During the second round of The Best Movie Scene Tournament, please vote for up to four movie scenes you would like to move onto the next round. The top four movie scenes will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given movie scene receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do watch each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a movie scene well, it's still worth watching for a refresher.

Please remember that his tournament is for Best Scene, not Best Movie.
It's important to therefore judge each nomination on its individual merits and NOT by the entire movie.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are:

The Reveal - The Sixth Sense (1999) *** WARNING: MAJOR SPOILER ***

How is that nonsense from Revenge of the Sith getting any votes? And more than Contact?

Seriously? That is arguably THE most iconic light saber battle in the entire SW universe. And that last line from Obi-wan at the end is simply heart-breaking.

"You were my brother Anakin. I loved you."

They even made posters directly from that scene.

The crossed blue sabers against the red lava background is pretty awesome.

The poster is cool, but the SCENE itself is shit! :nope:

Bad acting, obsessive use of cheap CGI and ridiculous action choreography - the whole thing has the look and feel of watching a sub par video game.

This cannot be the most iconic lightsaber battle in the SW universe.... Surely that accolade goes to the "I am your father" duel between Luke and Vader in The Empire Strikes Back? :wtf:

Sure, if you are looking at the technical aspects of the movie. I'm talking more about the actual storyline. This is a man fighting against someone that he has essentially raised and trained ever since he was a child. He's dealing with the betrayal and doesn't really *want* to fight him, but as he says he will "do what I must".

The Luke vs Vader fight is only memorable because of the famous (and often mis-quoted) line after the fight was essentially over. The actual swordplay wasn't anything special and doesn't even show the power and skill of either one of them.

Obi-Wan and Anakin using their force powers to balance on rocks (and the head of a robot) in the middle of a lake of lava is pretty impressive IMO.

Give the Mad Max scene another 30 years and it might go farther.
