During the first round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to five tracks you would like to move onto the next round. The top five tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are (please let me know if any video doesn't play for you):

Another one where I'm having trouble narrowing it down to just 5.

It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World is one of the greatest songs ever written/recorded.

I cannot agree more!! Where should we be without the beautiful females that walk right along side us mere mortals?
But I still think "please" is better...

Please don't bypass The Ecstacy of Gold without listening to it. The scene of Tuco running through the graveyard to this tune is one of the best moments ever put to film.

I've been making it a point to listen to every song before voting and that is certainly one I didn't recognize/remember before I listened to it. I purposely left out Hey Jude to vote for it instead. I figured Jude would get enough votes without my help.

Thank you for doing that. I do too, and I know it's a lot, given how many songs there are to listen to each day! But I swear there was no other way to sensibly go through this. As the rounds go on, the groups will become smaller and smaller :)

I'm glad to hear that. I don't mind people voting for what they like even if it doesn't match my tastes. But for someone to not vote for a song b/c they didn't take the time to listen to it...well, Bad! Bad, I say!
