During the first round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to five tracks you would like to move onto the next round. The top five tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are (please let me know if any video doesn't play for you):

Can't believe Alizée isn't getting any love in this poll or the other one

I realize now that I shouldn't be voting in this contest. I really am not familiar with (many) artists from 2000 and on. As an example I hadn't heard of Sufjan Stevens before this tournament.

That's why a video with the song is included for each nomination so you can make an informed decision even if you've never heard of the artist before. Sufjan Stevens is one of the best artists of this century.

Dude; I haven't heard of any of these artists. And the few 2000-onward artists that I've heard of, I don't know any of their songs. But it's easy enough to listen to the video clips and render an opinion. Most of the time, for me, the ones that get my votes are the ones that I can actually stand to listen to more than 10 seconds LOL.
