama, wallowing in the bliss of the Suntup Misery release. But mostly, still collecting. Slowly.
While SAVING for the next production from Paul, I managed to SPEND a chunk on this novel from Mr. King I only read recently, and quite enjoyed. Ghost stories always seem to stick with me for some reason.
Anyway, saving for books is hard when there are...well...so many books to buy at any given time. I know you all can commiserate.
Pretty proud of this one because of the condition, but also the signature. Getting better at identifying legit sigs, and though I can always come here for help as I have in the past, I was confident in this one.

Great looking book and looks like a really nice signature.
Thank you kindly! I'm a bit more confident identifying these recent signatures (last decade or so) just because they are sloppy and often, it seems, the 'King' is shortened.

I appreciate it! I don't know if I get more of the book collecting bug in the fall or what (hence the year off from posting in my collection), but I'd like to keep it going this time. Have enjoyed browsing your collection threads as well. I really liked the response/items you received from Peter Cawdron. Not familiar with his work, but has to be a big thrill getting to correspond with one of your favorite authors.

Thanks so much! It's small, but a work in progress. I guess my next goal would be to complete the signed Dark Tower trade edition set.
Have enjoyed looking through your collection as well. Especially like the signed Buick 8 proof. The S/L IT is amazing too, of course.

Thanks. I started of small as well and then, well, we all known what happens after that. I don't know how much older stuff I can get.
We shall see. But keep it up. Keep on working and your collection will grow.

Ooh! Yes he does...
Funny thing - I actually traded this Contraband 2 to a member a while back, so I guess I need to clean up my collection page. Kinda trying to shift my focus a bit towards signed books. I had this issue for a while, but recently came to the realization that there are other books I'd like to own before collecting more of the early stuff. And when money is tight, trading is a fun way to go. Really nice to have the DT forum to help with this shift, both in motivation to have a focused collection, but also for people willing to help me achieve it. Does that ramble make any sense?? Ha!
