Hi all. Last year I purchased a S/L Letters from Hell and I still have not got round to framing this beauty! Other than general laziness, the main reason is I can't decide on how to suitably frame it, what colour frame, modern or antique, whether to include a mount (or multiple layer mounts), etc...

So I'm looking for inspiration. If you possess a copy and you have had it framed, please post a picture here, I'd also appreciate thoughts and options.

Here are a couple of images I found online, the first black one is my favourite so far. (I think this belongs to FosterSuzanne!)

I quite like the fact this one has left the rough cut edge displayed.

Mine has a simple wooden frame with no border. I bought mine with the frame. I like the first one but my favourite frame is probably Jerome's.

IMO, the mat needs to have red in it to complement the red Title. I like the first and second. Makes we want to ditch my gold frame for an elegant black one.

The more I look at it, the more I like the second. I am hoping to see some more 'antique' style frames. Also I prefer the ones that show more of the outside 'white space' and don't crop so close to the text.

Edit: I agree the mat needs red in it!

Ditto on not having the mat too tight to the text.

I'm going to change my frame, but a red frame sticks out too much (IMO). I think I want a black frame but not antique looking. Perhaps some slight red gilding or subtle indication in the frame.

Perhaps too quirky, and not available in the correct size, but I love this frame/mat. It's done in calf skin and I would leave as much of the white edges of the print as possible:

Here is mine. The thing that makes it a little different is that we have it mounted on a piece of foam core so that it appears to float within the frame. We did this to allow the rough edges to show and not be hidden by matting. The last photo is an attempt to show the thin piece of foam core behind the print but I wasn't very successful.

That's a great idea mounting it on foam so you can see the rough edges. Looks great.

All of the frames suit it but I like the second the most - the black with the ornate, gothic design in the frame. Has a medieval, regal gravity to it. And yes, definitely the red matting.

Edit
Just saw yours Bob. Love that "floating" aspect, combined with the ornate frame = Win

Like both Foster's and Bob's the best with Bob's being my number one pick. The float effect is just too cool to pass up.

Educate the new kid here. So what exactly is this piece and when or what was it done for?

And finally, Kris, I'd be happy with a Scooby Snack if ya have any on hand :).

I'm liking the first, second, Jerome's (though not the gold frame) and Bob's.

I like the matte held back to show the broadside more. I like to see the deckled edge on the bottom. I like the red in the matte.

I really like Bob's but not with a Red Matte, too much Red for my tastes. I do however *Love* Bob's frame. I think (for me anyway) A combination of Bob's frame, with the lifting of the actual art (showing the deckled edge) and the Black Matte and subtle Red inner of (1).

Now just need to go see my local framer!

Man Bruce of all the times you decide to go with a smaller picture, it's the one time I was hoping for a large one so I could read the story. The only picture I have found was blurry and hurt to read.

Lol, so is mine which is just sad dammit. I think I finally know what to do though! I have a Hill broadside so I found some space to hang both of them so father and son can be beside each other in perfect harmony :)
I am liking the red frame idea.......

Picked this up while working in Columbus,OH last month the dealer did not nave advertised anywhere, they are on eBay and abe books, asked if he had any unique King stuff he had the broadsheet in protective plastic and boarded and a pike of dust on top. Micheal's framed it for a decent price.

Yes it was Acorn, I stopped at a couple store's in Columbus. One that stood out was on High st north of that school down south, used book store she had book's stacked on top of each in front of shelve's and little path's instead of aisle's. My wife and daughter both are U of M alumni.
