This one's one of the toughest so far. Love "Runaway", it's one of my top early '60s songs, and that organ (or whatever solo) is amazing, but had to go with "Get Around", which is just a notch above, for me.

I hear you. This is a very tough call. I just barely tipped the other way than you. You know how much I love surf rock and the Beach Boys, but I had to go with Del Shannon - Runaway (1961) because it has such a unique sound--there's just something about that minor key. There's lots of surf rock and Beach Boys...but only one song that sounds like Runaway.
