I didn't see an artist thread for Erin so I decided to start one. I know there are a lot of you out there with Erin Wells artwork and I encourage you to share them. She does amazing remarques and her color work is outstanding. I'm so glad she is really starting to work on her painting more. I think her painting is outstanding!

I dropped this painting off at the framer on Tuesday and received a call that it was ready today. I was initially quoted 10 days but it sounded like they really liked the painting and pushed it up.

I will be honest and say I'm a bit underwhelmed. I don't have any eye for interior design so my only request was a black frame (because I plan to hang it next to another black framed Pennywise drawing) Perhaps it will look better once it's on the wall or it will grow on me. The painting itself is amazing though and that is what really counts.

Looking forward to what other Erin Wells is out there in the hands of fellow collectors.

Awesome Aron! That is fantastic.
I contacted her back in March about a Remarque in my IT S/L and she said July should work so I touched base a couple of weeks ago and she replied several days ago saying that she could do it. I asked for pricing and options but haven't heard back yet. I know she's crazy busy but I hope she doesn't forget about me.

Thanks to Aron for starting this page, and to everyone for sharing their posts. Often, I don't know what happens to drawings after I sell them initially. I was informed at one time that the "Pennywise's Warning" illustration (old fridge with the pom-poms) was lost or destroyed...yet, here it is. Does anyone happen to have "Stan Uris Steps Out," the illustration with Stan's hand hanging over the edge of the tub, with "IT" written on the wall? Just curious! Best wishes, thanks again.

Greetings!

I've been a bit of a hermit lately (even more than usual, ha!), hanging out here in the woods working on a few projects. One of them has recently been announced. Check out SST Publications' Art Book Series--#1, featuring Daniele Serra's lovely dark art; #2, a great collection of Keith Minnion's masterful drawings and paintings; #3 is a larger book showcasing Tomislav Tikulin's remarkable illustrations; and #4 in the series, is from an excellent artist, Vincent Sammy...I haven't gotten a copy of #4 yet, but hope to soon. SST's #5 is a collection of my artwork--I'm honored that they would consider me for this series, and thrilled to announce that October Fields is now offered for pre-ordering: https://www.sstpublications.co.uk/October-Fields.php Many thanks to all the publishers who have trusted me to create art for their books, and thanks to Paul Fry at SST for working so hard on this art book series, and of course to all the collectors who have so kindly invested in my drawings and paintings.

Hello--

Some of you have asked about IT art. In the process of unpacking the last of the materials from moving my studio, I found four drawings from IT that I thought were lost. They had been filed with older works, and I missed them. I do know that "The Rock Fight," "Stan Uris Steps Out" (I was told by its buyer that one was ruined by flood/rain at his residence after he bought it), and "Henry Bowers Brandishes a Knife" were certainly destroyed...so those are gone. I will be listing the four I found, starting right away with "Bill & Silver." The other three will be listed separately/individually: "Paul Bunyan," "Pennywise in the Library," and "The Aladdin Sinks." As to any of the other illustrations, I have no idea where they ended up, except when I see them pop up on this site from time to time.

In a way I hesitate to list these drawings, as I don't really draw like this anymore...they're older works, done under some considerable time- and content-related constraints, and honestly I think they show some beginner-illustrator qualities...however, I wanted to let you know that they will be showing up on eBay. That's all I have.

Have a great weekend!
Thanks,

ESW

Well I'm pretty sad right now. I'm in the same boat. I just want one. :(

Bummer, I was hoping to have a shot at one as well.

I'm not sure anyone really had a shot except for the buyer who bought all four.

Yeah, it looks like they all sold within a few minutes of being listed so no real chance.

I'm puzzled.
Why post them at a BIN, seemingly knowing one person would buy them all (prior notice?). Should have saved us all time, do a private transaction, and make a lot more money.
Why give a huge cut to ebay and Paypal?

I love Erin Wells, but this stinks.

Given that the 4 pieces were her items to sell, not sure any of us have a right to be critical as to how she chose to do it....

