For this playoffs poll, please choose one track to move on to the Tournament Finals as the representative of this time period in music.

I like Tom Petty well enough, but this song is hardly his best.
On the other hand, Appetite for Destruction came out of nowhere to totally change the face of rock music. It's of a genre I don't normally like, but Guns N' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle (1987) has so much god-damn energy, it's hard to escape its tractor beam. Here it gets my vote.

Wow, three Guns 'N Roses songs in the Semifinals, and none moves on.
Amazing... when I think of Petty I think of tunes such as Last Dance With Mary Jane, Here Comes My Girl, You Got Lucky, Breakdown, Only The Losers, Learning to Fly, Runnin' Down a Dream, Good to Be King ect...I am surprised this tune represents.
Possibly the best Petty tune ; this haunting Dylan style number:
