Both The Eagles and The Rolling Stones have songs that I easily consider some of the best of all time. However, in this case there is no contest. The Eagles - Desperado (1973) is a multi-layered complex song of haunting beauty. The Stones' ditty is a nice piece of pop. Desperado is my pick.

Yup, "Desperado" is in my top ten favorite songs. So good!
