During the first round of The Best Movie Scene Tournament, please vote for up to six movie scenes you would like to move onto the next round. The top six movie scenes will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given movie scene receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do watch each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a movie scene well, it's still worth watching for a refresher.

Please remember that his tournament is for Best Scene, not Best Movie.
It's important to therefore judge each nomination on its individual merits and NOT by the entire movie.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are:

The Reveal - The Game (1997) *** WARNING: MAJOR SPOILER ***

Ouch, two Psycho scenes up against each other right off the bat.

I know, it sucks that they got grouped together. Honestly both should move on. They're leagues above many other scenes that got nominated. The Parlor Scene needs more votes. It's so beautifully shot.

I couldn't sleep last night so I watched Psycho yet again on TCM last night. I have no idea how many times I've seen it but it's close to 30 I'm sure. Besides the scenes that were nominated, I feel that at least three or four more scenes could have made the competition. Might just be the record holder for the largest number of great scenes for one film!

It's not that shocking of a fact but Psycho is safely in my personal Top 5 of all time. That parlor scene needs more love! I can watch it on a loop :panic:

The Parlor scene is amazing. I voted for both, but I'm surprised some people chose the other scene over that one. If I could have only chosen one the Parlor scene would have been my pick.

Is it possible to get one more vote for it before the poll closes so that it can move on... :)

I thought both those scenes would have made it much farther.

I'm surprised The Game got so much love. It's a personal favorite of mine, but I find that a lot of people in my life haven't even heard of it. Then again, the folks here are much more well versed when it comes to film than many people in my life.
