Thought some of you might like a little landscape art. There is a new article up in Towerpedia! here (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=2017) if you want a little direction.

Please read the Contest Posting Guidelines (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=1241) before submitting your entry, and have fun!

Contest will be open until February 21, 2008.

Sweet.

When i first read Wizard and Glass i had trouble trying to imagine what the thinny actually looked like. I could'nt decide whether it looked a bit like how the stargate portal does (shimmering fluid wall) or if it was a lot more organic and alive.
Then one night i had this bizarre dream where it came to me, and it kind of made sense its a combination of both.
The next morning i was sketching it down because i did'nt want to lose that image of it i had in my head.
This contest is definitely a challenge, but im gonna include my vision of the thinny into this as its one of the biggest things about the dark tower i've been fascinated with.

I'm such a geek lol

I like Dag, I like. Something like the thinny will be a lot of fun to try to create. Good choice!

Yeah, some of us can't draw people, so this is a nice change of pace.

Yeah, I was trying to get away from the characters for awhile, so others could participate.

I think this one is going to be a lot of fun. :)

This is the limit of my artistic abilities. Dora had some fun paper so here we go.

Hopefully the thinny looks like its encroaching. :ninja:

...and the pile of brush looks real. I have no idea why the bird is there.

Woke up this morning and decided to draw something, and decided why not enter the contest. So here's my submission. Sorry for the bad quality, I took the pic with my digital camera. I'll try to scan it tomorrow if I can.

I had my friend at work scan my picture, but the quality still isn't the greatest. It's done all in pencil. It's really the only thing I can draw with (except charcoal, but that's so messy). I've tried pastels, colored pencils, watercolor, but I just have to much of a hard time with them. The only thing I haven't tried is paint. But I'm pretty content with my pencils, I love the black and white look they give.
