Well here we go guys. I finally took a few pictures of my meager collection haha.
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/777/IMG_07721.jpg
These are my Dark tower books. They're all 1st/1sts and IV-VII are the S/L
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/777/IMG_07731.jpg
Here are some of my cooler 1st's Some US and UK both, I particularly enjoy the UK Stand, Firestarter and Cujo

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/777/IMG_07711.jpg
These are some other S/L and gift editions as well as Cycle of the Werewolf, a few ARCS and comics

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/777/IMG_0774.jpg

More 1sts

Mainly Simmons

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/777/IMG_07831.jpg

My US Stand in an awesome case. I really like these cases.

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/777/IMG_07842.jpg

My Carrie 1st in a pretty cool slipcase. I think the artwork is Readman, its pretty righteous

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/777/IMG_07921.jpg

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/777/IMG_0793.jpg

My Shining 1st in an awesome case with Chadbourne art.

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/777/IMG_0791.jpg

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/777/IMG_0790.jpg

My pride and joy. The Gunslinger. That was an unused dj but I just had to use it.

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/777/IMG_07761.jpg

Some other authors I really enjoy. Hill, Ketchum, Lee, Simmons, and McCammon mostly. All the Ketchum and Lee are S/L and most of the Simmons is flatsigned

Well that is most of it people. I have a long way to go, really only been collecting for about 2 years. Big shout out to David at Betts for most of my goodies have come via him. I look forward to getting to know all of you. You guys seem to be awesome people so it should be fun. LDAPN

Haha well it starts with being young and full of alcohol. I was sitting around with my buddies and the topic of what one would be if one were to be a professional wrestler(WWE style) came up. Anyway, we got to the finishing move part and I decided I would do a forearm smash and dubbed it the "honkytonksmash"( im an 80's kid so I like old school wrestling and the honkytonk man was apparently on the brain that night). From there on it stuck. In these many years since it has been shortened to "htsmash" or just "smash" but it's pretty much what my group of friends refer to me as.

Dude, was just enjoying your collection again. Is that an Dark Tower S/L set? Or partial set? Whatever the case - awesome.

Also, question re Dan Simmons. I've read The Terror and loved it. What do you recommend of his (and what do you think of his Hyperion series)?

I wish it was a same number set. Maybe when i retire haha. I have IV-VII s/l for now. One of these days dude i will have a matching set but were probably 20-30 years of saving my nickels and get out of jail free cards from the mrs. As far as Simmons, he's one of my favorites. If you liked the terror, id check out Drood for sure. All his more recent stuff is kind of in that vein of historical event with a little fiction intertwined. Crook factory(about hemingway and cuba), Fifth heart ( adams and sherlock holmes), Drood (dickens) were all awesome reads for me. The hyperion books were kick ass and righteous. Just a great, epic story. Honestly my favorite "space" story of all time. Summer of night was a fantastic coming of age story within a horror novel ala "IT". You just cant go wrong with Simmons brother

Ok, excellent, thanks Chad. I have some second hand paperbacks of the Hyperion series that I might delve into soon. I had no idea he usually blended his horror around significant historical events, I thought The Terror was an anomaly. The Terror just kept coming up in "best horror" lists and so I read it, without knowing much except his name.

And nice one with the DT S/Ls- I don't have any yet. And yes, save my cents and work on the other half. If I told her I spent $15k (20k Australian dollars) on 9 books, I'll be dead. My last post on this forum will be in the New Pride and Joy thread, a beautiful set of DT S/Ls... Then I'll go mysteriously missing.

Thanks man! From what I've gathered, Firestarter was published in September so the August date would seem to be really cool. According to the catalog, Talisman was published in October(although I have no idea), so I may be a day(month) late on that one, but still very happy with them