OR... someone could have seen this thread... and kept refreshing their browser every minute or so until they popped up.. knowing they would come. I started doing that myself right away.... given how much people want an IT original this doesn't shock me. Kudos to the chap that had the time and thought to do so. I envy him and his new found gold:)

Webstar1000, thank you for your sensible comment.

I obviously underestimated the response these would generate. I figured the BIN was high, and thus not a "gimme" at all...if I had had a better sense of the market, I might have set it higher--people were watching this closely.

Best regards,
Erin

As much as a person may have wanted one or all of the items, it was mentioned at ~8:56 am that the items would go on sale "this evening". I perceive evening to be 6PM.
Kris, as "sensible" as that comment may seem, clicking refresh every 30 seconds for 7 hours isn't "enjoyable".

ESW did what she wished, and that was her prerogative. I had no interest in bidding, but there are other members here who did, and for them I feel a bit bad as they come here to the site and often we have advance notice of things. I guess in this case we had advance notice, but when the BIN bids comes in 30 seconds one after another, after posting, someone either refreshed very very quickly, or they had even more advance notice than people who were watching this thread.

Yeah.. I think most of the collectors here are not fools. We've been collecting for awhile and know the tips and tricks of the trade. Most people who have followed this probably have a good idea of what actually happened.

I'm all ears. Please enlighten me with you conspiracy theory? :orely:

I'm not upset that someone got all four of these.

You clearly are, otherwise you wouldn't be so bitter about the situation.

I would have loved to have had one but again they were not my items to sell so I don't have much of say in that.

So why comment? :deadhorse:

Ultimately I'm miffed that someone has presented a very flimsy scenario of "luck of the draw" here. I feel presenting that to the community here is actually very disrespectful.

What I find "disrespectful", is your accusatory tone and the insinuation that Erin has done something wrong without any evidence whatsoever. This thread is supposed to be for celebrating Erin's work, not spouting petty nonsense and making spurious allegations. Either put up or shut up! :emot-butt:

Dear DT Members,

I'm so sad to read all of this discord. I assure you that the way I do anything--no matter what it is--does not arise from disrespect for anyone. Thank you for your support over the years, and all you do for the Haven Foundation...please don't speculate or argue any more, life is too short and these drawings aren't that important.

Don't worry about it Erin, certainly don't be sad ... this kind of discussion happens on here all the time. You sold 4 drawings at $2K+ ... damn good for you!

It took me less than 2 minutes of investigating the eBay buyer of those 4 pieces of artwork, to discover that it was a well known and respected member here who had purchased them.

Perhaps simply asking that member how he was able to purchase the artwork so quickly, would have been a much better way of handling the situation instead of accusing Erin Wells of some sort of wrongdoing?

Just my 2 cents worth.

I agree RF.

People can sell what they want however they see fit but I do feel that anyone can be critical about how they choose to go about the entire process. People have been critical plenty of times in the past about how CD may go about selling something "lottery" or Gerald Winters's secret auctions. Heck I bet people have been critical of how David has sold items in the past. This board has never been shy to call out instances that they deem a bit odd.

I'm not sure what's worse--a conspiracy theorist, or a sycophant. I guess I don't have to choose in this instance.

I was hoping this would just fade away.

Share a pic of it. If published in IT worth $500 + or so... less in other editions like Doctor Sleep.

There are two ways to post photos.

Either upload the photo to a web site that hosts photos and link to the photo by clicking the http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/images/editor/insertimage.png icon. Write or paste the image URL in the box an click OK.

Or you can upload to the site server in the Gallery.

To upload to the site server: Click Gallery. From the upper right of the menu on top of the new page click Upload Photos. Click the Browse button. Navigate to the photo on your hard drive and select it. Click Open. Wait for the photo to upload. When it's complete you will be taken back to your gallery.

You have three picture posting options. You can post the thumbnail, the medium sized image below the thumbnail, or you can click on the medium sized image and another window will open with a full sized image. Right click the image you want. Select Copy Image Location, then click the http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/images/editor/insertimage.png button in the thread you want and paste the image location in the box. Click OK.

*

To post a video click the http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/images/editor/video.png icon. Type or paste video URL. Delete the s from https if present. Click OK.
